what you'll need:

your hamster/similar rodent
an LED black light.

take the hamster and scan your black light over it's feet (and for gods sake avoid their eyes! tried showing my sister this a minute ago & she nearly blinded the poor thing)

but yeah, do this, look at what shows up & remember to ALWAYS wash your hands after holding your ham.

i was horrified, her cage is clean and i wiped her down with a pet wipe last night.
actually didn;t think they would show up as pink as they did, but christ. that's a lot of bacteria...

Hate to tell you but lots of animals use urine scent trails to find their way about and mark their runs/territory.
The list includes many rodents and a fair number of primates, some of whom even regularly wash their hands in their urine to maintain nice smelly paw prints

nah i knew they did, you don't go into animal management being squeamish

i just didn't expect to see so much pink glowing back at me, some i expected, but the vibrancy of it and the amount was incredible

My rat used to pee all over the place.

Something to do with no sphincter muscles apparently.

Gawd I miss my rat Died in 1996.
