4music - how many times has the same "Stacked: Pop Pile Up" been on? I know we are in austerity, and it feels like living in Bosnia-Herzegovina, but mix it up for ffs!!!
All of these made up charts are on numerous times a day. Smash Hits Chart Crunch Top 10 must be on 5 times a day and likewise with many of the channels. Capital will be showing highlights of 'The Ball' right up until 2016's version. Quote:
Channel 5 is having an 80s weekend on the 27th/28th June, with shows about the decade and 80s movies. It would be an ideal chance for VH1 to do a weekend of 80s music which could then be cross-promoted with C5, but they're not doing.

I find it strange though that Spike TV is promoted on all MTV channels - so if they really don't care for music in general is it not about time for some downsizing? Or do they really need the teleshopping to keep them afloat? I admit Bauer are just as bad but teleshopping is really on ONE channel 4Music - time for all these channels to either expand their playlists/make it better or just cut them and save the bother! |

You would think that though wouldn't you? The bosses at MTV UK/Viacom couldn't give a toss about VH1/Viva - you would expect with the size of its network it can't think of using their other channels for cross promos but of course the viewer has to contend with the latests goings on in Big Brother at the moment on Channel 5 meanwhile whatever MTV has on!

MTV Live should be axed too and replaced with MTV Music HD instead. |

Schedule changes
DigiGuide shows some changes to the VH1 schedule from 4th July. There's a new weekly show called 'VH1's Official Chart', the miserable morning music show titled 'Rise and Shine' will stop at 8am instead of 9am and Top 100s are back, as they've only been doing Top 50s recently. Also there's a few things that appear on VIVA including 'One Direction Quiz'. Quote:

I think MTV Music focuses too much on music videos to be worthy of a HD channel. at least MTV Live has lots of gigs/festival coverage which do look good in HD. |

MTV really should review it's music channels , rid of the underperforming ones IE : MTV Dance , MTV Rocks , I'd move the classic dance content to MTV Classic and newer Club songs to MTV Music and classic Rock content to MTV Classic and newer Rock to MTV Music. MTV Music really ought to be a channel with more varied genres not just a carbon copy of MTV Hits.

VIVA - 1 Direction Quiz - really are they still relevant these days?? Or they basically milking it?? Good god even MTV of the 90's we hardly had things like this - I am beginning to wonder more that it has to be the record labels pulling the strings here! |

Most of the music channels on sky these days are dissapointing and boring to watch because they all play the same overplayed trash all day everyday.
Bar Vintage (and even that can be repetitive) they are all rubbish. |

If I am honest I agree with points above but can MTV please just drop the title "MTV Music" its such a crap title and plus it really seems more of a shortened expression of what the channel was called in general MTV - Music Television

First thing Sony should have done was axe the awful Starz channel it doesn't fit with the other CSC brands.

Or they could get rid of the rest and have one music channel called MTV Music HD.
But I do notice at times MTV Music/Live are basically copies of MTV Hits - I think though MTV Live should be a channel for live gigs and nothing else, this a channel I have became very disappointed with so quickly when it was taken away from Poland - maybe wrong in saying this but there is hardly any live gigs on there as they use to be but they are only running this channel as/similar to MTV Hits/Music apart from your seeing the videos in more HD MTV UK sucks the life out of their own channels ... sad really, I also note since VIVA went back to music only (I know a few were suggesting a new look) that ain't happened - I just think MTV UK/Viacom main focus is Channel 5/MTV mostly anything else can't be bothered with |

I think the fact that Smash Hits and Heat (not sure about the other Bauer channels) have reverted to 7 minute adverts during the day, covers the teleshopping loss. They must get more from bigger companies for daytime ads.
Just seen Nicki Minaj's new ballad.....on Clubland. |

That makes sense from the Bauer perspective but then again ain't MTV are they just the same for ad breaks??
LOL Nicki Minaj ballad on Clubland .... no worries MTV Dance will throw it on ![]() Strange Chart on one of the Bauer channels tonight - Official Hits of the 90's - Britney - Baby One More Time, number 27. It's officially the 8th biggest seler of the 90's and 31st biggest seller of all time, so how they've come to the conclusion they have with any of the songs in thes charts, I do not know. They just seem to chuck the word 'official' onto anything, even though it's not. |

http://ovego.3dn.ru/publ/live_tv/muz...ssic/4-1-0-458 The music is good though compared to MTV Classic which never plays pre-90s music now. |

A vast majority of the music channels on Sky are redundant since they all end up showing the same dross. This also goes for the Dance channels too !
I tell you what though I'd happily pay a monthly subscription to subscribe to an actual music channel that play's non to lesser mainstream Dance music across Europe but then again in this day and age I cannot see this ever happening with the ever decreasing viewing figures across the music channels. I remember when we had Rapture TV they used to play many amazing tracks that came from Mainland Europe , Rapture was a great video music channel and Flaunt wasn't too bad of a music channel either because I used to watch this very regularly when Rapture TV closed down. I remember they used to play lots of edgy dance music at times even saw videos MTV Dance never played at the time. I miss the day's when we used to have a dance channel that played great Dance tracks with lots of exciting sounds , pumping Bass and Beats , Melodies and Harmonies and great lyrics with fantastic vocalists they made viewing of Flaunt and Rapture highly addictive and exciting to watch without this the channel's are dull. At present I find there is no real alternative Dance channel anymore for Dance fans anymore and since the current 3 we have now which are MTV Dance , Chart Show Dance and Clubland TV all play the same videos from the same artists in the near same rotation it makes them unwatchable and boring and these channels don't really appeal to me although I do watch Clubland when they do play the odd classic but they hardly the lesser known dance classics only the ones that were popular at the time. When I do flick across these channels all I ever see them playing are horrendous tracks from today's popular EDM stars and I don't particularly like the current trend at the moment in the Club scene as it comes across too loud , too bland and too dull and too safe for my liking , to add I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this but they always seem to have favouritism for Calvin Harris , David Guetta , Avicii and Martin Garrix , not one of them actually make decent tracks , David Guetta hasn't really made a good track since 2008 to be honest. Oh well I suppose I'll stick with listening to the Internet Radio streams instead , at least there's no annoying Advertisements
