I know remember Madonna Erotica video - we can only play SOME of it and we'll cut the rest - wait til 9pm (or would it be 8pm for us under MTV Europe?)

As I say songs with "sex" in it weren't as bad as you get now, another example is the outhere brothers "wiggle wiggle" "boom boom boom" (there was 2 versions the "dirty" version - which I think hardly got played til after watershed or the made for UK dance remixes (which worked better)) but if you compare it that way its like saying Rihanna S & M is safer to play through the day NOW than you were able to play Outhere Brothers?

Another example as well The Vengaboys - Boom Boom Boom (some scenes are still shown "edited" from the 90's pity then since in this day and age it could be lifted ) so in other words its one set of rule for a generation and its another for this generation any chance it can be universal anytime soon?

They always cut the Champagne and feet scene but always seem to forget to cut the bit at the end where it looks like a man is doing something It doesn't make sense.

I am sure MTV did play the "uncensored" version but then again can we really see MTV UK now ever putting on The Vengaboys on MTV Dance? (forget about MTV Hits) - pity MTV can't raid the archives as much as they use too (apart from repeat on repeat playlists) - Bauer sometimes on the other does - ie Heat TV played Five but then again they stuck to the "catchy" ones and even featured a "christmassy" song from them, yes in the middle of May (ironic of all)

I think this thread is stuck in a time loop, just like the channels that are being spoken about...

i think the cheapest way to get MTV adria is a card for MaxTV Croatia. But i dont know if that card works in every ci-receiver or in their own receivers only. a german shop offeres a bundle with receiver and card for 460€. TotalTV bundle costs twice as the MaxTV sub.

The irony of that comment is even he has worked alongside her and that IS the exact song

Or the same top 40 tracks on a loop - nothing new there!

I didn't catch it all sadly but I caught Aswad - Don't turn around - funny that when was the last time VH1 actually played some reggae or anything like aswad?

Last time I heard aswad on VH1 was when they had a #1 with shine!

Again good grief it takes another channel to play some other music to the same contrived crap we see on all Bauer/MTV channels why am I not surprised??

I've lost interest in music tv these days. We could all pick playlists from 80's, 90's, dance to alternative rock which music tv never covers now.

There's not one decent music channel the days of refreshes, fresh charts, VJ's, SMS, call selection are all gone.

I think it's just 31 pages of us moaning about the same thing There are some interesting more useful posts.

They do say if you don't complain, you'll never get anywhere, so when we are on page 386 and we get a channel that we want, it will be worth it

Buzmuzik - are the lack of selections now permanent?

Aswad - Rarely do you see Aswad. VH1 or Heart most likely, other than vintage. I saw Inner Circle on Heart the other day. Even modern day Reggae in Iyaz, which is 3 years old? doesn't get played anymore.

I don't listen to radio

Just seen the original 'On the beach' by Chris Rea on VH1 - a first?

Btw, if you want some reggae, check out Stooshe's new song. When you've picked yourself off the floor from the disbelief, let me know what you think

I can't stand StooShe, they're a bunch of trampy Rihanna wannabe's but I quite like that song.

There's currently a non 80's countdown on Summer Hits, did someone make a mistake? It's nice to see them do something other than "80's all day, everyday"

The song just makes me laugh. They don't strike me as a group that will be around for too long.

They've started drifting from the 80's theme a bit more, maybe for summer? They still played alot of 90's of late, but this chart today is all about the 'ladies'. They've played the chart before, many times, but before the 80's obsession.

MTV Classic played Lambada earlier. Not one you see often.

Yeah that is the next step in music - let's destroy the 80's/90's "classics" with modern crap - half of the remixes/samples are so wrongly used!

ie David Guetta/NeYo/Akon (cant remember song title) basically killed off Alice Deejay Better Off Alone (congrats guys on ruining a great track from the 90's!) whats next someone wanting to sample Ian Van Dahl Castles In The Sky next .... I am looking at you Chris Brown or even the Eurostar Guetta!

MTV must be raiding the vaults to get Lambada on - pity VH1 can't or is that where the whole VH1 archive has gone to MTV Classic??

Surely that's a good thing

Linkinpark875 has been moaning about these channels since 2004 and every post/thread it makes is the exact same subject. It moaned about the closures of Lava, Q and NME but probably never bothered to watch them.

Well, in my umpteen years of Music TV, i've never seen that song

@ Waterfalls - Never liked the original, the copy just about ended it

Not a huge fan of samples. Some can be ok, but most...nah.

Yes, they sampled Alice Deejay and although haven't ruined the original, some younger people think he's not sampled it and don't believe it.

Talking of Chris Brown - his Don't Wake Me Up song - is it the same as Aviici's? Can't stand Chris Brown so turn it over so not listened too closely.

I think you may be right - MTV Classic is the new VH1 and VH! the new MTV something....Hits? VH1 Classic is totally in the vault.

Classic have pulled out some rarities of late (as i've posted a few times)....just a few more please MTV.

Wow some young people are so "naive" regarding that song sampling Alice Deejay hell it was out at the same time (not exact) as Eiffel 65 Blue(!) I guess they haven't looked at google or does MTV fail to tell the viewer that he has sampled it ... possibly not and again couldn't care

I have heard that Don't Wake me Up by Chris Brown (pity it could have went like Wham's version ) but that song is nothing more than noise and his voice with that effect irritates the hell outta me! - that is not a song that is just noise!!

Pity VM have still not put back MTV Classic so I could see if its really that different but for VH1 I can't even describe the channel in its current form .... it most certainly past its sell by date and as for MTV letting it rot shame on them - mind you the rot is setting on Viva I reckon as well as MTV Live - so MTV must be doing something right (wrong) in their books
