Wow very shocked to see Bliss gone , totally unexpected especially since it temporary rebranded as Blissmas. I said we'd start seeing closures and it's happening. Placing bets now who's next ?

It was nice of them to let their loyal viewers know. Even Planet Pop said goodbye and they'd hardly been around. Bliss has been around for years and not even a mention. Bizarre.

Slightly off topic , I see The Vault is expanding on TV Shows , Sister Sister joins the schedule from Tuesday 6pm. I expect some of Pop Girls older Live action series to end up on The Vault in the new year. Perhaps Sony are wanting to morph The Vault into an Entertainment channel could replace True Ent and Drama and launch a +1. I tell you what though The Vault could turn out to be a very good channel if it becomes the place for Old Kids/Teen shows of the 90s and 00s.

It does seem odd , must have been an unplanned closure , Blissmas label still appears on the Other Channels though , just says 'No listings Available' in blue screen.

It's a shock at any time but as you say, just as they rebranded for Blissmas. If CSC are going down the closures route, does anybody know the recent ratings? From a selfish point of view, Bliss is no loss to me, neither would Chart Show, Starz or Flava be.

They could have replaced Bliss with a channel like this rather than chucking it onto a music channel. That said, it appeared a few months ago that the TV shows were getting better ratings than the music and with The Vault doing a Bliss and playing the same old Top 50 charts, it could be sooner rather than later that it becomes an entertainment channel.

Seems to be a very late change to plans. Absolutely strange timing with Blissmas in full swing.

I never knew the screen had changed that way - I was thinking the screen change was similar format of seeing old episodes of "the simpsons" on Sky 1

The shows pn Vintage maybe the same but look at MTV and Bauer channels they no different

MTV Dance is basically CS Dance but thats nothing new.

Christmas themed channels should be Christmas, yet if you look at Movies24 and Movies24+ they are Christmas themed - so how can a movie channel stick to a theme but a music channel falls at the first hurdle 😕 if they are not interested in the theme then don't do it

A good thing about Vintage TV is they don't have themed Top 40/50/100s so you don't get the same videos in the same order each time they do a certain theme. It seems to do well in the ratings too, maybe there's a lesson for the other channels there?

They should ditch Chart Show Dance and replace it with Chart Show Classic for older chart hits. Most of the videos on Chart Show Dance are shown on Chart Show TV anyway... Chart Show Dance is another channel I wouldn't miss either.

I agree thats what I like about Vintage but it beats VH1 by a long mile personally speaking.

Very sad to see Bliss go, I used to really like that channel. It was sort of like what VH1 Classic used to be.

I don't think its necesserily the end of music channels in general. 've recently spun my dish round to Astra 1 and a great channel on there is Deluxe Music. Apparently its very popular in Germany, with a HD version available on subscription. It has a nice jukebox feel to it with a mix of oldies and current songs. Recently, in the evenings they show a concert.

Who is Danny Howard?

They'll argue they are open to interpretation

I think it is a lesson, although how big i'm unsure as Vintage TV is like no other channel so cannot be compared like for like.

I'd only miss the Cascada In The Mix, but it's not on often and even then, I can catch all tunes on You Tube etc. They have Rihanna in the mix again later. 3 times in 2 days at least.

Bliss went downhill and recently starting showing endless Take That and Buble again.

Deluxe Music would be ideal in the UK. Sadly, as with anything in the last 50 years, the UK are trailing Germany in their wake.

Former DJ of BBC Radio 1 (apparently) - oh well MTV Dance moves with the times I guess, last countdowns I remember featured Dave Pearce (Radio 1) and the guy from "the shamen" , next the channel will ask Bieber his dance tracks or ask Tweedy the best choreographed videos!

The usual way out of it - if a channel is "themed" in my mind stick to what you play or meant to stand for - but then again look at MTV Live its a channel with "pop" gigs, the rare occasion playing something "rocky" and by night it becomes a channel of music after 3am (whilst the other MTV channels broadcast teleshopping).

As were speaking of themes - well we don't expect Sky Movies to run James Bond films to then throw a random film non related to the theme - it just strikes me odd that OFCOM seems to let this slide and allow them away with it

Oh right. Never heard of him but seems to be all predictable stuff.

Channels never really stick to anything. Even Vintage started playing Modern Classics from the same year. Not sure they still do that.

I guess as you named a film it would look different to say a Horror season where they chucked in a film that wasn't horror that had an actor that was in a horror film......not right, but they could try it. Music is more manipulated and more easy to do so.

Chilled playing some Xmas songs I have never seen tonight - Camilla Kerslake? Subo and Elvis? Ashanti's Xmas Medley (shocking btw).

The year hours are usually the same 1989 always has Getting Away With It by Electronic and the 1993 one has songs that were hits in 1994.

I'm not surprised Bliss has went.

The channel worked when Sky owned it however it was never a patch on The Amp.

Sadly the channel became down market and almost the same as The Vault. Blissmas was pointless anyway as this year Heat and Now have done Xmas.

Music channels continue to ignore good bands like Mumford and Sons and Coldplay. Only Kerrang and Scuzz play non top 40 music. I am sure I read months ago Bliss was to be pulled was the others not Starz and CSC Dance?

We know how far the music channels have fallen when there is just one channel on Freeview called 4Music.

Vintage tv currently playing a song from 2009...I thought they didn't venture past 2000 unless it was future vintage

To be fair in al the years of Freeview nobody has ever lauched a rival other than local channels like Chart Show TV and Capital. Think they were exclusive to Manchester?
