Have I been given a returned phone by Vodafone??
Ive had my new phone (that came with a contract) from Vodafone for nearly a month now. However, ive have a conspiracy theory that I have been given an old returned phoned....
First of all, the phone came with everything pre-loaded in it, including battery (which was full), and all the internet/email/mms setting were set up. The box was a bit tatty too, and the seal was broken. Through the month i have had loads of phone calls from companies (atleast 4 or 5) whith many calling 5-6 times, asking for someone who is not me (the companies are things like banks and one was Sky), everytime it is the same name they ask for. Ive also had texts from a few different companies too. One of the people who phoned at the call centre said it sounded like someone had the number before..... Last but not least, the phone itself isn't in tip top condition, the slider on it is wobbly, and it occasionally turns itself off, leading me to believe it could of been returned faulty...... Any one have any idea??? or am i just being paranoid? |

If the seal was broken then you should have returned it.
Too late now it's been a month though. |

was the contract brand new as in the phone number aswel or just an upgrade. You shouldn't have accepted the phone with a broken seal unless the sales person opened it in front of you.

When people cancel contracts and don't want to keep the number the number gets reallocated - could be that.
If your phone is broken (slider problems) get them to replace it. It will be covered by warranty or insurance (if you have it). |

the number would not be re-issued with the phone.
when a number is retired, it is rested before being reissued. i guess it would be possible that you were given a returned handset but there is no chance that you would get the returnee's number as well. as CaptnSpaulding if it was a return the seal would have been broken. |

these (so called) warranties won't get you a new phone just a poor replacement while they repair the original phone, or that been my experience

The warranty would have been for a new phone, if the fault was reported within the first 28 days.
