Give Lorraine a makeover!

Everyone is giving Lorraine such a harsh time, saying she is a plain jane or worse, ugly.
But I believe she could look a bombshell if she got some glasses more suited to her face (the small square black ones make her look paler, and miniturize her eyes), wore foundation that that is the right shade and with some bronzer in to give her some colour, STOP with the dark pink/red lipstick which just makes her lips look smaller and again accentuates her ashy paleness. Umm what else, sort out the hair! Atm looks like shes got various highlights and botched dye jobs in it, giving it a kinda greasy coppery tone, just dye it one colour, pref light brown or blonde so she looks more healthy. Maybe get a side fringe to her her face some structure, and some blush so she doesn't look so washed out. And finally, if she wanted to, wear some mascara or eyeliner just so her eyes look more open and alive. Mona has the right idea, eyes are a big part of connecting to other people and sealing deals.

Ok went a bit crazy there! But Lorraine has the potential to look good!

Yes I know the apprentice isn't about glamour or looks, but in business your personal presentation and appearance are obviously v important. Lorraine just looks like such a scruff all the time. Even the guys make an effort, brush their hair and stuff.

I like your suggestions, especially that Lorraine would suit lighter hair, layered onto her face. And the make-up colours she uses make her look very pale. I have to say that I don't think her dress sense is bad at all - lots of skirts and blouses, very feminine. She looked very pretty when they went to the truffle-tasting thing - if she presented herself like that all the time, I suspect she'd have been treated differently both by the media and by the other contestants.

But I suppose the important question is - why should her appearance determine how others perceive and treat her, in a professional context? It's very important to look tidy and well-presented, I agree, but I don't think she does look scruffy - her hair is tied back out of the way of her face, and her clothes are very smart. She doesn't make herself look as conventionally sexually attractive as she could - but why should that be relevant in a business situation? I certainly don't think Lorraine should have to exert 'feminine charm' (i.e. flirting) when dealing with clients - the male contestants are getting by quite nicely without having to...

If Lorraine was to lose the glasses replacing them with contacts, put highlights in her hair and some very fine make-up then I don't think she would look too different from Kate.

Infact Kate will probably look like Lorraine in 10 years time.

LOL.

My blog offers a certain likeness of her with another BBC face.

She's appears to have bad skin, which I think is part of her problem. Make up doesn't look good over it. I don't know what the cause might be. Also her hair simply looks unwashed.
