Channels need to stick to their genre but these days I find it ever confusing, as the MTV channels are morphed into one - MTV Hits is the same as Live/Music/Dance

Prince/VH1 - they may have just stuck to this channel in first place since there is bug all in different programming! I just done a quick google, seems MTV US done a special airing of his film - Purple Rain (but I doubt MTV UK hardly thought of that or to air it as a one off film on VH1!)

Hayu - I have been wondering what the ad was about on the side of buses recently, nah your ok i'll avoid it - i'll stick to CBS Reality for Unsolved Mysteries, Cops and Judge Judy (which is also available on CBS Drama )

I don't even watch Hits/Live/Music - they are pointless these days.

MTV/VH1 have done more for Prince than they did for Bowie. Bowie was British and been around longer. I know it's personal opinion, but for me he was a far superior artist to Prince. Ironically drugs may have ended their lives early and I have no sympathies for that, but that's another story.

I just hate reality full stop - I see it as a waste of time, of which i'll never get back. It goes back to the Big Brother days when people just watch people in a house I even try and not spend too long online and I have made my kids go out over the years rather than stay in (they don't watch reality TV either). Rather than waste that time, they've learnt to go out and do things and enjoy the great outdoors - no time for reality nonsense here and no time for being porky becuase of lack of exercise watching The Kardashians

On the odd occasion if nothing is really on MTV Dance or VH1 I will look onto MTV Live but yet I wonder why bother? There is nothing different just the odd live gig been shown (no .... not your rock stuff unfortunately more of the modern pap stuff)

MTV/VH1 should give tributes accordingly - but I see no real need in spreading them across so many channels - this is one thing they need to do is reduce it to 3 at least if it happens again), come to think about it - was there ever any tribute on MTV for the lead singer of Earth Wind and Fire? I see there has been no mention of it on here so I wonder if he was ignored? So are the tributes now pick and mix?

I only watched Big Brother on Channel 4 say about 3 times (but this was dodgying in between series 1-3), I got bored of it, its another show that needs to go but so does everything in that genre - if people want a dose of real life - look at the world everyday it is reality, there is no cameras no directors its YOU, you make your life no one else

As i've said before, 8 channels is OTT - Don't recall Earth Wind and Fire bloke, or Percy Sledge or Papa Wemba who has just died - MTV like to think they are diverse and cover all genres across the globe. Tributes are based on what they think will get them ratings.

It's funny, I looked at Bauers website - music fanatics I think they described themselves as, or similar. Think they meant celebrity fanatics.

The thing is, Big Brother may have been remotely interesting back then - it was an experiment. Now all reality shows are scripted and with the music/talent ones, manipulated.

Still, if people are happy, so be it. Just seems a waste to me but I guess we all have different things going on.

8 channels of tribute to an artist is indeed OTT, yet this lot fail to understand to keep it minimal, surprised no tribute on MTV Live but I forgot thats an HD channel so thats a no go channel!

Music/Celeb fanatics - quite honest the channels are more celeb or so called celeb fanatics music is second (or channels running music its the same celebs)

Reality shows - I would say good in the beginning but very much on the wane - back then it was talked about, these days hardly! - I think most of the public are tired of these shows - pity the UK can't make more Total Wipeout (the only decent show), follow the US one still (don't get tired of it - again its a show that comes with different ideas)

As with Big Brother (never followed them recently), but reading on the forums found it interesting at times those who won were related to MTV shows , people say its fixed (even I do yet I don't follow it BUT it can't be coincedence on the winners?)

This is the problem when certain companies take over music channels or the channels need money. Here have a few quid just push One Direction every day.

I don't watch reality tv but i've heard lots of fix claims. Simon Cowell knew Leona Lewis before she was famous - I think she's great, but the programme was used to promote her before inevitably winning.

Clubland's Remix show has pulled out some oldie but not necessarily goodies.

The channels these days is more about the record labels/certain artists/songs (more celeb based now than before)

Reality shows a la X Factor - over the years its become a fix - you just got to look at the fake facade behind it all (tears and tantrums), the deadlocks etc, its not really about the talent - its just about money (both for Cowell and ITV)

A lot of Clubland's stuff may be cheesy but at least they dare to go there. MTV are just way too cool in their own eyes and instead play really cool acts like Tinie Tempah, possibly the cheesiest rapper ever. He makes Vanilla Ice seem like the coolest man ever,.

MTV have a new vote via hashtag - Pop Champs - it will be the same as every other year although they've seemingly omitted Britney this year, probably as she always comes near the top and wrecks their plans for the top 10.

It was an old chart from about 2013 that was voted for by the public that they've ripped a lot of the tracks out of and replaced with recent tracks. Britney was number 2 but they took it out and replaced it with Taylor Swift hence the voiceover guy was only introducing the songs that were in the original recording.

MTV Dance needs to play that sort of dance - if they are playing bieber etc then go into archives, play steps, play corona etc but as you say they want to be cool today

I doubt they do know Outkast had other songs. I had to laugh when I read Bauer's website suggesting they were music enthusiasts. Looking at their TV output, I don't think their music enthusiasm goes very far.

All things Kardashian, its an embarassment from the US and its been inflicted on us in the UK (I don't mind US shows etc) but 4Music has became a joke of a channel - I wouldn't mind if they invested in programming related to music - what do The Kardashians got to do with music? I think they should know - do they not remember The Box (phone requests?), even they to have an archive that can be used more often but choose not too!

Bauer music output - Radio (Heatradio example - is not bad), reflect on the TV channel of the same name - it ain't the same! (different output BUT playing modern pap), saying that I have noticed Heatradio is allowing "rap" versions of songs now through where few years ago it was avoided but yet they played the likes of Flo-Rida, I guess someone told them that they are giving a mixed impression of output
