Old Skool Dance Anthems on KISS tv tonight (no errors but surely rename the show?) but same songs I have seen countless times

Ultra Nate - Free (yes its a good song but she had follow up songs why not play the more lets say "unknown" in this?)
Rui Da Silva - Touch Me (on MTV Dance/Kiss - "old skool" no change there)
Roger Sanchez - Another Chance (another song thats never off), why not play his follow up "you can't change me" instead?
and finally....
The Source - You Got The Love 2006 remix - again why not play the first one or the 98-99 remix?
On again?!?! It was only on Last Sunday!

Had a bit of a music TV flashback the other day - my TimeHop showed me a picture of WTF TV, I'd taken a pic because they were playing Carrie Underwood - first time I'd seen her videos played on UK television!

Who remembers WTF? They were quite short lived I think... B4 is still one of my most missed channels!

WTF used to play all genres of music - even country often and not just the usual suspects - some Carrie Underwood and Reba Mcintyre! B4 was a fantastic station too. Just a shame the powers that be, will not accept diversity as it was in 2006 or 2011/2 in WTF's case. Be interesting to see where these channels stand we have now in 2020.

Saw an advert on 4music for Rich Down South - considering most ordinary Brits are struggling and wages have gone down in value, it's a bit of a slap in the face. On the wealth side, another add for Pop Power list - ffs who cares!! Also a lot of these countdowns seem to be the same songs but different names. "Happy", "Rather Be" would be dead songs 10 years ago.

Youtube is indeed the music channel we have cried out for, and let's be fair YT covers all bases and all styles.

Was never really fan of WTF, yes they had a varied playlist but it wasn't a very good playlist. It just didn't appeal to me and both Massive R&B and Planet Pop which replaced it have been awful too.

Planet Pop would be better off becoming Clubland Classix as there's way too many chart pop channels. I was hoping that Planet Pop would be a classic pop channel when they first announced that Massive R&B was changing.

Guys, wake up. The Music channels post global meltdown are all risk averse. This is why you see the same million selling singles over and over again. They play it safe to survive.

For anything close to diversity you have to watch The Vault who do play a variation and not the same old "classics". If you like late 90's/00's pop Heat play a lot of 'forgotten' songs...like the JoJo track hadn't seen that for years.

Good grief ... this is where I would rather just see "Behind the music" and the alike back on VH1

Are the controllers at VH1 really that short on different programming let alone playing actual different music?

VH1 - More VH1 (More of the same crap day in - day out)

Bring back the days of VH1 where we had disco, rock, pop nearly everything was covered these days its basically playing safe

50 songs you hear on the bus and finally......
50 songs you hear in your local supermarket

Whenever I tune into Heat its the same forgotten tracks - They could play songs like La Bouche - Be My Lover, A.D.A.M FT Amy - Zombie (I have not seen any channel air these songs in years), these are just 2 examples but Heat ain't that better either - I was expecting either Heat or Smash Hits to be a "classic" channel but its same modern day pap thats on, I don't have The Vault on VM but I only see VH1/Vintage TV for "classics" but Vintage TV in my mind seem to play some forgotten gems more than VH1 let alone Heat

Looks decent if you like that sort of thing.

Who remembers WTF? They were quite short lived I think... B4 is still one of my most missed channels!
Yes, it became Massive RnB and then Planet Pop. Was decent as it played all sorts.

I still miss Bubble Hits.

Saw an advert on 4music for Rich Down South - considering most ordinary Brits are struggling and wages have gone down in value, it's a bit of a slap in the face. Yes, the 'wealth' programmes are a bit OTT. Who really cares how much money these people waste on cars etc. People are dying in the world and these rich people are....wasters.

Planet Pop would be better off becoming Clubland Classix as there's way too many chart pop channels. I was hoping that Planet Pop would be a classic pop channel when they first announced that Massive R&B was changing.
Yes, I suggested Clubland Classix too, Planet Pop's classics go back to 2009 I think.

For anything close to diversity you have to watch The Vault who do play a variation and not the same old "classics". If you like late 90's/00's pop Heat play a lot of 'forgotten' songs...like the JoJo track hadn't seen that for years.
Vault played Basement Jaxx last night - Plug It In? Unusual even for them.

Heat play Jojo alot - not sure which song you saw. They play a lot of 00's and late 90's but seem to have the same artists on repeat. A 1 hour programme often has N Sync and Justin Timberlake separately, Beyonce and Destiny's Child, separately, plus Perry, Rihanna, Pink, Ora, Murs, Swift etc, guaranteed, They also play the same charts over and over and over, but they occasionally play a rarer song.

Just in case you like a variety in your music here is vh1 this week:

Saturday 28 March - 7pm-11.40 - 50 Songs Better Than Chocolate

Can't believe they missed Tuesday out!

50 songs VH1 can't be assed to play
50 songs you hear on the bus and finally......
50 songs you hear in your local supermarket
50 songs to help you through the dentist chair experience....

Clubland this morning - they keep playing requests by the same 2 or 3 people. Probably aatw workers fixing the playlist.

How about 50 songs to get you through a boring class? Wonder what that would consist of?

All these countdowns are indeed recycled, same artists, same songs too. Let's be honest, we all know the music industry now is dictated by a few individuals who run record labels and tell us what THEY WANT and THEY play. Even the singles chart is an illusion of public choice. It's all to make money, and no-one dares complains as interest is low.

There are tonnes of talented artists out there, that NEVER get that big break, but they still make albums with little to no success and they enjoy making and performing music for the fun of it. There are a few bands and vocalists on the bar/club scene who like performing for fun, whilst maintaing an ordinary job. The bonus of a couple of free drinks and £50.00 is just a mere after-thought. These people are the real talents.

Then you get, the record company pets - these are the ones who start of honestly like above, but prostitute themselves because of the money and fame. If I was a musician or vocalist, I'd keep my career to the UK and possible Europe only where there is big nations like Germany, France and Spain (maybe even the latin world if you know a few words of Spanish). Artists become "fake" now when they try the US. The US isn't all that, it changes people when the vast reality in that country is people there are starving and struggling. It's all a money making scam. I think Beyonce may indeed be a product of a higher power - time will tell, especially next year when Obama has to step down. There are few performers out there with a social consicence, and the music channels and radio are in state because the big labels plug their acts and song. This is why you have a stale playlist, and a stale singles chart.

The music industry might be honest in some other countries like Spain, Germany, Italy but in the Anglophone world big players (UK, US and to a lesser point Australia and NZ) it is not.

I am sorry to say all of this, but the whole thing is a sham.

The problem with Heat TV is that's aimed at Heat Magazine readers who have the intelligence of a Goldfish. Heat readers are the types of people who listen to Capital and Heart FM and purchase music by Wally Murs.

I'm surprised Heat TV has such such a varied playlist though as you'd expect it to be a copy of Crapital TV only playing Wally, Wand Erection, Rita Whora, Litter Mix and Trashy J on a loop.

We don't need no education?

Heat have an interesting chart on now - missed 50 and 49 but 48 - Dannii - This Is It, 47 - Kriss Kross -Jump, 46 - Alexia - Ooh La La La (slow version) - promising start with regards to songs that are not played much. Not sure i've ever seen the Alexia slow version.

Programme is Club Heat - Spice Up Your 90's.

That could be one I can't think of any others. I don't think Britney's Work Bitch would be any good there, unless it's a class with my favourite lecturer as that's what she expects us to do

I caught that Alexia song - I still prefer the dancd up version , I think when we had The Box (selection) they provided 2 versions of that song for the viewers to choose

Right old mess up on Viva this morning they where playing the top 20 and when they got to number 8 all of a sudden they went straight to number 1 then back to number 7 again afterwards. just shows how automation can go wrong.

Scuzz is having the viewer controlled weekend
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djj8Qv-S4dY

Think this is a good direction for the channel and hopefully Scuzz, along with all the other CSC music channels, will start doing more and become interactive as the CSC music channels are extremely stale at the moment.

Scuzz has some decent music on it right now they play Twin Atlantic and bands like that.

Kerrang is unwatchable since the rebrand that large bar down the side doesn't make good viewing.

Schools Out - Daphne and Celeste

Yes, the dancier version is better. Don't remember seeing it on The Box but my memory isn't great.

The chart got worse. Their were some songs that get little airtime - Warren G - Regulate was one but they also played 'common' songs - Britney, Backstreet Boys etc

Sounds like a regular issue that Clubland has. Don't watch Viva enough to know if it's something they do regularly.

Well, Bliss have been playing 'requests' for the last 4 weekdays - 5pm-8pm, but twice it's gone wrong and their has been no selections for hours so not a good omen for Scuzz being from the same family.
