Requested Cascada earlier and i'm still waiting - seen some songs 4 or 5 times in that time.

Onto MTV Classic - since they've gone MTV Summer, it's been pretty much like Heat!”

I was just baffled why the heck Girls Aloud are doing on a Clubland album - basically anything like this ruins albums for me .... thank god I can buy songs I like than crap you have to put up with!

The requests I am having my doubts on the requests - you just have to look at the MTV Hottest chart as an example .... you don't see the other genres featured and how would they be featured? More like a set up really by the looks of it in my mind

Heck I remember requesting on The Box ended up waiting 6 hours LOL .. but again I wonder ... just uninstall/reinstall and se if any different, if no difference I think question will be answered

Clubland isn't what it used to be.

I've uninstalled/re-installed but to no avail - still not getting plays.

It's funny as their 'most selected charts' are all over the place. Full of songs they haven't been playing much/at all and the songs they play all the time are not in the 'most selected' charts. I'm hoping it's teething problems and not manufactured.

One example - A Scooter song was in the overall most selected chart with the new app in the top 10. It is number 21 in the 'classix' alone chart. How on earth can it be 10 overall but 21 in a minority chart.

Still, ok it's all made up, but this is still way better than the normal crap they put on....how long will it last? Well, 3am...then it's back to normal.

Yeah I can see that by posts in here and the crap albums they bring out these days - but thats music these days!

Clubland app - oh well tried and failed lol .... well you at least no its not your phone - if they are having teething issues would it be better to pull it off the "stores" its in then relaunch it (test it before launch)

As for tracks they don't play in charts but are in most selected - must be short on tracks if they need to resort to tracks they hardly play to make up numbers (someone has cocked up somewhere)

I just have a feeling that these channels have no real sense in direction if music was that IMPORTANT to them they would concentrate on it and properly research it all but of course its not .... they rather throw it on cack!

Thing is , Clubland is just nostalgia now.

It should be just a classic dance channel , the new crap should be moved to Planet Pop given that most of the club tracks nowadays are even more pop than ever before!

That is exactly the problem -the whole dance scene these days is that deluded (or is it diuted) with this "dance pop" its not just Clubland -you just need to look at MTV Dance and its the same thing "dance pop" by day and any classics is shoved to late night before "teleshopping" or its given a weekend to it - if they knew their music well they could mix it in with todays music but I assume that they are afraid to play them which baffles me - so lets say in a decades time will these tracks be treated the same or will they be given more of a priority to music further back? But it'll be that they want to erase most of history and rewrite it with today's standards

out of this year alone I think I have found FOUR tracks I actually like:
Lady Gaga/R Kelly - Do What You Want (odd collaboration! yet it works ... not bad track)
Nico and Vinz - Am I Wrong? (this track makes me feel a little relieved that I can have a bit of rnb/soul back in the charts)
Nile Rodgers - Do What You Wanna Do (hearing this played alot on BBC Radio 2 again its a great track but I doubt the likes of MTV will play it - be surprised if they did)
Pharrell Williams - Marilyn Monroe (I just like the instrumental to the song again to me its a breather from what I have put up with the last year) (I'm no major fan of Gaga or Pharrell but these songs in a way feel a bit different to what is out again I can be more wrong lol)

Clubland should focus on dance 'classix' and cheesy dance from lets say 1985 to 2009 and then have Now Music focus on other music from 1980 to Now and Planet Pop should be a mixture of current pop and urban and hits from 2010+. Then AKA should focus on playing unknowns and urban classics.

All these "genre" channel need to focus more on songs in the past - why does MTV Dance not do the I got Mashed In series again? They seem to do "flashbacks" but I think I have seen it as far as 2000 (this may have been on MTV Base) but come on there was music in the 90's and 80's you can delve into the archive and play - as VH1 won't do it, yet I wouldn't mind VH1 actually playing "proper" disco hits like what they done back in 90's - I know I speak of nostalgia and how times have moved on since then but really since they stopped all this its just became dire lets be honest!

I got loads of music channels when I got Freesat, and they are pretty much all sooooo bad! I am a bit of an old fart, so it seems fitting that the "vintage" one is pretty much the only one I like plus a bit of Kerrang for guilty-pleasure metal. I really wish there was a video equivalent of something like Radio 6: new stuff, old stuff, live stuff and lots of lovely indie. I'm never going to see a Pavement video on TV without paying for it!

You should all do what I do and download HQ videos from the Internet, put them on an external hard drive, hook up to your TV and you have your own video jukebox.

I like the idea - mind you there is Vidzone on PSN I haven't used that in ages - but the other problem is with youtube is any particular videos you may look for ain't there but there will be a "lyric" video up instead

I don't use YouTube. I download DVD quality vids. I won't discuss where on the forum as it's probably against the rules

Nice idea, but I don't think it';s going to happen.

The app is strange. I ask for a song and, maybe coincidentally, it plays a different song by the same artist. Some songs just don't get played and maybe playlist fillers as opposed to songs they will actually play.

Should, but won't.

Incidentally, the top 25 most selected Eurodance that is on is exactly the same as one of their other charts - they are either trying to pass off this as a chart chosen by the viewers or they have genuinely made a mistake and put on the wrong tape!

I'll give it 6 months-1 year I reckon, the only time you ever see music on that channel seems to be at weekends (pending on scheduling), how long did it take MTV to phase out anything music related from that main channel? It wasn't long and all they had on there was the official chart

So let me get this straight (not you personally) they have an app that YOU request a song by an artist (example lets say Lasgo Something YOU requested they will select for you Lasgo Alone ) whats the point in that? I be naffed off with that I may like say the artists music but I may not like what was selected instead. As for songs being playlist fillers, then why involve them in a chart they have no part in? If they aint getting requested it shouldn't be in - its that simple really! But then again look at some Bauer charts songs been in there for over a year - really?? No one requests the songs they play its basically automatic - plus the amount of times the same song gets played in all these "charts" no wonder it hangs around - comes more across as a mockery than anything else!

Because it's the school summer holidays they have programmes from 10am to (around) 2am the next morning, then there's a bit more music before Teleshopping.

No, they list artists and songs, so I request say Cascada - Blink and they play Everytime We Touch, I request the Megamix, they play Summer of Love - may be coincidence and someone else has requested the other ones, but when will they play mine then? Apparently, according to their facebook page, they will all get played and apparently they have thousands of requests - yeah right, they don't even get that many viewers and I can't believe an app has suddenly made people vote when barely anyone did before.

I did have a look at that their lists though - it appears most of their 'chosen' songs are on the record labels Virgin and 3Beat.

Thats my point you requested a song but they play the other one instead - if songs are listed they should play them no matter - within 6 hours (I say) and saying it as last time I requested on The Box lol - the "chosen" labels will possibly have more of a deal I reckon

I saw it on The Vault a few months ago. It doesn't get played very often though.

Have any of the music channels changed or improved in the last 3 weeks? I'm away and the only ones I've seen are Clubland (online) and 4Music.

No infact quite the opposite.

MTV Classic temporary rebranded as MTV Summer.

Smash Hits being more useless than ever before with more repeat showings of the Hit40UK what is also on KISS , The Box.

CSC music channels offering the same dross on almost every channel except Scuzz.

When did Hit40UK start up on KISS? I was aware of the Big Beats Chart unless this has now been added? If it has that'll be a nail in the coffin on KISS! I agree how many showings do we need of the top 40? Be on the MTV Channels/Bauer - from playing the charts to what they play they may as well just run the charts 24/7 at this rate

Scuzz is run by proper rock fans. I'm just glad the channel hasn't become a pop rock channel.

VIVA will soon be chucked out the music section and placed rightly next to MTV. It's clearly MTV/Comedy Central light.
