Any idea when DanceTrippin TV is launching on Sky and will it do well? I usually watch it through Navi-X on Kodi

I don't think it will get much viewers as dance fans tend to be internet addicts rather than Telly addicts. Clubland TV aren't exactly pulling in many viewers as it is when they do Live Sets on TV.

Even if this channel does launch I highly doubt it will stay as a permanent channel. The only way I can see it launching in some form here in the UK is if it becomes a micro channel on Information TV or Showcase TV for a few hours over the weekend ?

When oh when will Heart TV playlist different music videos ?

It's the same 500 songs over and over again , very narrow minded of them to select just the most popular tracks from the years gone by and not the lesser known songs. Whenever i go to this channel it's either Ronan Keating - When you say Nothing at all or CeCe Peniston - Finally and even Finally is a overplayed track on Heart FM too !

Crowded market. Far too many channels on Sky these days.

Who would have thought that pre 2006 when MTV Dance was the only channel covering it.

Strange thing is the Clubland scene has faded away other than the arrival of Avicii. Most of what charts is Pop, rock and R&B.

Caught some of Base's Million Dollar Vidz - actually felt more nostalgic as they played tracks I aint seen in a while (probably some are obvious)

Will Smith - Miami
Janet Jackson - Doesn't Matter (Nutty Professor 2 OST)
Michael Jackson - Thriller (edited) / Black or White (FULL vid)
Puff Daddy / Busta Rhymes - Victory

In a way it reminded me of the old MTV - pretty sure there was either a programme on this before or it was a countdown

MTV Base in my mind is the only channel I see some improvement in its playlists - makes me more turned off MTV Dance!

But in general can all these channels play more archived material (videos not seen in years and even say "misses" in charts than the same hits on rotation?)

The only thing that annoyed me was that friggin ad appearing for "Judge Geordie" appearing on MTV Base - the ad looks more of an embarassment and I am hazarding a guess that this is the MTV version of "Judge Judy" (ITV3/CBS Reality) - exciting times for MTV (not) .....

I've seen an improvement in Base too. Good to see.

Its more like MTV Base in my mind have no issues airing songs from the 80's ... if they want to go further add motown songs onto the playlists then you have at least 2 channels you can turn to.

I am glad there is at least some improvement on MTV Base (but why can't VH1 be more "edgier" with its music?) overall it still shows that these channels still want to play "safe" but the irony of all is they are happily playing safe with music but they can be edgier for airing programming on MTV (even in their own ads) .... in this crazy world known as MTV it baffles me

I spotted this countdown called "greatest movie songs of the 21st century" (its on now) .... here is a "sample" of what was said on MTV TV guide for VH1 "From Avatar to Avengers, and Twilight to Transformers, we've got it all in this top 50 countdown of the greatest movie soundtracks of the 21st century"

From what I saw ... it featured songs from Top Gun and Grease as well as songs from say 80's upwards .... sorry but you need to correct this chart altogether - just make it 20th century to save all the bother!

I notice Smash Hits has 7 minute ads in the day too.

Because of new songs, we've had more Smash Hits/Box/MTV Channels on of late. It's the same 20 songs on a loop and the same repeated charts all day just like the other channels.

I look at the charts and a few of the songs in the UK charts are never played anywhere outside the official charts shows just so we can have the same artists on repeat.

Starz, aside the small screen, annoying text and rip off texts/pics does actually give other artists airtime that no other channel dare touch.

Its a growing trend in these channels -- MTV Dance had Calvin V Ibiza meanwhile VH1 Loves Adele (again) and the usual channels are stuck on a loop!

Since when did Omi - Cheerleader appear on MTV Dance? (I got nothing against the artist let alone the song) but come on now - is MTV Dance really sinking lower now? How is it MTV Dance by day is the same crap churned out day in/out but night time it goes back to what it is originally (only using comments from here?)

I see "the official chart update" was wrong this week -- I caught a bit of it this week, they predicted Jason Derulo - Want You To Want Me would be #2 and we have a NEW UK #1 ... how wrong was that then?? As its #1 for 2nd week (time to can "the official chart update" would be a start!)

I also see MTV is advertising a text service at £2.50! I remember the days of Jamster of £1.00-£1.50, I wonder how gulliable people are to text this service but needing bother

Can I ask does MTV Classic have a slogan at all? I caught that VH1 Classic Europe has a slogan that is this "playing all your classics but none of today's hottest new music"

Why shouldn't OMI be on MTV Dance?

I've noticed since getting SKY that all music channels seem to be on adverts at the same time as each other (disappointing) but I have found watching MTV Live, MTV Dance, CS Dance and CS TV a good watch. The Box channels are disappointing and seems to be an endless promo for UK TOP 40 and 4Music.

The MTV channels can be really annoying with their large on-screen text promoting the latest MTV show to premiere on the channel that night though.

I wish these music channels would stop relying so heavily on the top 40 countdowns though, so boring!! Show something different for a change, stop being a clone of one another.

Well his song is technically a "remix" (they highlight it as well) and as far as I know it really ain't "dance" or are we going with "choregraphed dance" ? - MTV Dance has got to be one of the most confused channels to watch - seems more of a channel that'll throw anything on and call it "dance", why not I suggest they play Red Hot Chilli Peppers "Love Rollercoaster" ? It has a dancy beat to it but yet its rock but of course it won't be touched as it aint classed as "dance" - MTV Dance should really revert back to plain dance music in my mind and the daytime output needs overhauled

MTV is just heavily promotes either one of its own or basically Channel 5 there is no other ads/promos - even VH1/Viva advertises MTV/Channel 5, where are the promos for their own material?

As for top 40's/countdowns - yes they are excessive now but they can't think of anything else its became lazy playlisting

How the heck does Mark Ronson "Uptown Funk" even get on Clubland? (prepares the next "clubland" album to have a "raved up" version)

CS Dance - Pharrell "Happy" now this is taking the mick surely?! (I am sure I did see that at one point on MTV Dance as well - I could be wrong)

It seems really no matter the "label" of the channels they are obviously going more and more off course to what they were originally (or if by magic by night - service resumes as normal), is it different controllers by day to night or what??

Natalie La Rose was number 1 in the midweek sales, but Derulo must have sold (and streamed) more in the latter part of the week.

£2.50! Oh dear. So many of these 'services' out there.

MTV Classic doesn't have a slogan.

OMI is not dance, even the remix. However they have never stuck to dance as we know it.

MTV often have ads at the same time across their channels.

Too many channels have charts over and over. Smash Hits and most of the others actually, but Smash Hits have todays top 20 superstarrs or girls or boys, whatever, and it's barely any different to the last day. Why make up a chart each day? It must be tiring deciding if Rita Ora should be number 9 or number 8 every day?

Not good.

CS Dance were doing really well for months with bring back the 90's and 00's. All of a sudden, mixed in with dance tracks, they've started playing Timberlake, Beyonce, Estelle, Gaga and loads of pop tracks thus reducing the proper dance tracks.

Planet Pop's issues continue. After playing Skillrex/Bieber on Hot Girls, they keep playing Rihanna/Eminem - Monster, on 2015 Hits.

Digiguide listings show that MTV Classic rebrands to 'MTV Pride' on Saturday 27th June just for the weekend, then rebrands to 'MTV Summer' on Monday 29th June.

Oh dear. Can they not just leave the names alone.

MTV Pride sounds like they are singling out people based on sexuality and MTV Summer will just have songs which they play anyway.

On another note, Britney and Iggy's new song, as bad as it is, Bauer have started cutting it off just like the other channels (other than MTV who play it in full still). Just play whole videos!

Clubland look like they've virtually stopped the app. Clearly not being used as much as they would like. It was always the same people requesting.

I reckon radio and TV channels are just serving as "samplers" nowadays especially with the rise of things like Youtube and Spotify. As for the app and the same people voting - three reasons:

a) Clubland needs to get back to it's roots
b) Identify who the ones are that abuse it - 9/10 it's probably some paid troll from a record company.
c) Limit it to one vote per number.

The channels are getting by via the ads I reckon. They still get viewers. People like me who find it easier than YouTube although thanks to AcerBen found some good HD Vids.

I think Clubland has done fairly well since they reverted to a mix of classics and present day. They need to offload these dance charts and Judge Jules nonsense though.

I imagine there are those at the record company who are using the app so they still play what they want. They did play my requests, but sometimes a long time after numerous songs had been played from the same on screen requesters.

This was also an issue with MTV Total Request. I had 5/6 requests played in the month which was a decent return if you imagine how many may have voted (and I imagine it was not many) however it was abused byf ans of 1D, Little Mix, 5SOS who spammed en mass on Twitter and eventually the top 20 most requested was 12/13 of their songs with the odd other song in there.

Last year when NOW had their twitter votes. Britney fans spammed and she won with Baby One More Time and the same at Christmas, 4 songs got thousands of votes thanks to spammers and the 5th placed song....185.

It's embarrassing.

One vote per number per hour may work, but as you mentioned above, number 2 would then not work for them to manipulate the playlist.

App's are great ideas if not abused.

Apparently MTV Dance Australia had MTV Pride as a temporary rebrand back in March. Looks awfully stereotypical , this is the kind of stuff that makes me ashamed of being gay. Awful !

Well, you shouldn't be ashamed, it's just MTV being stereotypical as per usual.

My brother is gay and is nothing like their stereotypes.

I'm gay - like a range of music - have a slight more rockier edge to my music taste. Straight acting, love football.

I like an eclectic mix I like Rock , Alternative , Indie , Jazz , Electronica and even edgy underground dance music too. I'm not the one for Divas or camp cheesy 80s songs made by SAW , This is what MTV Pride seems to think Gay's like lol.

Gay's are diverse people just like any person regardless of their sexuality.

I like Football too also Rallying and Motorbiking and Extreme Sports and I'm straight acting myself I just happen to like men thats all.

I'm not ashamed of being gay it's just this whole stereotype thing the media does on the portrayal of gay's , it fuels homophobia IMO and I for one despise how to try to make out that all gay's are camp and effeminate men and the whole idea that gay's adore drag queens , well not every gay man does !
