Yes new looks don't happen much these days like the old days of EMAP.
The look of a channel doesn't really matter as it's the content that does.

Slick, modern and creative looking graphics and logos are just a bonus as I'd rather see a channel with cheap looking presentation showing a diverse mix of music videos.

And we all know variety lacks on Magic TV these days.

Swap the channel before it had this new look around 2004/2005 it was a much better channel. If you look at the channel now it's all new music video exclusives, X Factor, 90's pop.

Magic logo looks a bit better - hopefully update the TV bits and pieces too as it's been a long time.

Number 3 on Clubland's classix divas is.............Liz McClarnon. and Jessie J has managed to get in twice at 2 and 7

It's not dance but no other channel would play that song or her in general

I'm sure they used to play this version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHFflvgdvhQ

The strange thing is Liz McLarnon's Woman In Love cover is a forgotten flop from 2006. I have no idea why they keep playing her and calling her a diva.

At number 2 they had Jessie J, she isn't dance either just some awful screamer with no talent.

I still stand by my earlier statement - someone IS drunk at the wheel and I agree with you on Liz/Jessie J - but then again I am sure MTV Dance have played Jessie J a few times even if they were not exactly "dance" - these channels are becoming stranger by the week - what is the whole point in being a "genre" station and go down the so called pap route its unbelivable, it has to be record labels have got more control in their playlists or they have people that stupid they got no real clue in what is music?

MTV Classic is back on Monday but is entirely 90s and 00s music. Any 80s themed slots have gone from the schedule.

So does that mean VH1 should be playing more "classics" from say 70's & 80's? or is that just wishful thinking and ain't gonna happen (as usual)

EDIT: just checked VH1 guide for Mon/Tues - same old programming - power ballads is back on! VH1 may as well be renamed the Power Ballad Channel (also Beyonce/Pink on again) - short on ideas are we?

Nope Last time I saw that was on Flaunt.

The Vault just played 'F*ck It* by Eamon completely censored. It's after midnight, why do they need to censor it?

Don't recall that version, but it's an odd song on an increasingly odd channel.

Someone drunk at the wheel at Clubland here?? so Liz is now featured not long ago it was that Geordie Shore lass covering Milkshake - Clubland is going to hell .... or should that be most of these channels are!
It is bizarre. Your mate Cheryl is on their a fair bit too.

Jessie J was in their twice, but at least they got the number 1 right.

Oh dear.

Just used the Summer thing as an excuse to change route it appears.

Clubland - Eurodance day, but the top 25 selected doesn't appear to be any that they've actually played, so far....

About 6 Tiesto - Wasted, another 6 Bakermat - Vandaag and random others, but none i've actually selected on the app - I think they really do just choose the tunes themselves apart from the day it went wrong!

Still, random Cascada, amongst others, selected or not, is better than what they have been showing in previous months. I just wish they'd sort the app out as it's not me as tried on others phones and nothing...

80's music seems to have been moved on from music channels. Very little 70's music was ever played before too.

Problem is the 80's offered much more variety 90's and 00's music is still mostly cheesy pop being played like Blue and S Club 7. They ignore all the brit pop like Oasis and Blur.

It's not like they pick decent 90's music.

Ha! Clubland just crashed and played some requests then it played whatever you call the music that goes with the channel (in-between ads graphics etc) and came back straight away as it wasn't ad time with the same they've been playing all day - Bakermat. No doubt Tiesto is on his way with Wasted and some Basshunter and Avicii.

Went wrong for about 20 mins and played some Cascada, Milk Inc, Maroon 5 (yeah, still don't get the Eurodance thing there).

Asking a bit much for them to play some decent 90's music. When did that last happen?

I quite enjoyed Clubland before. They played Cascada, Vengaboys, Ace Of Base, Azuro ft Elly, Aquagen and Sak Noel.

You can really - these channels believe the viewers are fools (well some are anyway) pity more of these channels can't crash like they did back in the day and see what they have as "backup" but I can just see it being all up to date music!

Heck I remember when The Box crashed it was a blank screen (request song system starts running again yet songs requested before would be wiped out)

VH1/MTV - I am sure it was a mix of music really and that either they kept the DOG on or it was "altered" you knew it crashed as music played and the artist/song/album (year) would never appear on screen and run and once problem sorted it ran more back to normal - the golden days of music tv - now these days its all automated

No doubt. The people who do the programming must just copy each other

Yes, it's been good. My gripe is with the lack of plays of requests despite their claims that they play them all and the constant repeats of the same songs like Tiesto and Bakermat who they are clearly promoting and these charts that they say are from App requests, and if they were, why are they never played? Some requests in their charts don't see airtime and the ones that do all the time are mysteriously not in the chart.

Clubland have been pretending that requests make a difference for a long time now, ever since they stopped charging £1 yet their charts of requests are made up and have been exactly the same for a month now despite apparently being up to date.

Not complaining about the music (constant plays of certain songs twice hourly all day aside) but the fact they bullshine us viewers.

You can really - these channels believe the viewers are fools (well some are anyway) pity more of these channels can't crash like they did back in the day and see what they have as "backup" but I can just see it being all up to date music!

They don't care about viewers at all and I suppose all they want to do is keep viewers for their company. Viewers are not important to TV channels, just the money.

Programming: thats true its that repetitive these days you ain't missing anything - playlists is there something they don't want to play these days? They seem to really stick to well known tracks and on the odd occasion will play an obscure track/artist?

Viewers: I agree again with you on that but all these channels seem to be focused more these days on one generation and nothing more ... sad really

Money talks - It sure does and alot more, where is the viewer interaction these days? Oh yeah use twitter to request or text ie Clubland but on likes of The Box (no requests) but 4Music does? MTV - only interaction is programming as MTV Hottest but other than that nothing at all - I wonder if similar to Clubland if the viewers had more control would we see more half decent tracks on or back to square 1?

I'll add this - I heard Ottawan - D.I.S.C.O on BBC Radio 2 (this song use to always get played on VH1/VH1 Classic), was thinking to myself today I ain't seen that video been played on VH1 in ages (yet they always played it on their disco nights - not the ones they buggered up) again the good old days where these songs got you going and you could take a bit of a laugh at what was worn back then - now if songs like this get played they just speak about more of what was worn then and how "shameful" it is. I'll add this and we mentioned this a while ago but it too got me thinking when VH1 use to play Gary Glitter and how quick they got rid of him of his playlists yet stars of today seems to be do wrong we keep you on play (surely they should be reviewing artists and say temporary abandon airplay until such time ie court case then resume? I just find that is also strange!)
