Already in an MTV chart for something - funniest video or something

MTV Live SD was around before they let HD go to Sky subscribers. Now SD is back and you must pay more for HD.

Yeah, Goodier was another good one when he done the charts. He's now a voiceover on Now.

Yep, Carly Rae wasn't even a mix, just the straight out cheesefest original.”

I think exclusives from artists has gone extinct - I use to always look forward to an "exclusive" video on MTV (no idea why - maybe it was just a bit of excitement as it beat The Box?) I am surprised they are getting videos 7-14 days later after anyone else - anytime I tune in it looks like they got the vids there and then but if your spotting them then seems like something is off .... yet here we speaking about labels! .... that song is awful so is the vid - 1 - looks like a nichole schrizinger rip off 2 - why have the so called "swearing" in the song - sounds like she trying to sound like Jessie J/Pink - sorry Cheryl you ain't and grow up!

I don't have SD version on VM but have HD version though - possibly VM in a way see no point in doubling up a channel with MTV (yet I have MTV/MTV HD but no MTV Live SD hmmm)

Goodier also use to do Smooth Radio I believe and has done Radio 2 at Christmas/New Year (last year) wonder if he will do it again

I think it is. I think the whole remix ruins the whole essence of the song. Haha it would be funny if she did, but unfortunately she's too posh to wear such a thing She tends to wear suits or low-cut dresses. I wish she would wear an Aguilera t-shirt just to wind me up I wonder how many Britney songs she really knows?

Well, Starz and Planet Pop, as well as CSC, seem to get the most exclusives, not the big two, MTV and Bauer, which says it all really. Which two want reality and the others want music.

Cheryl's vid does remind me of a Nicole vid. Both rubbish mind

I don't know how they decide the channels. Many grey suits in a room I would imagine.

Never listened to Smooth Radio. Maybe he will make a comeback!

Well, it's just been on at number 2 in Clubland's ride of 2004 - was it released then? The remix, not the original (which was number 1 on my Birthday in 2004 I am often told!)

Your lecturer has a secret. She was the choreographer for Oops...I did it again.

Thats possibly true - yet you think MTV above all else would keep the "exclusive" crown and as you say shows you what they are most concerned about....

Cheryl vid - aaah so not just me then (rollseyes)

Decide channels - no idea here - I presume possibly goes with what they might interest the viewer?

Smooth Radio - listened to it a few times its OK

Oh yeah forgot to mention this I noticed 4Music advertising a new programme called "brave new girl" (I may have title wrong) but its about a Transgender - I am getting more confused by 4Music at night these days!

Well they still play "music" (or at least some) during the day .... so what do we call them if they ain't "music" channels? As they are technically listed on EPG's on Cable and possibly Sky as "music" as they are mixed in with the likes of The Box (Bauer) and MTV Base (MTV/Viacom) ?

The whole situation as well as what these channels are meant to be needs a major overhaul thats for sure.

On VM MTV/BET are roughly in same area so why not then move VIVA/4Music in this area then be simpler then if "music" is not there thing?

Doesn't seem like they are bothered. Jessie J's new on is on there today, about a week after everyone else and they are making a point of it being a new video.

Interest the viewer? When did they last think of the viewer?

Seen the advert for Jenna....more trash. Which reminds me, when I first saw Rita Ora, I thought she was a transexual

Entertainment channels. 4Music can get away with being in the music section more than Viva can

Viva is 357 on Sky, 4Music is 360 - Music channels run continuously from 350 to 372, then 374,376,378,383,385,386,387,388, so they are firmly inside the music channel listings.

My Channel plays music too - usually a top 10 - one of the channels, My Channel or Showcase? play Heyday - today was Whitesnake amongst others.

It might well have been, I don't know. It could have been on Britney's remix album. I don't have any of the remix albums. Haha what makes you think that?! It could be a well-kept secret, who knows?

Should really ask since when did channels consider the viewers? I could not remember the girls name in ad but that name rings a bell - but why is this on 4Music? Surely be better aimed on E4? The 4Music name scrapped I reckon as by night the music is off til 1.30am!

I will agree with you on that 4Music plays more music than VIVA does but I still think it should not really be in "music" listings if by night its craparama whilst on VIVA the crap kicks in just after midday(?)

VM - Viva is 317 and 4music is 330 - Bauer is 330-338 (then Vintage 340) then Kerrang 342 MTV stations is 310-317

Yeah 4music is crap music by day, crap reality by night.

Sounds similar to Sky - all channels kept together from same company.

After what I said the other day. I think MTV got an exclusive - Jlo and Iggy - saw it later on Planet Pop, so not sure who got it first. Absolutely woeful mind.

4Music - what does it exactly mean?

The grouping of channels I did wonder about that but it does by the look of things have MTV on one side and Bauer on the other

JLO/Iggy - I'll assume its called "booty" .... that was advertised on the VM site couple weeks ago .... so yeah it seems the channels themselves are late with vids an "exclusive" though you say? Thats a laugh already! I ain't heard the song but title is enough for me .... sweet mother Jlo since when could you sink that low for a title - you think its actually Rihanna with that title or Beyonce!

#47 Cascada - Evacuate The Dancefloor - Official Dance Hits of 21st Century
That seems to be the only one I ever see on these channels or Everytime We Touch - I know she has more hits (from forum members in here) but are we really that stuck on a loop regarding playing songs these days?

Nice to see Magic TV playing 80s hits tonight (50 Greatest 80s Party hits ever!) as it's rare to see any 80s on the BOX TV network anymore.

Aren't the channel 4 owners involved as lots of their programming is Channel 4 or E4.

Think it's Booty. Awful song it really is.

Two biggest songs Only Clubland play other songs.

That was No.47 - No 46, on Official Dance Hits - Rihanna - Where Have You Been.

Shameful.

Clubland has been playing a couple of forgotten classics like

Neo Cortex - Elements
Ascension - For a Lifetime (Oceanlab Remix)
Divine Inspiration - The Way

Which are great tunes IMO.

AATW should axe Planet Pop and replace it with a classic dance channel called 'Club Retro'

Now Music is exactly like Planet Pop a majority of the time so why not rid of Planet Pop as Now Music is new songs and hit music based too.

Just a shame it has to be a 'chart' for the channel to actually play 80s music. Why can't these channels show 'Classic Hits' without a chart!?

Yeah I believe so .... more like Bauer/Channel 4 run those channels! - Channel 4 programming should just stick to their own stations ie E4/More4/Ch4 - 4Music at times is just crap I may watch the odd 8 out of 10 cats but there is nothing on there! Adding the Chelsea lot on it is making the channel sink to lower depths!

Thank god I aint heard

Cascada - I am just amazed that they just stick to same songs from certain artists (pretty sure this chart was on before!) - so how the heck can you go from Cascada (dance artist) to Rihanna(?) she isn't exactly "dance" is she? That song was made by Calvin Harris! I changed after it finished luckily! Cascada song was released in June 2009!

Would be a good idea. I'd axe NOW as it seems pointless and they can have the Retro channel next to Clubland.

Bliss have started playing 80's music. I know it's not Bauer though. I'm sure Magic will play 80's music that isn't Whitney Houston soon enough.

They never seem to play the most played videos more than six times a week, so that's less than once a day. Adds to the excitement as to what tune will be up next - something you've never seen or a gem that had slipped your mind.

I've said it many times before, but charts that are not the official charts, should be banned. If they just played random music and got the likes of Miquita, Will Best et al off the wage bill, they can use that money to make better channels.

8 ot of 10 cats is ok. Reality is MTV like.

Yep, 2009 - the song that kept Jacko off No 1 when he died.

Rihanna was played a few times. Only one was Calvin Harris, the rest were just Rihanna's usual POP nonsense.

Viacom sharpens Spike in UK:

https://www.c21media.net/viacom-sharpens-spike-in-uk/

The channel will show mixture of Channel 5 content and new shows bought in from Spike USA. VIVA will no longer be on Freeview and some of the content will move over to Five*. It will be controlled by Channel 5 people instead of the clueless people that operate VIVA. But this will mean Freeview will be down to just one music video channel.
