Clubland now playing Katy Perry - Firework.

Had some Jessie J, Gaga and Rizzle Kicks.

Seems Clubland have gone Kids Disco Land.
I swear blind thats your typical MTV Dance playlist too - I presume Clubland has went Popland instead for tonight? I think when channels do this sort of stuff it loses credibility

Clubland TV has been performing very poor in the ratings for a while now , wouldn't surprise me if they did rebrand as Popland TV next just so they can chase for whatever viewers they got left...

They went too far with Little Mix later on in the evening

It doesn't help when they repeat songs over and over and over.

Yesterday in a two hour show they played the same approx 15 songs twice. To make it worse it wasn't even 15 different artists, It was Avicii x3 different songs, Alexandra Stan x2 different songs (ok, she's hot, but still her music is crap), Inna x2 and they always have a couple of songs they play in every program - at the moment it's Alex Adair which they played twice and that ruddy Albatraoz song which they played three times.

Clubland is their flagship channel so I don't think they'll rebrand it. They have NOW and Planet already that are virtually the same and Chilled plays half of the NOW playlist anyway.

To be honest they're all failing channels , and they won't be on air for long with the ever decreasing viewership for their demographic.

TMF and JIM TV in Belgium are both closing down their channels in a few weeks with that very reason... 16-24 demographic show very little interest in 'Linear Broadcast Television' maybe the music channels should be focusing on the 25+ demographic instead , it's those viewers who are the original viewers to their music channels that have kept them going all these years. What they're doing now with their channels now is Brand Suicide which will eventually lead to a closure. I predict in 2017 there'll be mass closures , be lucky to have about 10 music channels left within the next 2 years and I guarantee you that MTV's music channels will be the first channels to disappear from linear television.

I find it unbelivable that they seem to mostly aim at one demographic these days - worst offender is MTV - just look at VH1 it mostly advertises.....MTV where is the ads for VH1? I think MTV will make closures but I would laugh if they went to default analogue channels ie MTV VH1 (possibly?) The Box plus variety is few and far between and most aim at todays music and the odd occasion go back

Saying that not seen Clubland albums recently but I think they are going in a different direction as I downloaded John Newman - love me again (max sanna remix) - I like the song but it shows the days of Kelly Llorenna, flip n fill, lasgo

Viacom will most likely want to take their entire channels FTA , even Comedy Central lacks the Premium feel , it's just a channel filled with Overly repeated repeats of Friends. These channels have a short term future anyway , I suppose making them FTA will keep them on air a little longer. It is inevitable that Linear TV will phase out towards the later 2020s.

Don't get me started on Comedy Central - that channel is a disaster these days
, I bet the USA version of the channel has better output, I thought that since most of the UK channels are either american-owned there would be similar output but clearly not with Viacom (music + comedy) channels

Planet TV has gone off air , fault with playout system , possibly too much to handle as it's been like it since 4:15pm and it froze on LMC vs U2 - Take me to the Clouds of Above and keeps flashing a black screen.

Looking at CC US schedule it really looks better in comparison.

Perhaps it's cheaper for them to run syndicated shows rather than sign new original commissions. If that's a case why can't they show Becker , Frasier , Less than Perfect and loads of other comedies that could be aired , I am sick of Friends , i got bored of it after E4 sucked the life out of it by repeating it over and over a gazillion times...

People simply don't watch as much Music TV as you point to. Their are other avenues now without the ads (or limited) and Music TV is something that isn't going to last forever. Too many channels, not enough quality or diversity.

Nope and they replayed the same Kesha and Little Mix songs earlier

Noticed that when I returned home from work but it came back eventually. Picture quality is naff on that channel.

So very true about there being too many channels and not enough quality or diversity.

Planet could be a better channel if they played a mixture of everything not just today's crappy hits , maybe they ought to play every single song that's charted from the last 30 years and that goes for Top 20 and Top 30 hits and tunes that never charted , not just the same old boring Number 1's , Top 10 hits what music channels seem to play endlessly , tunes outside the Top 10 are completely blanked out and ignored. The only channel that sometimes plays Top 20 hits is The Vault but that's a rarity , mostly you can see them in their OMG! countdowns but anything outside the Top 20 is never to be seen...

But Comedy Central UK would get the same shows as Comedy Central USA for free because they the same brand, They just choosing not to air them.

I could ask the same question in regards to Comedy Central Extra - why is that channel not airing old UK/US comedies but choose not too?

Its more annoying that Comedy Central runs a Friends-a-thon every day I believe nearly 9am-9pm surely people at Comedy Central must be getting bored of repeating it over and over with the title "the episode with...." Its like saying that Viacom UK/MTV have no real interest let alone investment in programming elsewhere other than quite possibly of that of MTV/C5 - I thought that each channel under a company has a budget to spend or is it due to cuts its now under one big budget? (yet this is the same network heavily reliant on Teleshopping during the night)

All their channels are rubbish now , Comedy Central is now showing non-comedy films too like Scream isn't that Horror ?

Not the only channel to decay though look at the Documentary channels mostly filled with Reality shows now. Horror channel showing Comedy and Action programming. Yesterday with Game shows... Broadcast TV is essentially dying a slow death.

I assume with film Scream there is some 'comedic' scenes in it? I have never seen the film let alone trilogy but oh well but I agree its horror surprised the 'saw' horror films ain't on

I also agree on documentary channels too its on the odd occasion you find a gem. I admit sometimes I watch H2 but channel is weird when x files and mash appear but I know uktv network shows programming like keeping up appearances on there (I like watching this when its on) but I agree with the concept of the channels has changed but its getting worse

It would be good if they could play some rarer tunes. Even Vintage play the same old tunes these days. Different to other channels but still the same playlists.

Vault do have some rarer tracks but again, the same old ones day in day out.

Viva doing what MTV Classic should be doing - the guilty treasures so far has included Erasure and Bobby McFerrin amongst others. Surely that's MTV Classic's job?

There's no comedy in Scream , I think you mean Scary Movie 1 which is a parody of the first Scream film.

AAH ok, well then that is indeed an odd choice to have on a "comedy" channel, I have seen the parodies of Scary Movie (I only seen up to either 2 or 3 then when Wayans Brothers dropped out I gave up watching it), on the other hand then why have it on a comedy channel in the first place? Is there something about the film that screams "cringe" and the bosses at Comedy Central think its good for "comedy" ? Its a stupid choice no matter as rightly pointed out its a horror film not a comedy - maybe in the future we'll expect Viacom/MTV UK to convert Comedy Central into a part time horror channel?

I initally took it that originally it was VH1's job is it not or partly share with the now MTV Classic?

I like Vintage more than I do VH1 - last night proves a point - Vintage had an 80's night (as such) playing 80's hits and soul meanwhile VH1 had party classics top 50 (another countdown) with obvious choices i.e Destinys Child - Bootylicious - thats a song I always see on VH1.

Someone mentioned why do the channels not play the same tracks that charted and why not play ie #2's or tracks that failed to chart (or rarer tracks), I have been wondering this for ages but its like they don't want to or they keep it for special weekends - Guilty Pleasures

They should ditch Comedy Central Extra for the 'All New' Paramount Channel maybe then they could expand on playing more content like Family , Horror , Sci Fi , Action , Drama and Movies.

Shift whatever different shows are on CC Extra to the main Comedy Central channel.

Good point if that is what they are aiming for - I just can't take any of the Viacom channels seriously these days, pretty sure they have became a parody of their ownselves really
