Those songs aren't 1989 are they? They were late 90's?

But how can "negative" feedback be "trolling" or "hating" they ask for feedback from viewers - what else do they want? Sun shining from their backsides? Yet they wonder why viewers are abandoning the channels but of course the simple solution is to become a entertainment channel to solve issues (really? what'll be next if further viewer decline - close? well d'uh! Cheryl - can she sing "she can't speak french" instead since well her name is french supposedly (rollseyes) ”

The Planet Pop app is a disaster. Never played my song in the few hours they could have. Instead, One Direction, Ed Sheeran and one or two others repeated over and over and over, plus Five Seconds Of Summer - Don't Stop, must have been played 8 or 9 times. What a joke. I only wanted one play.

The thing is they only want positive feedback. Sure, they don't want this is crap etc etc, but constructive criticism should be taken on board.

Playing the same song more than once every couple of hours is a no no, yet some play the same song 3 times an hour.

VH1 had that cake programme twice yesterday. 12pm and then again at 7pm....approx 4 hours long?

Looks brighter. Better than what it was, but some of the graphics are a bit childish.

Well I'm the same. I listen to the music I like and I don't care what anyone else thinks of my music taste ”

You were asking if maybe she wanted to be in BOMT remake?

If I cared what people thought of my music taste, i'd be in trouble!

Most people are stunned I like dance music as I look like a rocker (apparently).

I do like Rock Music, but not much of what the 'Rock' channels cater for - it's more 'Dad Rock'

We need a Dad Rock channel - and no it's not called Vintage

The songs I mentioned yes were late 90's but only one song from 1989 (supposedly) - but thats the thing being in control (or I should say it loosely in control) and watching the channels its the same songs just stuck on rota - viewers request something be on that actual playlist (or app) still gets no play but happily play whats already been on repeat - You could watch MTV Dance all day and sure as fate what you seen on one show will appear in less than 2 hours later

I agree that these channels should be taking on criticism but its like at same time they don't care - so why ask for feedback or to "email" them your thoughts if they are going to ignore it but will respond to the ones that are "happy" with it?

I noted the "better than cake" programme on for 7pm but if you said it was on earlier wouldn't be at all surprised! VH1 controllers must be short on programming!

Nope! I just wanted to ask her something about college. I haven't asked her yet but someday I will. I wonder if she would agree to it if I did ask her? She was happy enough and she didn't mind talking to me at all. She never does! Haha I don't know what people would think if I cared what they thought. I've been in a few arguments over music taste. What would you name a 'Dad Rock' channel if one existed?

They may as well brand it to MTV Shows or MTV2 on Sky as that what it is.

Good grief they already had a channel called MTV Shows and that just became MTV Music they should rebrand MTV Rocks back to MTV2 though!

I think the issue of "haters" - in an age where now democracy is not what it delivers and people being persecuted for speaking against issues, this is why we have all of this.

Twitter/Facebook are monsters that have created the cult of a personality for musicians as opposed to the cult of their craft.

One thing today with music, so many similar sounding acts! Take boybands. Cast your mind back to 1995 - you had Take That who did the poppier songs, Boyzone with ballads and East 17 with an edge usually mixing dance and rap with their songs. Now, you can't tell One Direction, The Vamps, Five Seconds of Summer apart! All even look a like!

I would prefer listening to Boyzone/Take That (their new one is quite good!)/east 17 but your right the boybands of today look/sound the same - its a phase give it time you'll see these channels call them names under the sun soon

Me too! OK some of the stuff wasn't exactly fab, but there was character with them all not a money-making machine like today's similar looking and sounding boybands. OK, The Wanted had a couple of assholes in the group, but they had their own sound and image and were not copying.

I admit in the 90's I was more of a Five fan but since that The Big Reunion I just bang my head against the table!

I ain't into "the wanted" but some of their songs was basically the same beat (well nearly) and yet they too were plastered on MTV Dance

I think if we to compare artists of the 90's to todays music I would say this:
90's: it was fun music - heck you had songs that involved "mario brothers" and "tetris" - you had Snap/Jam n Spoon/Urban Cookie Collective/Culture Beat - mostly European music and ok "cheesy" as well likes of Aqua/Five
10's: its basically the same dance beat - music of yesteryear gets slated on those very channels that played them (as listed above) whilst music of today is crowned "cream of the crop" - its basic noise, I hardly find music of today "fun" yes I may sing a long to say Jason Derulo or i'll listen to more chilled out songs ie Nico and Vinz but music these days its more dance than anything else - everyone is in on the act

I thought that programme was all about songs from 1989.

I think they ask for feedback to make people think their views are important, when in reality, they are not.

Who knows. Maybe she needs a career change?

Dad Rock Channel sounds good.Or if that's sexist.........Classic Rock!

Clubland's 26 most selected on the app of 2014 is bizarre.

Half of them have been played a handful of times and a few of them are new videos.

It's basically 26 songs off the new Clubland 2 album, not 26 most selected songs of 2014.

Doubt it. She seems to be happy enough! She's been lecturing in law since 1995 in three different universities and she's been at mine since 1999. What were you doing in 1999? One of my friends hates her because he thinks she's sullen and boring, but he finds her sexy. Bizarre I think she's fine. I think a Classic Rock channel sounds better. Dad Rock sounds a bit sexist and implies that only dads listen to that kind of music. We can't have the equality brigade (including my lecturer) complaining, can we?

Taylor Swift & Friends programme - No VH1 was running it like the past 25 years ie from 1989-2014 (obviously 2014 would be Taylor), I was surprised they played some Faith Hill and Shania Twain

Feedback - the whole lot of them might as well scrap that idea as they couldn't care less

1999 - I was having a baby - well, not physically. Yourself?

Equality brigade or Feminism brigade who apparently today have been selling T-Shirts for £45 made somewhere by people on 62p an hour. One body who feels they are seen as inferior abusing another....no....never

Oh I see. That's a bit rubbish then. I thought it was a 1989 programme but in fact it's just another 'Favourite Girls 89-present programme.

No, they don't care at all. All they care about is the £££'s coming in from whoever pays them to promote their artists. Viewers mean nothing.

Oh and starting today at 9am - Christmas on Heart

I was in primary school and I was starting to get interested in computers and technology. 1999 is also the same year Britney came out first. Coincidence, huh? I think my lecturer belongs more to the equality brigade. I don't think she's a feminist type or she doesn't appear to be that type anyway. I saw that about the T-shirts. Disgusting

LOL .... I think we shouldn't be that surprised by these channels - they are that quick these days to throw the 70's 80's under the bus and move onto the 90's, I just wish we had a way we had more "nostalgia" channels but that aint going to happen

thats true they only care about £££'s but MTV should feel more guilty to be running teleshopping on all their channels compared to their competitor Bauer - they are at least doing something!

Christmas on Heart - 2 November and thats a channel started

Speaking of Heart, on their TV channel I've realised that on the music videos they show, they don't use the soundtrack from that particular video. Instead they use the audio from the actual song (which you hear on radio etc..) Example: I saw Ray Parker Jr's Ghostbusters yesterday. When the various 80s celebrities pop up doing the catchphrase "Ghostbusters!", their lines have been removed so you can only hear the backing singers. You can still see them though.
