I don't think much will change at VH1, but if the current format of nothing but themed charts must continue then I wish they'd have a greater variety.

There are so many themes they used to do, but now it's always 'Power Ballads', 'Should Have Been No. 1', 'Biggest Voices of All Time' 'Sing-a-long With The Boys/Girls' and a couple of others repeated all the time.

What happened to the likes of..
100 Greatest Floorfillers
80s, 90s or 00s Pop: Top 100
100 Greatest/Worst Videos
..and the many others they used to do.

Possibly locked up in the basement known as VH1 of yesteryear or quite possibly VH1 Europe (sorry MTV Europe) uses them more?

MTV Live has an unusual looking schedule from Saturday 2nd July.

30 minute shows are listed as 25 minutes long, 60 minute shows are listed as 45 minutes, and 2 hour shows are listed as 90 minutes.

I think it will just be a mistake in the listings, but it would be nice if they're turning it into an ad-free channel like MTVNHD used to be!

I noticed MTV News hasn't been on any of the MTV channels recently, apparently it was axed back in April. Channel 5 has a daily 5 minute entertainment news slot called Access, maybe they could start showing that on the MTV channels as a replacement.

The reason for this has become clear. MTV Live HD will close down on Sky next Wednesday.

It looks like it might continue on Virgin Media but will switch to the international feed which doesn't have any adverts, as the Virgin EPG is showing the new listings from 2nd July with strange programme times.

Along with being on holiday, i've been pretty busy over the past few weeks so I have hardly watched any music tv.

I had a look today and it's absolute nonsense now. BoxHits is the same artists over and over - it's worse than Heat.

If this is true, I welcome it - so I guess MTV UK version has backfired? Not been a success since taking control from Poland?

The problem I found with MTV Live similar to VH1/VIVA its with the constant plug for MTV UK shows, there was no ads for MTV Live shows (again like VH1/VIVA), I did notice that BET was getting advertised (BET Awards been shown on BET! ... Surprised MTV has not jumped on getting it shown FIRST as they usually do)

Also its worth noting, just visited the MTV UK site for listings (to help here) and well MTV Live is not listed on the site , yet weeks ago it was on there - how very odd - you would think still keep listings up til next week but it seems like MTV UK has simply took it off their site - so I guess its now a channel MTV UK wants to forget about?

http://www.mtv.com/live - checked out the US site (if this is the international version?) - the schedule looks far better and varied - features some shows ie Later with Jools Holland. VH1 Rock Docs, Eric Clapton, CMT (just some samples on their guide this week), if I am honest this version of MTV Live should be what the MTV UK version could have been but its music programming hardly changed it repeated the same stuff too much (kinda like all the MTV UK channels) - so if MTV US can vary programming and quite possibly playlists then why is MTV UK that lazy?

I can't stand the Box channels now and agree with you there - they have fast become The Box but basically Box 2, Box 3, kinda like MTV channels these days really!

I've tried watching music channels lately, but the amount of commercials is off-putting. When you can go onto YouTube and click on a playlist, adverts every 3 songs is a waste of time. Also, teleshopping through the night??? Watch a music channel and see no music.

Sad to see the only HD music channel closing on Sky. Only YouTube for HD videos now.

The US version of MTV Live looks great, but unfortunately it isn't the international version.

The international MTV Live is run from the UK and shows the same stuff as our version, but it has no ad breaks or promos for Geordie Shore etc.

Really disappointed they've swapped MTV 90s for MTV Pride. I hope the channel returns in place of MTV Music +1 or MTV Live (if it is going!) and maybe add a few more 90s shows to the line up like Beavis and Butthead and more of 'The Splat' stuff.

Oh damn, there was I hoping it would have been a completely new channel that we currently have, so its under UK without ads but same crap - may I request Virgin Media to get rid of this channel too?

What's the reason for closure on the Sky EPG?

They haven't given a reason but as it seems to be continuing on Virgin Media and outside the UK, it's probably down to a carriage disagreement between MTV and Sky.

Sky have been cutting the amount they pay for certain subscription channels.

Looks like it might be going back to MTV Classic on Monday as they have 2000's programmes included in the schedule.

I'm sure it will be MTV Summer soon.

MTV Pride is very stereotypical music.

Its just a pity its the wrong channel to go on Sky as its the only channel without the teleshopping , BUT I wonder if Sky is possibly getting fed up of MTV being on subscription and this is maybe the first to go? You could also say its the first HD channel to go on Sky (not aware of any others but correct me)

Could Sky and possibly Virgin please get rid of.....MTV Dance, Hits, Base, Music too? Then we could have the analogue days of VH1, MTV and The Box again - I wonder if this is a start?

MTV Pride is a good concept!

What was the point of MTV 90's if it's not coming back?

A good concept but very stereotypical with the music they are playing.

Looks like MTV 90's was a very short term thing.

CS Dance changes to CS Summer on 1 July - I very much doubt it will be any different to what it is now.

Meanwhile VH1 hardly gets a look in or better yet anything associated with MTV Classic/MTV 90's to MTV Pride

On the ad for MTV 90's they did say it was for month of June - why can't they do this with VH1, surprised VH1 does not get renamed with Pride its logo in the UK prior to this changed all the time - blue, green, pink

Eurgh.

Sounds like they may be going down the same route as all of their other failing music channels.

It annoys me slightly that they change MTV Classic.

It should be Music, Hits, Viva or VH1 that changes.

I wonder what is the reason that MTV Classic gets rebranded for a period?
