LOL - nah it ain't that, just controllers are drunk at the wheel again

Someone mentioned Betty Boo on this thread - Radio 2 today played one of her songs in "pick of the pops" another artist I rarely see on VH1 let alone Bauer stations (exclude Vintage TV), yet she had a small comeback I think it was 2006 with Jack Rokka "push it" and once again another song that barely sees light of day!

I'll add I noted a few weeks ago (if I have mentioned apologies) that MTV Dance played Gusto Discos Revenge (90's original - not Freemasons edit) but played it at 10pm! Why can they not play these during the day? Its a dance channel FFS and that is DANCE!”

I can't remember back that far. I struggle to remember this morning

MTV are funny stations all round. Don't like them as a company. They promote safe sex (with MTV and all that) and then show Geordie Shore etc - the is just for 'Marketing'

Thats actually funny and agree with you on that - recently it was "ex on the beach" was sponsored by either it was durex or it was their "speak out" campaign , why would you give backing of a programme that showing quite the opposite of what your hoping to achieve? MTV are funny yet they seem to think all its viewers including it sister stations have an IQ of TOWIE or something as thats all we get!

Talentless Tweedy returned to the crap factor tonight. How many music channels are showing 'special' countdowns or programmes about this awful chav? I don't have any signal tonight because it's raining

I do have signal on Clubland though and they've got their 'Euphoric' and 'EDM' obsession again, they just played a few quite good songs but Martin Garrix was in a euphoric countdown earlier. How is his music euphoric? It's just rancid noise aimed at people who hate music.

Don't slag off The Nations Sweetheart (coughs coughs my ass) .... oh I know crap factor back on .... MTV/Bauer are possibly paid in advance to run these "special" countdowns, but lets remember this aint real music its crap!

MTV/Bauer suck right up, I just wish they could keep her music to one channel and let the rest BREATHE!

Random thought: who was it that said they would play REAL MUSIC (I am sure it was one of the MTV family either still going or defunct - any ideas? I have VH2 in my head yet think VH1 was the other!)

Euphoric aka be drunk or stoned not to remember what the track sounds like .... thank god for the 70-90's!

I agree.

I despise Martin Garrix and i find it offensive that Clubland even call it Trance in one of their countdowns a few weeks ago

Sick of all this EDM shite tbh i miss the traditional dance we used to have many years back when each genre had a distinct style and sound , today its all essentially the same.

Clubland's app is working today. I've just requested and they're playing my choices which is cool because I've never seen Blood Is Pumping by Voodoo & Serano. Also requested Kernkraft 400 and they played it straight away so must be a quiet night.

LOL - Cherylmania has started up again on these channels .... where is the OFF button?

I actually listened to that new one with Tinie Tempah - see the "saxophone/trumpet" parts of the song its near on border of TV programme "One Foot In The Grave" it was weird it was playing on Heatradio and watching One Foot on TV burst out laughing as to how identical it sounded (not the main theme of programme its more of the in programme music lol

This I agree with -you knew there was different "genres" in dance music but thats the problem these days a) its the same sound b) WTF is dance? c) classics are shoved to weekend play or the "after 10pm" slot (speaking of MTV mostly) d) will dance music go back to what it was?

I have to admit his name rings a bell but I possibly switch off as it starts I think in general music has lost its way and with the likes of MTV, VH1, The Box and Clubland they too have lost their way and that if they really CARED for music they would spot errors and actually set up better playlists but of course they couldn't give a toss as "other" programming is priority and music is second

hmmm fishy to me .... so they played 3 of 6 requests and suddenly go back to Garrix (even if it is a quiet night I still believe all requests should be played)

Clubland has played 'Scared' by slacker twice tonight, I've never heard this before and never seen it on music tv.

One minute Clubland are trying and showing some hidden gems like that song and Blood is Pumping the next they're being lazy and playing crap like Garrix, Tiesto and Calvin Harris which can be found on every other channel.

Edit: The same Garrix song comes on after every ad break.

To a degree seems like Clubland at times is doing what MTV Dance should be really doing - yet odd they have the same Garrix song stuck on after every ad break - makes no sense, someone in the programming department made a bugger up somewhere?

Slacker - Scared --- just looked on youtube supposedly it was out in 1997! and ITV had a show called "Club Nation"

Wow It worked? But surprisingly just for a bit before reverting back to type.

There is now a message on screen - Patience! Yr choice will come up.

That would make a change.

I requested 7 today and they only played one ATC - Around The World which was my first request so they probably only allow 1 vote per person in certain time period.

That's been there all day, do you think they realise that people can't see any voting info?

Ha!

One vote each is a bit naff - probably so they can play all their favourites.

One vote an hour, fair enough, but all day?

I only came in around 4.30 so missed the day - they played my first request after 16 minutes. My last request was 30 minutes ago and no show yet...don't forget we are voting in our THOUSANDS

Should, but they will argue we are not paying.

Would love to hear their excuses when texts were charged for.

and yet we have OFCOM who is meant to be watching these channels of any wrong doing ... seems more like they must sit in an office and play with staples - yet they have allowed MTV to fall its way, I find it rather strange and from reading on other threads that channels that stood for what they meant to be are going the very same direction as MTV - is that we call the MTV effect?

That still gets played? (sings the world goes la la la ... la la la) lol .... hmmm has MTV Dance played that song .... thinks possibly not! I aint seen Alcazar played in ages either on MTV/Bauer channels - yet I wonder if these artists are still going and big in Europe/home countries?

I am sure of one of these things .... either record labels do have a say in whats "acceptable" to play on a loop whilst if your looking for certain classics they will not see light of day .... is that down to the royalties of the artists or is that just these channels can't make a half assed attempt at doing something?

The last time I saw Alcazar was a few months ago on Clubland when they were having a Classix weekend. It was Crying at the Discotheque.

I think the music channels are scared of Ofcom as they're way too strict on what happens on TV these days. A channel can get fined or investigated for the smallest of things these days

So it means they just play the same songs in the same countdowns just to be safe and not get in trouble with Ofcom.

ATC are sometimes played on The Vault

Alcazar has been on a few times lately on Clubland.

Britney's odd mix now on Clubland. I still say it has nothing to do with Britney bar the video and 3 little bits. It's not the tune remixed, just another tune using Britney for exposure basically.

Is that not a bit of a double standard? Look at the ads for MTV ie Geordie Shore - punch ups galore and getting drunk (you get a rough idea in the daytime ad) yet nothing happens?

Music/OFCOM: bit weird that is it not? Some vids go to near extreme on daytime output ie Benny Banassi - Satisfaction/Rihanna - S&M yet its all fine but say its a video from the 90's it will still have the same censorship then but when we move with the times nothing changes (what gives??)

Alcazar - Crying at the Discotheque (love that song) - is that the only one they play? They had another 2 or is that again can't be bothered highlighting the other songs?

AAH so ATC still getting played on those channels but rarely elsewhere should I be that surprised? Not really but just shows you how "safe" MTV/Bauer playlists really are

Alcazar I have never seen them on any channels these days (apart from what you listed) but strikes me really odd - if these channels are now playing so called 90's-00's and todays music can they be more open and transparent in what they play?? Bad enough VH1 keeps repeating the same stuff day in day out - similar to the other stations not much surprised
