I am more surprised that there is more "official" countdwns ... really?? - why do we need official sales on songs that have been released - probably most of the "holiday" anthems (just an example) will possibly be made up of songs of today and the odd one or two from the past (more likely though they will SLAG OFF the song from the past )

I agree Bauer can be just as bad but last time I looked they only advertise a programme on the "programme" that is on now .... "top 40 countdown" and then they'll advertise "kardashians" (flip back/forth) but this is on 4Music only I haven't seen it appear on the likes of The Box, Smash Hits or even Heat (could be wrong on Heat)

Whats so special about an average voiced controlled puppet?”

Maybe a holiday in Rehab?

Did they celebrate that? Oh dear.

Bauer advertise their own programmes alot. Kardashians etc. Not quite MTV, but they do advertise. Adverts are longer than ever now, typically around 5 minutes.

MTV advertise alot and I do mean alot in every ad break no matter the channel for "MTV" - 4Music I see is the worst for all things "kardashians" or "millionaire matchmaker" - but i'll agree they need to cut down the ad breaks (5 mins or so is way too long) - again and they wonder why people are deserting them

Both MTV and Bauer love the ads and in house ads.

MTV Classic last night - I saw a Guns n Roses video I have never seen before - I don't quite remember the song title, but looking at their discography, "Since I Don't Have You" rings a bell.

That came from the infamous flop 1994 album The Spagetti Incident. I grew up listening to this act, my Dad was a huge fan.

Nice to see a rarity on MTV Classic.

4music has an A-Z of JayZ...do we care plus I have noticed Made in Chelsea are mid afternoon and wait for it.....Shameless in the evenings! This is not 4music its 4entertainment. Roll on the two new music channels launches to Freeview very soon.

I liked them when younger but don't remember the song, yet it was number 10 in the charts apparently

4music or Heat haven't showed Timberlake's BBQ for a couple of days Sure it will be back very soon.

Yesterday, Greatest Hits had a 90's Europop BBQ - didn't see much of it but I did see, Madonna - Vogue. Maybe i'm missing the obvious here...

It's not one of their best to be fair.

Well they are repeating Adam Levine's Secret Diaries and Lanky Ugly Minger Styles Lothario next Monday, also I-heart festival because surprise surprise, Will.i.am, Rihanna and Taylor Swfit performed This from a channel who had the cheek to slag and refuse to play Arctic Monkeys because they were "bored of Glastonbury"

Half-way through 2013, I can safely say this is the worst year musically. Granted there were a couple of duff years in the 70s, 80s and 90s but this year has taken the piss.

I did note the Made In Chelsea but not Shameless (again what has this got to do with the title of the channel 4MUSIC?) remind me again

They may as well rename it as 4entertanment or better yet 4crap .. OR 4sh...e

You spoke of "rarity" on MTV Classic pity that it can't be spread out throughout their other stations .... to them its like we are stuck in the ONE DECADE and nothing exists til they "feel like it"

Ha. Not an Arctic Monkeys fan but you can bet if Beyonce was at Glastonbury they'd be all over it.

2013 has been pretty naff so far.....i'm sure a few good songs are about to come around...they have too.

The problem is the same companies have similar channels that you cannot differentiate between.

MTV Music and MTV Hits are the same effectively.

Smash Hits and Heat (bar the on screen scribble on heat)

Then you have each of the 3/4 companies having channels very much alike - MTV Hits/Smash Hits/Chart Show/Planet Pop.

You can add MTV Live to the same as MTV Music and Hits - basically just "live" footage of today's pap and basically running mostly of today's pap (surprisingly)

Smash Hits/Heat - scrap the Smash Hits already and keep things to "Heat" if need be or convert one of them to be more of an "old skool" channel!

again is it not about time they just merged channels or is this because "money talks" (be advertisers/record labels) .... yes the viewer gets shrinked out - whilst quality is wasted on quantity (the trend at the moment it seems to be)

I'm not sure why we have so many channels, but I guess if they merged, it would still be the same music over and over, so we may as well keep the extra channels as occasionally something will come on.

Clubland last night had Top 10 Girls of Clubland - All 10 were Cascada I'm not complaining, it was an error that I enjoyed, but they must have put on the wrong program or they named the program badly - i.e Each 'girl' is going to get their own program. When I pressed 'i' it just said from Cascada to Flip & Fill, here are the top 10 girls on Clubland, or words to that effect. It wasn't the usual Cascada 2006-Now program as all the songs were in a different order, although 9 of them were the same as on that programme.

I don't know if they did merge it would bring back "variety" look at it this way, in the 90's you had MTV, VH1, The Box (being the main music channels of that era) - MTV was the NOW music and so was The Box being honest (vote/request - that was the only competition you had with these 3) - VH1 was a mix of classics to some updated stuff (they even ran ARTIST of the month - 10 of the best etc) but then look at it NOW there is far too many channels that are well .... repeating the same pap day and day out - merging channels may not be "beneficial" in a way but it would make room for other channels to appear (ie documentaries etc)

I'm not sure to be honest. I just think they'd play the same as now but on less channels. Re-branding some would be good, but they don't appear to really care.

CS Dance have another Top 100 countdown on - same songs as the other one, just in another order and that annoying bloke on it.

MTV Classic - Top 50 Stateside Sizzlin Slammers - No 43 - Britney Spears - Born To Make You Happy. Not only is there no hint of summer in the video, but it was released and hit number 1 in.......January. You have to love these people who make up these charts.

From 29th July VH1 has "100 Sexiest Artists" each night, which isn't a 9 hour music video Top 100 but a real programme from the US channel. I hope they start showing other music themed programmes like Behind The Music, Storytellers, Pop Up Video, That Metal Show. it would be more interesting than repeating UK Top 40 every day.

These charts are created on a whim. "Born To Make You Happy" is more of a winter release to me and thats not because it was released in January

When I was at my Mums yesterday waiting for my brother to get dressed out of his school uniform, I noticed Heat Pop Video Analysed. I caught it once before and it was the SAME videos: Calvin and Ellie, Will.i.am. The old "Pop Up Video" had useful trivia about the song, production and performer. This was focused on parts of the video not relevant and their personal lives!

I wonder if Heart TV will be UK wide on Freeview? Perhaps scrap Viva

VIVA is great for comedy and the odd film so they should keep it.

Summer Hits TV is a bad channel. Non of the videos are summery and it's 70% 80s videos. They should be playing upbeat pop and dance...summery tunes. It feels more like Christmas Hits again.

I have not seen Heat's version of "pop up video" from what you say I dread to see it - pity MTV UK can't be half assed in even attempting that for its VH1 viewers do they? Thought not sadly

Not overly keen on the first two, That Metal Show i'm not sure i've heard of. Pop Up Video would be good.

I wonder when they play Rihanna or Chris Brown they have a question ... who was caught in a fight couple years ago?? (by the way I am against men hitting women but again surprised why the hell he seems to have been slapped and yet she rolled over totally baffling!)
