I'm gay - like a range of music - have a slight more rockier edge to my music taste. Straight acting, love football.
This is it, everybody is different regardless of gender, sexuality, age, race etc.

I'm nearly 40, straight etc etc yet like a wide range of music from pop to rock to dance to....whatever.

Sadly, these music stations think all people should be in certain boxes. In fact, most stations, not just music think this way.

My boss at work thinks I am gay because I like Cascada, my colleague is gay because he doesn't like football and another colleague is a lesbian because she is butch.

MTV Classic no doubt play all the stereotypical music to go with MTV Pride.

I like an eclectic mix I like Rock , Alternative , Indie , Jazz , Electronica and even edgy underground dance music too. I'm not the one for Divas or camp cheesy 80s songs made by SAW , This is what MTV Pride seems to think Gay's like lol.

Gay's are diverse people just like any person regardless of their sexuality.

I like Football too also Rallying and Motorbiking and Extreme Sports and I'm straight acting myself I just happen to like men thats all.

I'm not ashamed of being gay it's just this whole stereotype thing the media does on the portrayal of gay's , it fuels homophobia IMO and I for one despise how to try to make out that all gay's are camp and effeminate men and the whole idea that gay's adore drag queens , well not every gay man does !
Prepare for lots of Erasure, Marc Almond and Kylie, possibly Britney and my boy definitely isn't gay - I imagine that's what they think is in order for MTV Pride. Chuck in some Elton John with the Ru Paul video.

My brother isn't camp, but very feminine. He doesn't like drag queens either.

Society is messed up. The music scene at the moment is very anti male - Britney & Iggy - although Britney isn't very bright so we can't really blame her for Little Mix writing it.

Lots of female artists calling men in general, because it kind of sells, mainly to young girls. If it was males singing to girls in that way, it wouldn't sell - guys have to be slimy in their music and tell women how wonderful they are.

I hope MTV Pride isn't cringeworthy and lump everyone in the same box. It's bad enough listening to Little Mix & Britney/Iggy being misandrous without others being stereotyped.

Digiguide listings show that MTV Classic rebrands to 'MTV Pride' on Saturday 27th June just for the weekend, then rebrands to 'MTV Summer' on Monday 29th June.
its weird also (don't have channel) but its always MTV Classic being rebranded - why not rebrand VH1 for a weekend - bug all on it let alone musically!

Natalie La Rose was number 1 in the midweek sales, but Derulo must have sold (and streamed) more in the latter part of the week.

£2.50! Oh dear. So many of these 'services' out there.

MTV Classic doesn't have a slogan.

OMI is not dance, even the remix. However they have never stuck to dance as we know it.
That was what I remember now - they mentioned her (shows you how little I pay attention to these "charts" now to back in the 90s!) still though seems a bit off "announcing" it was possibly a #1 for Sunday and turned out not to be (again scrap a midweek chart as it may end up wrong)

£2.50 I was surprised and of all channels MTV! (let alone all I see on there is hashtags .. and that includes 4Music!)

MTV Classic has no slogan?? There is a surprise .... everything the brand touches turns into dust - so in other words MTV channels carry no slogans these days (well we know creativity has gone out the window) I also noted VH1 Classic (Europe) has also dropped the "year" from their artist listings (I wonder why and what was the reason behind it ... just seems more odd!)

As for OMI and the "MTV Dance" theme - lets be honest the channel hardly cares for real dance music until either after 9-10pm weeknights or be a "weekend" special, during the day its a channel of looking like MTV Hits than anything else, even when I watch MTV Live its fast becoming another clone of MTV Hits but basically its in HD (whoppee!)

The Update Chart is just another chart for them to play. We'll be having daily updates soon.

MTV Hits has gone funny. Not playing programmes listed, repeating songs straight away and now repeating the news back to back....odd.

Think its a excuse to play shitty modern mainstream music on another channel.

Don't give them even more ideas - then we'll know they have lost it completely

MTV Hits - use to be a good channel but I have to laugh at one of their shows called "big fat hits" which only lasts between 5-15 mins at most and then the "normal" shows return - why do that let alone list it?

Why not have the old MTV programme called Non Stop Hits back on for a couple hours instead? Also an idea for this lot is change the fonts on all programming its getting boring now

I can see it now on MTV Classic - expect updated Beyonce, Gaga stuck on repeat MTV UK is really ruining their own channels and are doing a great job at it - basically convert them all into "mainstream top 40" channels and forget about everything else

Isn't that because it gets the lowest ratings out of all of them?

MTV Base is ok.

MTV Base is ok.
I am not 100% sure on MTV Classic getting low ratings but VH1 was (unless someone can post up anything recent ratings wise)

MTV Base is alright at least but it is exactly the same as the others apart from changing some songs as well as seem to dig deeper into archives (whenever they want too), but I thought that was the whole point of VH1/MTV Classic - was play more tracks that hardly see light of day? Seems more of keep same ones on rotate - VH1 I hardly see any disco themes or anything from 70's, the only time you will see a song from the 70's is at Christmas time

The VH1 Scandipop Top 10 the other day was all over the place, just did not want to display the right chart numbers

And has anyone seen the constant safe sex ads on MTV?, they seem really inappropriate during the day

Not inappropriate at all, I don't see the problem with it as it's trying to teach young people to be safe.

Censorship is ruining television, if we didn't have Ofcom then the television industry would be a much better place.

If parents don't want their kids seeing these adverts, rude videos or swearing etc then it should be up to them to turn the TV off or change the channel so they can't see it. Stop ruining it for other people.

I'll agree with you on this ... but back in the 90's if there was anything rude/swearing it was kept til after 9pm but when you look at music videos these days its smacks hypocrisy or basically double standards - ie censorship of some videos back then are still intact meanwhile we have Rihanna flaunting around half naked during daytime TV, it baffles me as I would assume these sort of videos would be shown after 9pm but I do wonder at times .... maybe its my age but I just find it at times double standards

As for OFCOM they'll go OTT on the most dumbest of complaints but where you see real issues its basically a slapped wrist

I seen it but in a way glad it wasn't someone from one of their "own" shows speaking about it (but they probably didn't want to risk it)

Yeah, that's the thing I didn't get. MTV is the home of shows like Geordie Shore in which people just have sex whenever and don't care at all. And now they're encouraging safe sex. They need to make up their minds

That would be too far away from the constant promotion of the same songs and artists that they are paid to promote

That's my issue.

MTV do this with everything. They want to look like they are trying to do good, but in reality just want car crash TV.

It's like the artists they supposedly push for the new year - most don't make it, yet when they do they remind you that they did despite giving up on all of them half way through January.

MTV are just hyprocritical go with the in thing idiots.

It's great Tine Tempah (nice hair btw) is promoting this but he's been paid to do it. It's not like he's a credible artist, just someone they think is 'cool' right now.

Oh and someone who happens to have a new single out shortly...

The Chart Show Channels are looking a lot better these days, at least in terms of graphics and presentation. They always used to look so cheap and tacky. One thing Chart Show really should do though is sort out websites/apps for their channels and start streaming online like all the other free to air music channels.

VH1's music seems to be improving. The 'Rise and Shine' morning playlist is still horrible slow tracks which will leave you feeling miserable all day, but the other themes and countdowns seem better at the moment. There's finally a few new ones like Afternoon Acoustic, Duets and Summer Hits. New programmer?

Starz and The Vault hardly have good graphics. The best CSC ones were the previous rebrand of Chart Show. Scuzz about 2006 looked better too.

A programmer's task is to fill predetermined slots with (possibly) suitable music videos, not play around with the actual schedule of the channel.

That's true, but the actual music within the countdowns seems to have got better too. I've not seen as much Beyonce, Pink, Mariah and Celine Dion recently. I'm sure some of them will feature in tomorrow's Movie Love Songs countdown though..

MTV in a nutshell .... pity Tinie wasn't advertising safe sex to us as part of a VH1 campaign but its like I said and is the biggest problem of this lot - everything must revolve around MTV in general - new shows head to MTV meanwhile the sister stations advertise s..te! Where is the self promos or cross promos there is none if there is its mostly MTV/CH5/Comedy Central thats it

4music - how many times has the same "Stacked: Pop Pile Up" been on? I know we are in austerity, and it feels like living in Bosnia-Herzegovina, but mix it up for ffs!!!

Channel 5 is having an 80s weekend on the 27th/28th June, with shows about the decade and 80s movies. It would be an ideal chance for VH1 to do a weekend of 80s music which could then be cross-promoted with C5, but they're not doing.

Yes, you can download DVD quality videos from years ago and put them on an external hard drive.
Can someone PM me the link for these please, i use the Kodi plug-in PseudoTV to make my own music channels (It basically plays a playlist or folder of videos but you can add the channel logo and bumpers) i've never found anywhere other than youtube or a few torrents for old videos though.
