Re: Magic/Box Upfront - they have indeed moved. Remember the other day when everyone got all excited when a test transmission of 4Music appeared? Turned out that was actually holding the fort for Magic's relocation. Magic and Upfront can now be found on that new frequency (which I don't have immediately to hand but can quite easily be unearthed on DS and elsewhere...)
Ah I thought so. Would I have to rescan my satellite receiver to get the channels back?

Yup, if you've still got the old ones locked in. A bit of digging around tells me 12.305 H is the new magic number, so to speak.

Speaking of Box Upfront, a thought strikes me. MTV Music +1 currently, as the name suggests, timeshifts the lead MTV Music channel having previously been a separate scheduled service (MTV Live SD). In some other territories MTV has a new-music sibling channel under the MTV Brand New name (which in the UK has been used for a promotion but not yet for a channel.) My theory is, what if MTV UK replaced Music+1 with a local MTV BN channel, playing new, fresh and emerging hits in similar skein to Box Upfront? Granted, the mix may be similar tonally to that found on MTV Music, but better that than another identical music mix... As to why the +1 could go, well, I can see the point of +1 for channels that have longform programming (including MTV 'proper') but for a music channel it seems less of a draw...

Wouldnt it be better if 4Music really play a more variety of music as its the only misic channel on Freeview like a retro block of videos, dance block of videos etc, rather than just top hits from nowadays
It would be ideal.

I don't have freeview but thought it had more channels now, but it must be free to air i'm thinking of.

Box Upfront still have Clean Bandit and Little Mix in their 10 hottest new tracks. No wonder the charts are stale.

I don't watch as much as I used too and it shows - I still go the old numbers - MTV Dance 353, Viva 357 etc (Sky viewers will know what I mean)

I don't see the point in MTV +1. It's not like they play music you don't find on other channels on MTV Music, so I don't see anyone desperate to watch it.

Quite why they didn't keep MTV Live SD but back made in Poland, I don't know.

I do, but the receiver came with its own EPG so that's why.

VANESSA HANSARD has been in financial services since 2012. Prior to starting in the financial industry, Vanessa was a student, legal assistant to a prominent attorney, and a gymnastics instructor. When Vanessa was introduced to the industry, she was working 3 jobs trying to put herself through school.

The flexibility and part-time income potential of this industry is what originally motivated her to get started. Nevertheless, in a short period of time, she saw the greater potential of the company and industry. Prior to this industry Vanessa says that she didn't even know what financial independence was. Her plan was to go to school and start a family and maybe hopefully make 70-80k on her own maybe even one day break a six figure income after X amount of years and years of education and hard work. The vision she had for herself was that of a boxed life and she couldn't see any more or any further because she's never experienced it or believed it was even attainable.

Coming into this industry really opened her eyes to the possibilities. Vanessa credits her success to the leadership, system, support, and teamwork of the company. Vanessa was one of the youngest people ever promoted to Field Director in the company. She also helped establish the San Fernando Valley affiliate office.

There's no Teleshopping on the MTV channels in the early hours of Christmas Day. I've not seen the New Year schedules yet but will let you know.

Saying that - the only 2 days that MTV goes ad free let alone "teleshopping" free and back to 24 hours - yep its a sad state of affairs can this lot just give up and can the whole lot!

4 Music seem to be taking a leaf out of Clubland tv book by doing live club mixes, they just did one on Friday after trending live.

I suspect New Year will be the same as last year for MTV where they just played the same songs on each channel as opposed to having a nice mix of different tunes, older and newer, on each channel

Whereas Clubland have gone the other way and started playing Little Mix and many other pop acts.

It won't, unless VH1 fancy it after Christmas.

She's not British, edgy enough or reveal enough for any of the channels to give her a go, which is a shame as she has far more talent than most of the others put together.

Yes indeed they have, are they drunk at Clubland towers.

I'll be glad when the Christmas music has gone although I know it'll be a load of rubbish after Christmas too.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas music TV fans.

I noticed MTV Xmas/VH1 renamed "Rachel Riley Counts Down to Christmas" to "Rachel Riley: x Days To Xmas". Some sort of legal problem with C4's Countdown maybe?

It looks like the MTV channels are doing an Official Number 1s month in January, with loads of Number 1 related charts and strands. It's a real shame they can't/won't bring back VH1's Number Ones Week, which played every number one track from 1980 to now in order.
