I've never watched so much of MTV Classic as i have the past week or two. It seems to be 90s Dance or Dance Classics mainly been shown these days. Some rare stuff occasionally too like Alex Party "Wrap Me Up" you wouldn't even get that on MTV Dance

I had dropped in on MTV Rocks by accident today but they had an error in it .... countdown called something like "greatest 21st Century videos...." ... Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit was #37 --- that song was 90's and it was in the 20th century and not 21st century! .... Remind me again what is the exact point of these countdowns/themes and making mistakes .... They have computers use them!

How can the likes of MTV Classic, MTV Live, Greatest Hits TV, the Vault still be running? I was looking at BARB and the top rated shows for each and The Vaults top program only gets 10K excluding Sabrina and Saved by the Bell..MTV Live top program only gets 9K, GH TV only 9K, MTV Classic only 10K..how can these channels be profitable?, how can the be operating with such low figures and these are the most watched programs?, how do the compare with 10 years ago does anyone know?, will these channels close for good in the future or what will they do?

I've often seen glaring errors on a few of these channels. Silly things like "The Greatest Beyonce Hits" and Ed Sheeran was playing. Or one on Kerrang last year where they had a countdown of rock anthems "featuring acts such as Good Charlotte, Lostprophets, Green Day..." I looked and thought "I bloody hope not!" I'm hoping they replaced aforementioned band with something else...

Music channels are cheap to run and also have rich owners like Viacom, Channel4/Bauer or Sony. I think music TV is still just about viable at the moment, but we'll see changes or closures over the next year or two.

I understand mistakes happen - but again its another MTV channel (who should know better!) .... it was already bad enough VH1 last year were making mistakes nearly every week it was unbelievable

Research should be done before making any of these countdowns/themes are put on air - its just laziness to rely on data input from an automation system (or how they do it these days)

Well done VIVA!

VIVA - Sunday Guilty Pleasures Top 30 - I can only name 3 tracks sadly I caught.....

Tom Jones - Sexbomb (original edit) - preferred the danced up edit (everytime I hear that song I just remember Maggie from "the simpsons" dancing to it lol)

A1 - Same Old Brand New You

Christina Aguilera - All I Want Is You (Come On Over)

Possibly they have been played on other channels but good god why I ain't seeing these songs on VH1??

VIVA does need a major revamp after watching some of this it needs one thats for sure!

Also, some of them have those competitions running at £££ per entry - I'm willing to bet they make a few quid above the ticket price of the prize. And the text to request stations at £1.50 a text and £3 (or something) a photo? Always someone willing to send in a blurry pic of their face/dog/great aunt twice removed.

It's an hour (with breaks) of Britney. I contacted them in February suggesting it seeing as they have other pop artists and they said it was a good idea. 30th March, it debuted.

This Irish lecturer. It's Laura Whitmore isn't it? Who by the way just said they can't have Bieber in a Stateside countdown as he's not American.......but they can have Rihanna... have a word

It has improved but many mistakes. In the Big In xxxx' countdowns, many songs are in the wrong year. They even put a year up as 2006 on the song title which is different to the year they are playing, so they must know.

Viva still going strong although MTV Dance's return to form as died down a bit.

Or breasts/backside at night. At least they used to, after 10pm or 11pm, but only on Starz.

Quite some time ago, I remember one countdown/chart of "sexy hunks" or some kind and they played a couple of female tunes! Utter madness. It's like they come up with a title, then hit shuffle on their ipod.

They had McFly on Karaoke Queens the other week on Heat.

There isn't a single music channel that I don't hide from my TV guide. Rubbish - the lot of them.

Did the Kerrang on screen graphics have a breakdown yesterday? .... we all knew automation would bugger up one day .... this time on a bauer channel

as for related themes countdowns I think the word really should be is RESEARCH - do none of these channels check before their on automation? Its exactly that as someone posted its basically having a playlist on shuffle .... surprised OFCOM has not stepped in again to give them all a slap

Clubland and Now Music (both AATW owned) have pulled themselves from Freesat today. Saving pennies perhaps if struggling to break even? I find it amazing how many of these channels are still operating.

Heck remember when VH1 had the "year" - they even mistakenly listed Sub Sub - Aint no love (aint no use) as 2006 - What planet they on? It was out about 92! Get the FACTS right MTV! .... I think they do know they are making errors but like what happened to VH1 they just let it happen - I find it a great shame these networks think viewers are that thick when they have google on their doorstep (yet the people behind the playlists/themes have little or no clue on looking songs up properly!)

VIVA - the channel (whilst on freeview) was going downhill until they leave somehow magically appears to be the new VH1 playing songs they hardly air and appear on there .... please do tell me someone is joking around at the MTV UK networks? They could have expanded MTV Hits/Music and other genre channels a bit better with decent playlists!

I know we have spoke about this before but tonight on H's Old School Party - Britney One More Time was played in full (ending as intact as to last time cut off - did not see intro) but then during Heat Up Your Weekend they put on Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love? (but decide to cut the intro off) I am more confused as to why they do it - its beyond ridiculous, just keep it simple play the song/video out in full end of!

Congrats Vintage TV - playing Thriller in full - I would expect to see it cut to shreds with that lot at MTV if they aired it again (choose option - the 3 min edit or the 7 min edit .... 14 min full vid - you aint going to see that on their channels thats for sure!)

SAd news. I don't have freesat but it doesn't bode well.

Yes, they played Baby One More Time in full - rare for heat.

It's merely to play as many different songs as possible, even though it's not full songs.

Vintage done well there then.

Rare? ... It seems to happen if there is a full moon is there one tonight?

I also get that point to play different songs as possible - it would help if they cut there ad breaks as well for a starter ie ad breaks seem to at times be nearly 7 mins long - how do they get away with that?

Vintage TV - If I am honest this channel does not fail me at all - seems to be better than the others at moment but rare to seem them play Thriller intact before 9pm!

Only the moon I pulled out the window

I think we'd prefer variety. They seem to have a set list of artists - Beyonce and Timberlake and all their combinations tier 1, with tier 2 being Rihanna, Perry, Pink, Olly Murs, Black Eyed Peas, Rita Ora and a few others. Ads tend to be 7 mins, especially in the day.

Don't watch that much vintage. Sometimes get a cracking vid I've not seen in ages though.

Channels get removed from Freesat all the time so I wouldn't worry about Clubland just yet. They obviously don't think it's worth paying to be on an EPG of a TV service that doesn't seem to have many customers.

There big market is Sky for sure. Freesat remains a niche for those who can't get Freeview.

I honestly did not see this at first but your spot on .... especially with artists you listed ... all Bauer channels and MTV channels are at it (excluding MTV Rocks/Kerrang) OK we can give MTV Rocks a kick in as they play Ed Sheeran and George Ezra also

I drop in on Vintage TV every now and again but they out do the MTV/Bauer channels still in my books

I also noted on VH1 Spring Fling 50 - They actually played a DIFFERENT song by Everything But The Girl (what a shocker), half expecting them to have played "missing" on there but no it was different, I believe track was "I don't Want to talk about it" so lets be honest they actually do have an archive and do know when to use it? Pity that!

All channels have their favoured artists. Bauer are just the worst.

Vintage always seem to be playing Madonna when I tune in, so I tune out

Everything But The Girl song has been played a few times on VH1 lately - may be the same Spring Fling chart. They have new charts now on repeat, that is one of them.

MTV's Total Request is funny - the ad is all through May they will play viewers requests - they build it up on screen to make you think the entire playlist for May is viewers requests but it is in fact 1 hour per weekday on MTV Music and at the weekends the chart for the week. It's currently being spammed by One Direction and Little Mix fans

I'm 99% sure it's just a mistake, but DigiGuide currently has no MTV Classic listings from Saturday 16th May. Other MTV channels go up to 29th May.
