Nice to see some classics on Clubland today, but I think the new app is crap.

5.5 hours to play one of my songs and didn't play the other even 6 hours after requesting it.

A days home improvements to some decent tunes but not falling for the 'we control the tunes' nonsense.

They should allow text and twitter voting too. I know everyone has a smartphone now and Clubland is available on Android and iPhone but solely relying on the app is not working.

Looking at the Top 10 rated programmes for Clubland it shows that Euphoric Anthems: All Night was the most popular show of the week (Week ending 27 July). Maybe if they look at what's popular e.g. Euphoric/Classic shows they could focus on being more of what they used to be.

#ClublandApproved was least popular that week and only got 4000 viewers.

They should, but you know what music channels are like - limit to a certain group of people.

Doesn't surprise me - current music is everywhere, so why tune in to clubland to watch it.

Was it going in 2004?

Today is Eurodance day - they've just played that massive hit Moves Like Jagger by the massive Eurodance artists Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera.

10 Cascada tracks available, already played 1, requested 1 and will request the others over the day to see if they are played.

I think I can get away with staying in before the hoards come home later

Maroon 5/Aguliera ain't even European let alone "Eurodance" what planet are they living on?

All these channels in my mind are aiming at the one demographic these days (Bauer/MTV/CSC/AATW) its fairly obvious that your outwith what they are looking for and your told to bug off - yet irony of all people complain about Radio 1 all the time - maybe they should look alot closer to their TV screens!

I'll add this I caught my local radio station Tay FM playing Blackstreet "No Diggity" - didn't realise they played artists like them and yet it was a 90's song BUT they edited/shortened it! (took rap part out with Dr Dre), why play a song to then just cut it off? I wonder if 2 Pac got requested would he even last 5 mins on air let alone 3 mins! (again different for TV to commercial radio - how odd!)

Well, the Clubland day has been one of mixed tunes and Bakermat's new one every 30 minutes, Tiesto - Wasted every 30 minutes and Basshunter or Avicii almost every 3 or 4 songs.
Oh and Armin's Ping Pong!

Other songs in between but these seem to be the chosen ones. They have played Cascada, just none of my requests.

Just a curious question - what is Clubland's playlist at night? Any different? Do they show more "classics" than whats on daytime or still the same?

It has also have to be that its more of a "record label" thing to get the amount of plays out in a week?

I think it gets more classic, at the moment from about 1.45 but it can change from period to period.

I think it is a record label thing. A bit sad really.

I'm guessing those who want 'classics' are in the minority.

A lot of places take bits out these days, or cut of beginnings or ends. That way they can say they play more tunes as they cut songs down to a minimum.

If I am honest I was a bit naffed at the edit I heard and yet its a bauer run station too! - Either play it full or don't bother! Regarding playing classics on radio I hear a bit more of it on Heat than I do on my local radio station and plus its odd that you have a sister station for "classics" as the FM station in my mind has passed it sell by date!

I might as well add I seen early today on MTV Dance/Rocks that the MTV Hottest chart actually CRASHED on screen (no one was listed on the channels ... oh the irony) MTV Dance had it displayed into the first couple mins of ads I assumed MTV would do was pull the DOG off temporarily to fix it they some how managed to keep it on and clear it out (must have been getting updated ... but the MTV Hottest has less relevance to what the "genres" are playing really)

It's been playing all the old skool Clubland music from the CD's. It's going back to it's roots rather than dance. But who knows you never know what to expect of that channel these days.

From Clubland's launch until about 3 years ago their playlist was different throughout the day. (Wikipedia says different on the programme descriptions)

Wake Up - They played a mixture of classics and new 'dance' videos.
Am2Pm - This was mostly R&B and was more like the Massive R&B channel.
Clubland - A mixture of classic clubland and new clubland videos with some NDubz thrown in
Mania - It had a varied playlist and would feature loads of Cascada, Basshunter, Scooter and cheesy Clubland artists such as Manian, Italobrothers and Kelly Llorena.
Classix - This was similar to mania but with some more older videos.
Blue Zone - The playlist was quite odd. It featured dance, very cheesy pop and R&B with a little bit of chillout music thrown in. I remember seeing Zig & Zag as well as Bus Stop one night.

Back then Clubland was the best, it may have had R&B music but it was different and there wasn't a single sign of Calvin Harris or Martin Garrix. I also remember that they had a different logo for each show and sometimes the song titles wouldn't fit on graphics.

I'm amazed it's lasted 6 years and the albums are still going. Dance goes in and out of fashion a lot. When it launched the likes of Tiesto were ignored for Cascada. Now Tiesto is on almost every UK Music channel.

How times change.

Tiesto is on the other channels because he has changed his style, he is no longer dance and has converted to pop. Wasted isn't even a dance track just something for drunk chavs to sing along to outside Burger King.

Got you .... I believe that more by the day the record labels play a part in all this

I'm sure the classics on Clubland will increase when Clubland Bounce is released, 4CDs and a great track list it has, back when the CDs were good. What I'd love to see is instead of them playing the normal version maybe put the remix version with the video instead. Probably too much hassle for them or they couldn't be bothered

Even though it's owned by CSC/Sony they still seem to run from the same playout centre, same with AKA (which is now owned by AATW). When the clocks went forward a few months ago they both crashed and they were the only channels that used to crash on a regular basis back in the day.

That looks like a good album, they'll probably ignore a majority of the songs though because they'll think the viewers won't want to see them.

They've never played most of those.

Anybody else tried Clubland's App? - Either mine isn't working or it's just a complete load of nonsense. Apparently none of the songs they play all the time are in the top 10 most requested and the ones that are have barely seen airtime, but then Clubland have always been full of it.

I've seen a lot of clubland the last few days and when i've not been around, my kids are big music fans too and have noticed the same patterns.

cues FIXED

Read Clubland Bounce - WTF has Girls Aloud gotta do with it? (I know remix) but come on ... is this basically put on so they can pull in the Cheryl C fans? Clubland needs a grip and get back to mostly CLUB music aka actual dance than crap dance

Regarding requests I do wonder if that was the whole point MTV/Bauer abandoned their requests so its basically no viewer input on what tracks get played? Yet most charts they run can keep a track in for say 6 months-1 year yet normally it would be out of charts say within 20 weeks (guessing), it probably has more to do with labels in control these days than public influence (yet they make the public believe they have an influence)

Cheryl Cole should never be on Clubland - Bounce, Classix, whatever.

I think the whole 'requests' idea is to make people think they are involved, when in reality they already have ideas as to what is going to be played - unless my app really isn't working.

Requested Cascada earlier and i'm still waiting - seen some songs 4 or 5 times in that time.

Onto MTV Classic - since they've gone MTV Summer, it's been pretty much like Heat!
