I think most of us see it as car crash TV.

I'm more intrigued than anything.

That doesn't make sense Current songs would only become classics if they're iconic or influential enough or if they have been big hits. How many songs from the 2010s have the potential to become classics in 20-30 yrs time? How far back does their video library go?”

I'm late 30's so i'd probably find her hot

Well, I don't imagine they go back much further than 2008 - They only have 3 Britney tracks and Womanizer is the oldest. No Cascada tracks. I don't really look at much of what they play but I don't think much before 2008 is played on the classics programme.

Not many channels leave it in these days. I've not watched enough to determine who has and has not, yet.

Most of those haven't seen the light of UK TV for years.

The listings also show no Teleshopping on Christmas day morning, as usual.”

Is VH1 Classic Europe online or is it available on Sky Add Channels?

He was on X Factor but has been presenting for Chart Show TV.

Apparently he's gone in today?

You need wall to wall Cliff to cheer yourself up. Sounds about right that people didn't turn up. It's not all wall to wall Christmas but no Brintey programmes for a couple of days now. Various bits around though on Bauer and Planet Pop.

Clubland only play these in their 90's programmes, but it's better than the other channels.

Their app is not being used much now either. Eurodance Thursday today and the usual app selections were not around today, instead Clubland chose the songs and the app was blank. Maybe it's not been the success they had hoped.

CS Dance is also now Dance Xmas but it's all the same songs - no Xmas songs yet. Only seen Cascada - Last Christmas twice - MTV Classic and Bliss on Katie Price's show - song played about 35 mins in, so 25 mins time it's on.

So how is it that Clubland can access these videos but our MTV/The Box channels can't? - have they thrown our their archive of videos or is it the can't be assed playing?

If they were to run the app with Eurodance Thursday, I would hope they would have a big archive of hits from Gala (she had 2 as far as I remember lol) - the problem I still have with it all is the lack of play of other songs from the acts

MTV Classic - Katie Price .... thats MTV Classic in the coffin! You really want to smack some of them in charge of playing these songs!

Haha Well I'll have to show you a pic sometime but I won't post it on here What are the other two Britney tracks? That's not really much of a classics show if they don't play any pre-2008 music!

What series of X Factor was he on? That's right. I saw him for a few minutes on tonight's episode. I don't think that'll work (bitch) Talking to my favourite lecturer did cheer me up though. I was afraid I'd cry in her office again (a fine Oops I Did It Again moment as it happened to me back at the beginning of April ) but it didn't happen. Just as well I'm not sure I could face a repeat of what happened to me on April 3rd. Funny how I remember the date! She was nice to me as usual though and I saw her again an hour later and she smiled and said hi to me. She looks cute when she smiles One of my friends was laughing when I said that. Maybe I do have a little crush after all?

Aw that's a pity Guess I'll just have to use Youtube to watch my Britney vids!

The Christmas stuff's likely to pick up further over the coming couple weeks, once we hit December it'll probably go turbo... Not sure what the point of 'Dance Xmas' is when they've got Blissmas, mind. There's also been big chunks of Christmas video stuff on Heart, Magic and Vintage, and Viva was doing a Christmas countdown earlier today - of course, this being Viva's last Christmas before it gets Spiked, next year 4Music will have Christmas all to itself on network Freeview...

I think MTV/Bauer aren't overly fussed about older music. Music for teenies I think.

They did use the App for Eurodance but yesterday wasn't one of them. Couldn't tell you what they did have.

Bliss is Katie Price - she has two shows on their right now.

Ha! Upload her to Starz.

The other two were Work Bitch and Scream & Shout (well, it's Britney and Will I Am - I hate 'featuring')

He was on this year but he was going back as he went on another year - couldn't tell you what year as I don't watch it.

You could use Mistletoe and then play Mistletoe and Wine!

Work Bitch is one of my fave Britney songs and my lecturer's theme! She makes us all work (bitch). I heard from someone in her Labour Law class this year that she gets mad when people don't answer her questions. I don't really watch X Factor either but mum has taken a liking to it so I've had to sit through a few episodes I hate it! It's really an entertainment show rather than a music show. It all seems so fake to me.

Haha are you suggesting that I kiss her under the mistletoe? Am I supposed to hang it over her office door? I could be seen! Even if I did do that though I don't think I'd kiss her on the lips in case someone sees me. I'd just give her a friendly peck on the cheek. I can't believe I'm typing this!

Sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks for taking the trouble to provide that list. By some coincidence I've just started receiving this channel so will monitor it with interest. The show "Boogie Wonderland" is on at the moment and it's playing a mixture from 70s to early 00s. Most of it is obvious hits, but that's what I expected.

You think they would well MTV especially - why does MTV/Viacom aim channels like VH1/MTV Classic to the older generation (I mean this in the politest way) and Bauer uses Smash Hits (possibly Heat without the tacky stuff - yet the radio station sounds better than the channel!)

Yep sure does just googled it - 6m 47 secs is the vid length (I knew it was a long video but not that long!) again its channel Vintage TV that seems to be picking up by playing some songs that don't get touched by MTV/VH1 these days! (I don't get MTV Classic but VH1 is like watching paint dry)

It's become that way. I used to really enjoy the channel but I don't any more. I know they're playing almost wall to wall Christmas songs at the moment but even before they played the Christmas songs it was boring. All they were showing was chart rundowns and "Hits of 2014" shows. Shame really

I wouldn't mind knowing what VH1 Europe actually does compared to the UK - is it MTV ad free (do they advertise the VH1 programmes?) do they run charts or is it just basic music programming.

I know the UK has a different culture to the rest of Europe but looking at it in a different perspective it makes you wonder what the hell has gone wrong!

Same here I enjoyed VH1 but its since they started bombarding the VH1 viewer with MTV ads - its been a right turn off for me, this and including repeated ballads and the official top 40 -- VH1 has nothing going for it!

For VH1 I would ask this - Where are the "themed" programming? Say Rock/Motown/Disco or 60's--80's music or why does VH1 not play old MTV programming from 90's (suggestion) as they need to do something with it as its a channel I have lost real interest in that and along with MTV Base/Dance

In mainland Europe, they have VH1 and VH1 Classic

Both of them are ad free, 24/7 music channels. They don't have any MTV promos unlike our VH1.

Here are the schedules for today

VH1 Europe
06:00 Rise And Shine With VH1
08:00 Pure Saturday Hits
12:00 Perfect Pop! The Noughties (Top 100 Chart)
20:00 Total Pop Party
00:00 VH1 Shuffle

VH1 Classic Europe
06:00 Nothing But Classics
11:00 We Are The 80s
13:00 80s Vs 90s
14:00 90s Vs 00s
15:00 Smells Like The 90s
16:00 Sounds of the 00s
17:00 All Time Hits
21:00 Totally Club Classics
00:00 All Time Hits

Having spent a little while watching VH1 Classic, it seems to be on autopilot unfortunately and showing just Top 10 hits. Back when it was programmed in Poland it used to have much more interesting slots. It feels quite wrong to see music from the 00s on there, but time moves on.

The VH1 European/VH1 Adria schedule is awful. Again, almost complete emphasis on only the 'biggest' hits and highly unimaginative countdowns. Even VH1 Adria which used to have its own themed weekends now takes the same countdown themes as the European feed.

The advantage is the complete lack of promos and ads. VH1 Classic is still in 4:3 ratio, so no cropping of videos on there.

Heck VH1 Europe seems more a schedule I would at least tune into (possibly the Pop Party)

VH1 Classic Europe - well look at that the are at least keeping the 80's up to the 00's on, is it recently MTV Classic has moved from 80's and is now more focused on 90's to today

So another thing VH1 Europe channels are - they are ad free and they broadcast 24/7 (and NO MTV Promos - who would have thought that? ) and whilst we look at us in UK what do we get 20/7 (the 20 is for gap of "teleshopping" we carry on VH1 can be slightly wrong) and its heavily promoting MTV or the now recent Channel 5 (oh the irony of it all) can we just get reconnected to the European channels once more? I rather that UK viewers paid their Sky/VM subs to the European versions to our UK lot its ridiculous and something needs to change

Kinda like when MTVNHD was around then renamed to MTV Live HD and was taken from Poland control to UK - thats another channel that has lack of imagination going for it - seems like our European channels seem to have at least ideas going for it.

The one thing I hate with our channels in UK is the "cropping" or "stretched" effect to the videos - why can they just keep them in original ratio?

Put her on Starz, record it, show it to her and tell her it's a Xmas Present and she can select one song for free

You should remember who Jake Quickenden is then

Do you have a Christmas Ball? Maybe some Cliff at the ball? Some mistletoe?

I'm guessing it doesn't get the viewers, yet the youngsters are on YouTube and whatever else they use.

Katie Price had another show for CSC i'm sure. It was earlier this year and she was wearing the same thing so they must have recorded her Xmas shows in April or something. Or she doesn't have many clothes.

In other words really MTV/Viacom/Bauer are more than happy to alienate a generation out of these channels? (I get the point of times change blah blah) but come on - its like they are afraid to play certain songs too (which they use to play back in 90's) so what gives why play the "safe" card?

I don't know if she would be happy with that What would the viewers at home think? Hey, what would DS'ers think? Actually I hadn't heard of him before I'm A Celebrity, but I don't pay a lot of attention to 'zelebs' anyway No we only have end of exams parties in the SU bar and as I'm not doing exams this year (doing a Masters and we have essays instead) I mightn't be attending. If we had a Christmas ball then maybe I would have put some mistletoe up, but I don't know if she would appreciate it If one of her colleagues found out she could be sacked and she's a labour law expert so she knows how to claim unfair dismissal and all that stuff
