I'm probably very slow here, but I realised this week that we, the viewers, did not see any evidence of Sir Alan's secretary at all.

I don't recall seeing her all series. The camera angle doesn't cover the area where her desk used to be. Sir Alan doesn't use a name when asking for the candidates to be sent in.

Has the fake secretary been axed? Is it just a recording now?
