I think over time the programs will start appearing on the other channels, MTV pushing music to the ground so any old program like South Park will look better on so called music channels. Which when it does happen. The channels will get more ratings then they axe more music until you a left with 3 hours a day to stay in the Sky Music section

My prediction is that in 2015 MTV will start closing some of their music channels down and replace them with non-music channels.

Be better as by the looks of it - the same artists are on EVERY CHANNEL (apart from Rocks - the irony of it all )

I don't get why "Comedy Central" programming is appearing now .... any chance then Mike and Molly will appear?

Viva may as well be renamed Comedy Central 2 (3) as by night its becoming that .... MTV by day Comedy Central by night

MTV possibly trying to be VH1 at same time? - some of VH1 programming appears more THERE than it on VH1 - again I guess when its suits them.

Viva is already like that - can't remember the days but its like 8 hours music then rest programming but seems like at weekends is when they consider "music" to be on throughout

Surely then these channels can no longer hold "music" licences then (whatever you call it) if they phase in more "entertainment" on them? - they should lose more of their positions with adding that "teleshopping" on during the night - that is what I can't forgive all these channels that carry it (MTV/BAUER) it is pathetic if I am honest (so let me guess its "we aint making money as we use too but shopping helps us" ....sorry but to me that is sheer laziness at night, if you don't want to broadcast during the night CLOSE then your everyday normal person is struggling to make ends meet yet you lot grovel in the income from teleshopping and you possibly throw it on reality cack/the so called stars )

Future line up of MTV channels could be well like this in the next 2 years :

MTV
MTV Music
MTV Classic

I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down Viva and make that a timeshare channel between MTV and MTV Music.

If they do offer less channels I think both MTV channels would offer an HD variation.

Does anyone remember a channel called 'Just Fabulous'. It closed down just a few months after I got satellite but it was good. It was a bit like a 24/7 version of The Heat that's on BET.

Rockworld TV and MusFlash TV were also quite good channels but didn't last long.

What poor scheduling! Both 4Music and Heat are showing Pop Hits of the 21st century: The Official Sales 20 at EXACTLY THE SAME TIME (6pm on Monday).

Yeah, that had potential but it was basically a loop and all the songs were repeated over and over again and most of them were like 6 months out of date as Playphone was advertising itself as current music. It wouldn't work these days as nobody downloads ringtones or pictures from text services to their phones.

There was also a channel called Redemption TV in the music section that showed a lot of Goth shows but that closed down too.

Doesn't surprise me. They've done this many times. No communication at all.

I remember during the time I saw it, they changed songs once in about a year, but yes it was the same songs on a loop and similar size screen to Starz/Buz.

I don'#t remember Redemption tv....there were a few that I know were there but can't quite recall. The name does ring a bell but maybe I thought it was religious or something

I have vague memories of B4 - A channel which played NEW...yes NEW releases. We need something in this vain back, as opposed to new songs being passed as new despite being two month old

Viva and 4Music have been banished out of my Freeview Box!!

Now I briefly remember that channel .... did Channel 4 own that or was it ran by someone else?

I agree there has to be something done regarding NEW releases than chuck them on or as The Box are good at "fresh music top 20" songs that are dated are still in! (or was that 4Music?)

CSC owned it but Channel 4 used to have a 30 minute B4 show every weekday at 7:30am.

The thing is, there a ton of unknown acts and singers begging for five minutes in the spotlight and would be eternally grateful for a video slot! We are not interested in the puppets or a song that has had 5wks at number one.

Although the 2003-07 era was a period of low sales, it was a chance for unknowns to break into the Top 40 even Top 10! An almost level playing field. Downloads have KILLED the charts and abuse is happening to the singles chart. Plus some sort of mercy rule should stop the sheep downloading a sing just because it was murdered on X Factor.

and you got the PLATFORMS there too - yet they can't be assed!

I admit I download music but not downloaded anything recently - but I have downloaded artists less known to the UK (as such) but I am tired of the drivel of X Factor and the alike filling the air - but I would add that too as well to what has damaged the charts and even Music TV as we know it - shows like X Factor MUST share that blame as that is what has encouraged such cack, yes I admit in BEGINNING it was OK but its tired out now ... TIME TO MOVE ON and this is all things REALITY .... move on but I doubt it sadly. Mind you what happened to the past X Factor winners? They have disappeared off radar have they not? Seems like it (ok you got that 1D but they are just annoying as hell!)

It had the same graphics as the B4 channel and was produced by CSC as a show on Channel 4 so it was related. It's quite hard to explain

Something I just remembered is the interactive services they used to have on The Hits & TMF back in the day. The Hits had one called Kamasutra where you could text in two names and a Barbie & Ken at the bottom of the screen would be put into a selected sex position. There was also something called The Gimp where there was guy in a small box on screen and you could text in to make him do stupid things.

Interactive services probably wouldn't work these days which is a shame. But the Quiz scandal and the recession changed British TV.

Bubble Hits was also a good channel. I do find that Chart Show plays more upfront new music as does Planet Pop instead of The Box and 4Music etc.
