Phew
![]() Regarding the "charts" the amount of charts there is on these channels is a bit OTT - its fairly obvious that once they run through the chart your bound to see the same songs played again on another "chart" or in a "programme" (under a different name), why do all these channels actually provide better variety to the playlists (this goes for the likes of Heat, Smash Hits and MTV Hits, MTV Base, MTV Dance), they have the videos there so why not use them more? (or is it because they aint digitised yet?) as for charts I use to like them in the beginning but its got boring with me these days - a chart MTV makes for one of its sister stations eventually turns up on VH1 or vice versa (weird that you think VH1 is meant to be aimed at an older demographic or have they forgotten that?) That's another annoying thing - they play the same songs from the same artists. It was mentioned earlier that Heat played Brintey - Lucky - occasionally The Vault plays it, but that's it unless on a rare Britney show it appears. Cascada - Miracle - on Clubland's label but do they have it? Apparently not. MTV Dance play a clip of it when they are running through the top 50 dance anthems of the 00's, but play two other songs as they sold more - fair enough, but it shows they have the track, so why not play it? |

I have all her albums on my iPod but I still watch her videos on TV if they come on and I get up and dance around the room I've only listened to Britney today and I've got my Circus Fantasy perfume on. It's one of those days

No, they play loads of Britney songs - Radar and Break The Ice has been played a lot of late. It's usually, Baby One More Time, Toxic, Oops..., Born To Make You Happy etc etc though.

I'm ok with charts - just not the same ones over and over and outside of the Official Top 40, top 10's maximum and make them worthwhile, not top 10 should have been number ones or top 10 karaoke songs that are the opinions of office staff.
That's another annoying thing - they play the same songs from the same artists. It was mentioned earlier that Heat played Brintey - Lucky - occasionally The Vault plays it, but that's it unless on a rare Britney show it appears. I have noticed if MTV Dance does Old Skool - Nomad is never off, yes I like the song but there is other ones you could play surely not? That was I that mentioned Britney Lucky (4Music though) - again I thought it was rare seeing that on - why do they not play more of this stuff prior to 1999? (or even further 1970?) MTV Dance/Cascada - I have only seen her first song being played and "evacuate the dancefloor" but thats only on countdowns don't really see any of her songs on during the day (I assume another artist shunted to late play) Why not for the sake take VH1 as an example why can they not show "10 of the best" from yesteryear? They be playing artists that possibly never seen light of day! I'll throw in another couple artists/songs - under "have they been played since release" Tina Turner - When The Heartache Is Over Diana Ross - Not Over You Yet (had to look on Youtube as I remembered the video but not the song lol) just taking these 2 artists as examples I doubt those songs are not touched by a barge pole (may not have been big hits for them but still they made their mark even in the 90's early 00's) |

The charts need a major overhaul (even the made up ones! why not ask viewers on what they would like to see in a top 10 or why not ask artists theirs? ie without the "plugging")

I don't think the charts are meant to be serious, I just wish they'd be a bit more original. Top 10 of one artist on one channel is the same as top 10 of the same artist on another, bar The Vault that touch things other channels wouldn't.

As for Top 10 (insert artist) - when you see it on MTV it will be the same playout on VH1 As far playout - you seem right there anything before is slowly or is phased out (there is more music that can still get played or they ashamed to play it due to the "fashion" that was worn back then? Care to look closer to home?) Cascada - personally I would hope MTV Dance/The Box will play it on Friday (but your right it'll be swept under the carpet) ![]() VH1 - I use to think it was a classic channel but these days it comes more across as VH1 for the MTV generation its fallen from grace sadly As for the 2 songs I mentioned not that surprised yet they play their other songs (irony of all) ie Tina Turner - Simply The Best and possibly Diana Ross - Chain Reaction I just looked those songs up as I heard Tina's When The Heartache Is Over on BBC Radio 2 couple weeks ago - I find it shocking really its usually radio you find these songs yet (if you want to include Youtube), yet MTV/Bauer don't touch them

Don't get me wrong about charts not meant to be serious - its just a pity though whoever thinks of these charts/programmes have an IQ a size of a peanut (they should know the YEAR the song appeared not throw it in randomly just to fill in a gap)

It will be Clubland if anywhere and if lucky, their sister channel, Planet Pop - if they even bother despite it being on their label. The World Is In My Hands and Rhythm of the Night were not even played. Turner or Ross are rarely played anywhere - any song. |

Cool. I don't even remember seeing it in VH1 and I watch that channel a fair bit. I've seen Work Bitch on there loads of times. I saw I'm Not A Girl on a Britney show back in April and maybe on a movie show once. Haha I don't think she would start singing the song as she probably doesn't know it. She ain't no Britney fan

Smash Hits had it a while but gone back to Scream & Shout. Last night had Britney v Christina top 20 on MTV Classic and on again this evening. Heat have a Britney/Christina thing at the moment too - Heat played Crazy, Born To Make You Happy, Oops, Baby One More Time, Womanizer... MTV Classic was Britney at 20, 18 ,16 ,14 ,12 ,9, 7, 5, 3, 1 Stronger, Sometimes, Toxic, Oops, Baby One More Time, Womanizer, Slave 4 U,, Gimme More, Crazy, Everytime - not in that order though Tonights repeat will likely be the same. |

I don't mind mistakes, it's when they are not rectified/continuous. If they can't know a year, and they are paid to program, then don't bother with years.

So why play artists in first place then to silently drop them from airplay -is that not the chance of backfiring? (or already is?), I ain't into Cascada personally but I still would expect the songs (if new or old) still be played than this "random" thing they have going! Diana Ross - mostly Vintage TV (same with Tina), last time I checked - most of these channels are aiming themselves at one demographic and alienating others (not surprised) |

Re Cascada's Miracle, it was actually the only track of theirs licenced to a rival label of AATW, who released it hot on the heels of Everytime We Touch, pissing off AATW. So I'm not surprised they don't ever play that!

However, they told me, after I emailed them in 2012 and received a rare reply, they couldn't find the video for Miracle, or that of Night Nurse, which they played a year earlier and another I asked about, which may have been Au Revoir. I'm sure I have the email somewhere, which is bizarre as they are on that label. What label loses their own artists videos? So I just assume it was a lie. They also never played Rhythm of the Night or The World Is In My Hands from 2013, which is a little bizarre not promoting your labels own acts considering they over promote others. I'm not even sure if they'll play 'Madness' when it's released on Friday. Either way, they are the only channel to play dance artists that others won't touch. We all like to have a moan, but they deserve some credit for recently changing playlists so everybody will be happy. Oh and 23rd September 2014 - happy birthday Natalie Horler I know she won't read this, but just in case she does, my wife says you can be my one out of marriage bit of fun ![]() ![]() so if you're ever single, i'm your man ![]() ![]()

The only random thing MTV Dance have going is randomly going in different directions. Vintage's most played tracks are played 5 or 6 times a week - shows how many different tracks they play. MTV Dance in general - your telling me, the channel has became more confused over the years! Vintage TV - again only when I tune in but at least they are able to use an archive of classics (even on a loop thats different to that of VH1!) I still think these channels need a major overhaul and actually choose the direction they are going in as we can't have the same songs on heavy rotation, whilst at same time invest in better music programming (MTV Live expands its archives and goes back further) Did someone mention that MTV Classic has recently started playing more songs from the 90's? Oh look they can play ARCHIVED live programming or why not I throw something into it .... why not repeat old Beavis and Butthead and Singled Out since well the channel is called MTV Classic(?), by the way I ain't for this stuff been shown on there but since MTV (main is home of all things new they may as well use another for old shows!) |

MTV Dance is not a channel I frequent too often now. Early morning you may get a surprise as with 90s v 00s. I don't think it's in their interests to have wider playlists. The heavy promoting of certain artists/agent etc is label induced. Why do you think some get artists presenting countdowns? It's promotional. All of a sudden that artist is everywhere with their songs, because it's part of the promotional package. Artist/label first, viewer last. |

Top 20 voted for via the App currently on - number 7 and no Cascada so far - 3 Basshunter's a couple of Avicci, a couple of Milk Inc. No Scooter either, which surprises me as along with Basshunter, always appears to be on.
Oooh, wait, Cascada number 5 - all that app voting means the others are less voted for than Milk Inc - one of the songs in this chart has barely been played, so another case of people voting but not getting what they request or people not voting and getting what they are given. It says on the EPG that ATB are in their, just for Hmeister (doesn't say that bit) and not played yet, so it must be top 4! |

I've only listened to Britney today and I've got my Circus Fantasy perfume on. It's one of those days
