Queen, Abba, Gloria Gaynor, Earth Wind & Fire - the usual ones, but as I say, only in charts.
MTV Classic has a wider playlist I would say but not wide enough still. It is usually the same songs still, just more of them.
Weekends seem to be when they make more effort. Maybe they think everyone is not working, which is strange when you consider a lot of people do work weekends.
Last night was like the old days - About 8 or 9 channels were playing 00's or older, but it was one night only it seems.”
If picture quality is counted as a "premium" maybe their playlists should be part of the package!
Yep the usual ones - was there any different? ie Earth/Wind/Fire - not "boogie wonderland" ? I wouldn't mind Queen - Invisible Man being played (VH1 or Vintage!)
MTV Classic has a wider range? Do they really? I would have thought VH1 would be even wider but then again VH1 playlists seems to be as minimal as possible, a complete reversal to what it was back in the 90s! For that matter why does MTV Classic and VH1 be more sharing with archive? Or is the controller at VH1 got that much of a small mind of music that everything has to be ballads and nothing more? If I remember correctly when I moved away from MTV (apart from MTV Dance), I use to tune in between VH1/VH1 Classic (before its removal from Virgin Media), VH1 Classic was still a half decent channel to VH1 (more like VH1 of yesteryear), but I take a guess MTV Classic does at times go back to its roots but at other times its going off course being "modern"

, can these channels stop going modern and keep some classic channels or is this a general phase that all channels will play modern music anything from the past is wiped?
Playlisting - why change it at weekends? Whats different to that to weekday? Or as MTV Dance/Base are more famous for weekday playlist changes after 9pm some nights
If these channels are having "rating" (viewer) issues surely they should know that not all viewers want modern pap on all the time, they like variation and quite possibly different music everyday?
Example VH1 - has a Rock Day, Disco Day etc (could be weekly) and for the sake of argument since MTV is constantly plugged on VH1 why not have another MTV archive day of their old shows? Why no one in the UK division has ever thought of using some old MTV shows to fill the air it would be different to see and plus "MTV" is already being plugged? I just find it though VH1 seems more of a lost channel - it has potential but those in control of MTV just seem to let VH1 go to waste to what it once was
