Slightly off topic I heard on news last night Youtube is to give "age" rated against music videos (trialing) supposedly - really?? Why not have a go at the culprits who let the videos through on TV as well or is this another go at the internet?? ”

They let a lot go on TV. Some people can say 'Bitch' others cannot. Selective.

MTV Summer - mainly noughties.

Clubland - the App is working this morning! They've also not played any song twice, so either they've fixed any problems OR the person in charge of transmissions today is better than the others.

Or they've not had their cheque from the record labels

Regarding words such as "bitch" quelle surprise - I doubt they play Smack My Bitch Up before 9pm?? - but your right selective with what is said - some songs get censored others have slipped through (but sorry Youtube should not be target FIRST - they need to look at the likes of MTV regarding "censoring" or is that being quietly ignored? ) - they let drunken idiots be aired before 9pm in every ad break lets remember but of course its double standards .... sorry I forgot

MTV Summer - Noughties music - well not exactly "classic" and I can think of more summer anthems BEFORE the 00's but of course whoever is in charge must forget that!

Clubland app - they got it working - just in time for Christmas eh? I'll go with cheques lost in post

Don't think Smack My Bitch Up has been played for at least 2 years on the music channels It's a good song/video yet they would rather just play Beyonce & Rihanna at night.

I remember a few years ago when you would get loads of videos you couldn't play in the day but now the playlists are just the same all day and night.

It does prove a point in what is exactly wrong with these channels (yes Ok its simple to go on youtube and find the videos ... but thats not the point), I can't even remember the last time I seen Eminem Stan video (that was another one that was given a warning before hand - slowed/censored during day and night time play in full), its fairly obvious that the playlists are exactly that what you see by day - you will see by night, classics are shunted to more late night than having at least a bit of priority in daytime play. May as well get VH1 to play more "old skool" music as you can't rely on the MTV branded channels, but then again VH1 couldn't get "disco" or the "decades" correct before revamp - I would still say if Bauer got their fingers out and "converted" either Heat or Smash Hits to be more "old skool" focused then it would give MTV UK a kick up the ass! (possibly Smash Hits would suit this - old skool can range from 70's-90's and features all genres of music)

Just flicking thru the music channels, Now Music has different song titles and graphics, shows on EPG all have different titles from before as well, don't view the music channels on a daily basis so apologies if this new look hasn't just happened.

Not a bad change. It looked extremely cheap before but the content is still poor.

They've now censored Gwen Stefani "Take a chance you stupid ho"

Clubland App not working again.

When it was working yesterday, online streaming and app streaming were not working. Now streaming is working again, it appears the app is not.

They don't have the technology for both to work!

Now Music could be a good channel if they actually played the older Now CDs, They have a vast archive going to waste.

Well, they are owned by AATW aka Clubland.

When I asked Clubland two or three years ago, I got a reply (the only one they've ever replied to) after I asked for some other Cascada tracks (who are/were on their label) that they'll get the Tech boys to have a look, but they couldn't seem to find the videos for 'Miracle' and one or two others - this is from the company that, as I say, owns the rights, so that vast 'NOW' back catalogue is probably not going to be coming to our screens any time soon.

Oh FFS last time I remember it being censored was "ho" was taken out but censoring the full lyric is going OTT (overboard) now - oh well that is songs in the past getting the full censorship now (for no real reason) whats next - Ghostbusters?, I assume those who "censor" seriously ain't listened to some songs of today but of course not!

Remember Pink's lyric from Just Like a Pill - for Bitch it was Switch (not sure if that'll be another one that'll be butchered completely next) this is getting ridiculous, if they are so sensitive to swear words then why not stop broadcasting certain videos during the day a la nearly showing tits and ass (Taylor Swift can now be added to that) with that horrendous video but of course MONEY TALKS - yet irony in all this censorship daytime TV some programming playout swearing (doesn't phase me if I am honest that way - but why censor a word of a song but yet a TV drama/comedy swearing is kept?)

Kinda like that lot at MTV and Bauer there is MORE to what they actually playout but they don't or can't be assed digging deeper into their archives!

Oh i Agree.

NOW Music as it is atm is no different to the other 20+ music channels that play endless recent chart songs which makes it yet another channel to avoid due to modern chart music being utter drivel.

I have all NOW's from 1 - 19 on vinyl which my dad collected and the CDs from Now 20 to Now 69 which i collected. Tracklisting since Now 70 have been disappointing.

Possibly this has been going a while and I haven't really paid much attention to it but i'll throw it out there anyway:

Since when did MTV News have "product placement" I noticed this afternoon the PP logo appeared at the end? Since when did news have "product placement" ?? (irony of all is if a product is advertised in a music vid its censored - double standards?)

The only thing I remember was them speaking to Usain Bolt regarding his new Puma ad - yet to me it wasn't exactly they were advertising the product Have not seen the Dr Dre Beat Speakers in any vids recently

So Clubland Classix Wednesday is....all current tunes....

What a load of nonsense.

It has to be a mistake, so hopefully they rectify it at some point as the App has all current tunes/artists and no classix at all.

They were actually considering showing all the videos from all the Now albums in sequence, but they were having problems locating some of the obscure videos, and in the end decided that there was so much random guff on them that not enough people would watch the shows anyway to make it worthwhile, so they did those 1 hour Now Years with Mark Goodier instead.

Of course MTV holds a copy of every single one, no matter how obscure. Unfortunately I doubt that they'd be willing to share with another network, let alone their own channels these days.

I was quite surprised to see The Sex Pistols on Scuzz today. Not something they usually play

The new Magic logo looks good and hopefully they'll change the TV channel soon as it's been the same for such a long time.
