Didn't watch it but I assume it was the same songs.
They have 80's at 8 and 90's at 9 now....well, not tonight as it's Brintye Top 20 instead Not watching now but Pink was on it! I think they've done this chart before and it shocked me then,Talking of shocking = the aforementioned Britney chart that is on now - MTV won't play 'Gimme More' as it's too saucy, so they played a small bit of it. Erm.....how is it any more saucy than some other videos? Bauer and CSC play it all the time and earlier in the chart they played '3' which is a song about threesomes and the vides is her writhing around anyway, plus MTV often play songs involcing sexist, racist, degrogatory lyrics - they really have no idea. Just to add, they are refusing to play all of Everytime now because of the 'bath' scene - they play it on VH1 all the time! They are cutting off loads of songs and instead the girl is just talking a lot and a lot of the stats are wrong. Sometimes is apparently early 00's. |

Gimme More however expect it on Heat TV though ... the irony of all things MTV these days ... so they refuse to play that as its too saucy really? Have they looked at their videos recently? How about Minaj with Anaconda (especialy the 9pm version) and "edited". MTV are the biggest hypocrites really and as you say VH1 will play some (again MTV really under another name). MTV either know what they play or they don't - I find it more weird say songs from 90's, 00's still get treated with censorship yet videos they play these days "break boundaries" yet of course the excuse will be "you could see it on youtube"
VH1 played Everytime this evening in full. I've never quite understood why they can play it on VH1 but not MTV Hits or whatever and why 'Bitch' in one song is ok but not in another. Britney's Criminal was banned before 10pm because of guns yet they played Kesha - Die Young, complete with guns any time of day. We can hear all this sexualised songs any time of day though. |

MTV just like to be awkward - you mentioned MTV HITS I doubt the station really cares for Britney compared to VH1 - I have not seen MTV HITS really step back in time that often its just another modern day MTV station but then again VH1 at times goes the same way too (again whats the point?) |

At least the Bauer channels still play some ... I was naffed off when they edited Hung Up from Madonna a few months back - basically cut a 6 min vid into a condensed 3 mins (really now?) plus the picture was god awful

Seems like for Everytime they seem a bit with themselves its alright expect Eminem/Dido to be aired before 9pm soon (uncut) if they are still confused by it all

It's silly as with '3' she was hinting as to what it's about, but they played it. No consistency. Anyway, Planet Pop actually played some videos that are pre 2008 in their 00's throwback. |

I'm on one of my rare days off (started a new job and towards the end of a week off work), and was looking at 4Music's jukebox, either I have memory issues or they repeated the same four songs over and over - it was Carly Rae Jepsen, 5 Seconds of Summer, Justin Beiber, and some Disney tart - either their system was broke, the whole voting system is meaningless and therefore corrupt or just an error. Strange. I like how they have plugging vote for your summer song, one was Maroon 5 "Sugar"....er, thats been out since February which was the tail end of winter!!!

Clubland do the same with the summer business. Their Epic Summer Anthems (insert year) are the same programme as their Club Years (insert year) so songs from any part of the year. Smash Hits have just played Sigma/Paloma Faith as a Summer 2015 song. Quote:
Yep no lie on this one .... it was up on my VM EPG - I am checking the site can't find it lol ... in saying that another "music" themed show is also on MTV ... "relentless ultra presents....." on saturday 22 aug at 2300 (don't know if it has been on past few weeks or what) but it makes you wonder if they are experimenting but then again why would they - the channel at one point nearly had all VH1 programming appearing on there

Just using it as a constant repeat channel it seems. Don't think they will be going back to Music Videos just yet though. Are they just stuck on as "filler" as they can't find anything else to repeat (insert programming they even repeat after 10pm or odd occasion before 10pm) .... just seems slightly strange to me if I am honest and as someone who prefers to watch VH1 to MTV but then again even channel promos hasn't even changed sadly so why would I be surprised

MTV are strange. They've had a vote all summer and apparently they've had 635 millions votes - probably the same bunch of people over and over and over. The announcement is on one of the MTV channels tomorrow as to the winner - they've been advertising all week, only MTV News announced it before the announcement....fools. |

Still laughable from a channel that covered all things 'music' to abandon it completely and then air them
LOL announce it on news before weekend, remember MTV News from Friday is repeated over weekend anyway MTV Hottest = had some recorded today - they cut off all the songs. Pointless. 635 million votes is a lot of spamming. |

MTV Hottest - so really a pre-recorded show not the usual automated programming countdown (not much new there - they'll either run charts as pre-records or automated) Curious one: Caught the TOP 40 on THE BOX - heard announcer say #14 was not broadcastable as its a family show 635 million votes? If its not spamming, I presume it was the population of London that done most of the voting ![]() ![]() curious question looking at both charts for #14(last week) - the official chart has Years and Years - Shine and on The Big Top 40 it has Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me I know Years and Years - Shine has been played during the day, I aint seen the Lost Frequencies vid or heard song but if its this why is it deemed not broadcastable any ideas?? (or if someone can enlighten me on this), I was thinking it may have been Jason Derulo - Want You to Want me but thats always been played so I would rule that out also |

Manipulated to the max and the unofficial ones are even worse. Bauer even have the cheek to call some charts official as they are charts of songs played on their network. UK Hot 40 had Major Lazer as number one for umpteen weeks despite it falling down the offical chart. All down to airplay and how much they pushed it. No chart can be taken seriously anymore. Their is no formula to what they will and won't play as they contradict themselves by then playing a song with similar lyrics/same thing they banned the other video for etc......just depends on the artist. Selena Gomez wouldn't be allowed to suggest anything sexually but Beyonce/Rihanna/Gaga/Perry would be allowed to suggest something far worse.....and get away with it. Music Industry for you. |

No idea with Lost Frequencies. They play it the rest of the time. I can only assume they play the charts on CBeebies or something if it's a family friendly show as the rest of the time they play the 'unplayable' songs. through the day.

Vote 4music is the exact same songs as yesterday, 5sos, Little Mix,Justin Bieber, Pia Mia and Taylor Swift. Do they just repeat this eveyday? I don't think these are actual people voting.

In a couple of weeks it will be different songs but still played day after day until the next set of songs. Seems to be no time limit between the same songs being selected. Now, Heat's Dance chart right now......Britney, Gaga, Clarkson, JLS, Rita Ora etc etc......I thought they meant dance but clearly a pop chart. |

I'm all for evolving, but they are up down and all over the place and they conradict themselves all over the place. Heat have got rid of 7 min ads over the past couple of months - they now have 5 minute ads, although more of them, so it means less songs this way. I've noticed hour long programmes have knocked a song off the end. CS Dance - anybody else have issues? Only minor, usually 7-9pm interference on screen, as if weather is affecting. No sound loss, just flickers. Only channel that does it. |

I think we are getting use to them contradicting themselves these days sadly - its one rule if you seen an x rated vid in 90's (not to be broadcast during the day) but you can have it all out and nothing is done (oh the irony .... yet the BBFC is away to give music vids a certificate like films pity MTV/Bauer don't follow these rules!) More ads -- less songs should be their motto! |
