He tends to build them up, fan boy them to their faces and then two weeks later, slag them off to someone else he's fan boying.
LOL - oh well you got to admire his "honesty"

Programme on MTV Music now - Dappy's Fish n Hits.

Expect songs from Mackerelmore and Tinie Tempura....

They've made a chart of artists that they change their names to fish...

Music TV has sunk to a new low.

I don't know if the wiki pages need updated but I got to laugh at it really

VH1 UK: VH1 UK targets 25–44 years old, and has much of the same content as the main US channel. There were two sister stations in the UK: VH1 Classic (now MTV Classic) and VH2 (now closed).

Partly true but it does not carry the same content as the US - 25-44?? more like alot younger to me with their MTV ads

Today, MTV presents a wide variety of non-music-related television shows aimed primarily at the 12 to 18-year-old demographic.

Again partly true but the likes of Geordie Shore aimed between 12-18 year olds?? OK then now we know where MTV have gone totally tits up in their programming!

I didn't know you could but then again I wouldn't dare change it lol .... next the MTV Mods will hunt you down

EDIT: I wouldn't even really know what their channels are aimed at if I am honest as all the main focus is exactly that MTV

I think MTV is aimed at students so 18-24 year olds. A majority of people in or around my age group that I know watches Geordie Shore (I don't) and they're all students aged 18-24.

Thats what I thought with the programming they are aiming at .... I presume VIVA is more aimed at 12-18 years old? (could be wrong on there as well)

So MTV is aimed at 18-24, so whats VH1 actually aimed at then these days?

You're right about VIVA, they show Spongebob for the 12-15 year olds and then the other stuff is for the 16-18 year olds. But it does appeal to students too.

VH1 is obviously aimed at 16-24 year olds along with the other MTV Music channels.

So in other words one of the last channels to even cater to the 25+ has now became a 16-24 range (oh good) no wonder I now watch Vintage TV but that is terrible for customers on VM (ONE "vintage" channel) - there needs to be an overhaul somewhere as it comes more across as if 25+ are no longer being catered for these days

I understand "chasing" demographics but how many of these channels need to cater to one?

VIVA: odd how MTV Networks can work out its demographic for this channel/MTV yet they have converted a 25+ channel to be knocked down a peg or two to cater for that MTV lot - MTV/Viacom needs to get a grip as aiming all their channels to one is going to cause a backfire (if not already)

VH1 UK also has its own wiki page which says:

The channel targets an audience between 25 to 44 year olds, VH1 aims to be "mature, sophisticated and totally stylish for viewers who still feel young and want to keep in-touch with what is happening on the music scene today." The music they play consists of music from the 1970s right through to today.

Until 2008, much of their programming was taken from the American version. The channel now focuses entirely on music videos, with many Top 20 and Top 40 countdowns.
However I don't think they ever play 70s music now and much less from the 80s, the majority is from the past 20 years.

Elsewhere, MTV Classic has changed to MTV Summer today and is showing the album/year on the song titles. They did this when it was MTV Xmas too, but why not keep it when it changes back to Classic?

VH1 Adria has switched to the new graphics today. Unfortunately they now show the same predictable countdowns in the weekend themed slots as VH1 European.

Basically VH1 is shooting themselves in the foot on that one I want to feel young don't get me wrong but not with the MTV ads they run seems like they are being hypocrites - as I said before where are the ads for VH1?? We have ads for VIVA/MTV mostly but none for VH1? They are doing a good job if people are turning away from programming as I don't return

Weird how an MTV branded channel suddenly displays "years" in songs ... yet VH1 and then VH1 Classic had years displayed? I will take a guess the "years" will only be on temporary then they will revert back

Clubland's free selection weekend...

Well, as selections are free anyway and it's currently the same songs on the app as usual...

There is plenty of information they could show. Each video at MTV is tagged with Artist, Title, Album, Year, Label and Director. Of course sometimes some of the fields are left blank!

Gradually over the years they have been phased out - MTV Dance use to highlight the record label

The Box highlighted exactly as listed (apart from year)

As we have seen on numerous occasions, these channels don't know what year is which anymore, so i'd imagine as they don't have knowlegeable staff, they'd rather not show it than look stupid as they have done on those numerous occasions.

I agree with you (this vent is towards them not you) but if they stop shoving their heads up their own asses in regarding talentless wannabes for reality shows than keep the knowledge of music then why be bothered at all? They may as well abandon it and just concentrate on "entertainment" if they seem to think thats their route but I think in the end they'll regret it

Music TV isn't going to change for the better.

Look at Radio1 and the DJ's now compared to the 80's/90's.

Radio just like Music TV want to appeal to a demographic that appears to be getting younger and younger and doesn't really exist. Not all young people are the same yet Music TV and Radio think they are.

Clubland tonight - some of the same songs are appearing more than once an hour. Nicer selection, but don't want to hear Foxes, Idina Menzel and Nervo repeated over and over.
