He is like a virus. The likes of him, Florida and BOB are a part of what is wrong with the industry. Talentless hacks whose sole role is to cheapen the industry even more than it is by making acts sell out.
Music is an even bigger money making scam than ever. ![]() Sadly, very few make money from the music itself - it's all the endorsements etc they make their money from - it's the labels that make the money, hence why alot do reality TV. |

Well its money making through the film apperances, merchandise etc. I just wish British acts would realise that the US is not the be all and end all. Kate Bush has happily had years of success without cracking the US. |

Flo Rida and BOB aren't really that bad. It's the likes of Will.i.am, Adam Levine, Jessie J, David Guetta, Rihanna, Beyonce, Justin Bieber and One Direction that REALLY cheapen the industry and ruin it with their chavvy crap aimed at the worst possible people. I judge anyone who likes these talentless goons.

I'll put Flo-rida in my "good" books if he moves away from the current trend! I have to admit when I heard about 50 cent had done a "dance" album but later scrapped it I wonder why, possibly he knew it was going to be as crap as it is now! (again no 50 cent fan but I'll give him his credit on it!)

Kinda in a way explains Taio Cruz complete disregard for the UK, after Higher with Kylie he went straight downhill with me and had released his songs AFTER the US, his third album is only out on IMPORT (ok its downloadable - beats the point if you prefer CD and trying to support the artist) but I still have never seen the third album anywhere and yet haven't heard much from him since Fast Car (and that was generic as usual and well......shocking - hated it), why not if cracking US stay in touch with UK ie release songs at same time or something like that? The way I took on this was basically as a Thank you ---- Goodbye UK and I am off to US and as the way it looks it is exactly that!

Shows how much he thinks of us here. The thing is, when acts try to crack the US a lot of them loose their edge and just become clones.
![]() I'll admit if I didn't like his "original" versions of songs I would download the dance remixes (fair enough) but since he followed the trend it annoyed me to hell and can't stand it |

Bingo and exactly right - but then again I believe he owns a record company so I guess he is able to survive even if it goes wrong UK side, but again beats the point you have alienated your fans who followed you and you have said f..k off and thanks!

The beauty is, so much choice. Why follow someone that just turns crap when you can turn to someone else. If you look online and I mean REALLY delve, you can find better equivalents of the likes of Calvin Harris, Taio Cruz etc. Some of these may never make it big, but will still be doing music. Can I also say, it's nice to get a balanced view of music on here as opposed to the music forum with some of the Beyonce loons |

But that IS the problem, as mentioned its once UK has cracked lets go stateside - really??, and when you planning on returning? answers on a postcard
Why does it always have to be the US to crack? Why not our own doorstep...Europe? Germany/Sweden are big markets also there is the Far East + Oz/NZ. I'd rather have a legion of fans in Germany than America. |

This is it. What people forget is, and even some of the acts themselves only have a short shelf-life.

I must admit, I don't really look - I don't normally have the time, but i've been on leave, so spent more time online than I wanted - and I still haven't looked - I seem to enjoy the bits I do like and that's enough for me.
The only balance you find on here is us moaning at all the channels...I looked at the music threads earlier for the first time - reminds me why I don't like internet forums....same with Eurovision, very touchy lot most of them, who think they know it all.....and they do know more than me, but very touchy....and other sections of this place Do people really live like this?I only really come here for the music channels chat....got annoyed with them and looked on google to see if anything was mentioned about them and ended here.....I registered years ago but as a non internet forum person, barely posted. Yes we're complaining about the music channels, but it's BALANCED as opposed to fanboys of Beyonce et al hogging it saying we're wrong. Internet forums are scarey places indeed. There is a football one I go on, and some of them are people in their 50s/60s thinking they are stuck in the 1970s and very right-wing and Tory mad. Yes football is in a bad state....but no need to have Maggie Thatcher-esque ideals and force them onto people because you don't like the modern world. |
