She's miming to What Hurts the Most as well and doing that stupid hand thing she always does. But at least she only 'sung' the good songs.

Anyone noticed that CSC have employed a few well known people?

Andrew Hayden Smith does a weekly countdown on The Vault and X Factor Jake Quikenden who is constantly on CS Dance is now a presenter on Chart Show TV. They even had Adam Deacon from those crappy British teen gangster movies presenting that festival thing on Flava with the other day.

Sorry, went to bed straight after.

I don't mind the hand thing Annoying that she mimed, as she can sing live. I did see this years ago, but had forgotten that she mimed. It's repeated tonight.

I know CSC have some new announcers for programs. Jake is appalling and another guy they use has an awful voice - can't remember his name - Andrew Barr? James Barr?

There are currently no graphics on The Box. They were missing all evening last night too so I assume the problem is continuing from then...

The Box appears to be fine now.

MTV Music and MTV Live are showing the exact same programming until midnight. I fail to see the point, but there you go.

It might be for Virgin Media viewers without HD, as they don't get the SD version of MTV Live.

On a different note, Viacom have recently registered the new VH1 logo as a trademark in the UK/Europe (named VH+1 ) but that doesn't necessarily mean they have plans to use it.

Could they just put it on MTV Music and then MTV Live at a later date? I just don't see the point in two channels having it at the same time - they could show it one one and then another later or something - I don't know and don't care that much as MTV isn't watched much.

Well, let's hope they use it and sort out VH1 UK.

About bloomin time! - Hopefully they get the upgrade it desparately needs! Don't see why MTV has to always be a main priority with this lot whilst VH1 is rotting away without a care

Hasn't that happened before the other MTV channels came to Virgin Media?

I do agree whats the point running the same things on both channels (wonder if ads were the same on both too!) - it possibly is just laziness for scheduling (I wonder if they just linked up the channels do it? It can be done...)

Mind you in saying that has the MTV schedule recently been that exciting?? Not really ... just the same tat repeated on all their channels including VH1 nothing new

MTV have clashed programmes for years, as have Bauer.

MTV is at an all time low I think.

Clubland not playing Clubland Live despite it being listed. Oh well, never mind.

Are they not just registering the use of a +1 channel in case someone else does and not necessarily a revamp

If its to register a bloomin VH1+1 channel again who they trying to kid?

VH1 programming has got mostly sweet bug all on it apart from repeated countdowns and in general nearly the same tat covered by its sister stations?

VH1 is really needing a revamp if anything and a major overhaul on its scheduling, I could understand if VH1 had a need for a +1 channel but it doesn't and if this is what they are mostly focusing on is creating a +1 channel, it is already a waste of money as I highly doubt anyone will tune into VH+1 - yes see the exact same MTV ads and songs we just missed an hour ago on now .... major boring now.

MTV Management need to get their heads out of their asses and get in touch with the real world and not the fantasy bubble it lives in - I am afraid that bubble is going to burst soon but it is ok the blame will always be placed either on Youtube or just basically the internet for their downfall and yet they have failed to realise that majority of the public are also a) 25+ b) could not care for its "scripted" shows c) invested in programming in all its channels not just the focus of ONE d) teleshopping - maybe should close at 3am to save the bother and restart at 6 or 9am and finaly e) give VH1 a much needed a revamp - don't see why MTV gets a major revamp with all the "hi-tech graphics" whilst VH1 is still stuck in the year 2006 or 2009! (sorry its a rant but MTV Management in my eyes comes more across as if they are in trouble but creating a VH1+1 channel is definately a time waster or is this to be a money maker an extra channel for the ads and teleshopping laughable already before a launch)

I'm genuinely amazed to find that anybody actually watches these music channels. They really are the pits as far as music is concerned.

I think they've named the trademark VH+1 because the new logo merges the H and hyphen together to form a +

I don't think they have +1 channels in America but over here it could make people think it's a +1 channel.

Wonder why +1 channels have only really taken off in the UK. They seem like a waste of transponder space to me. I'd rather have half the channels and double the bitrate, myself.

The new logo is much better. Sadly I doubt the programming will reflect the quality of the new logo, if/when it is introduced.

When did CSC swap there EPG numbers? I know Scuzz moved a while ago but CSC Dance has been moved down the EPG but sits next to Clubland TV and BuzMuzik next to Starz TV.

I don't see it making much odds as less and less people watch music tv now.

I noticed on the Big 40 whatever chart on 4music, they did not play Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon new songs by skipping them saying they were un-interesting. They've allowed Rita Ora "How We Do" back in the chart after it was released a year ago!

Surely ALL music has to be played regardless of genre? Makes me sick. 4music should lose their licence.

I believe if its part of a countdown it should be played no matter (like requesting) .... them saying "un-interesting" is pretty shocking to say that yet they played them when they came out (but the replay's of Big 40 is shown on The Box/Smash Hits so I guess song(s) are avoided as well on them) - it is coming more across now as "favouritism" with these channels and yet again they wonder why people don't tune in - oh well their loss!

Agreed. I mean who wants to listen to crap like Rita Ora, Beyonce and Miley Cyrus. Way to alienate fans of the indie/rock genre. As I posted in the music thread the chart should copy Eurovision with some jury influence. Limit a lot of these crap US and US influencle acts and make them have real music.

Bauer are a waste of space.

You can guarantee if Arctic Monkeys and Kings Of Leon had a massive hit, they'd be all over them as if they were always mega supporters. They used to cream themselves over Kings Of Leon.

MTV Classic playing the odd rare song this week. Rare by Music TV standards, not rare rare, that rarely happens Queen - Bicycle just played. Not seen that for about.....a year

Kings of Leon are on the MTV Music, Rocks and VH1 playlists. Arctic Monkeys are also on Rocks. It's strange that Bauer aren't playing them, perhaps MTV have an exclusive for the first few days?

On a different note..

I watched a bit of VH1 Europe earlier. The music remains good but the presentation of the channel is dreadful. It's unbelievable that they're still showing the same few 30 second music clips where the adverts should be. Regular viewers must be sick to the back teeth of them, since they've been showing every 15 minutes for at least 2 years now..

Now, that would be a rarity.

MTV Classic just played Black - Wonderful Life - not seen that for a long while. Either that, or i've just kept missing it

I admit I listen to HeatRadio (not during the day just weekends for PartyHeat) but surely the bauer stations do play them? (right?) or am I now out of touch with "whats cool and hip" , I admit I am into RnB rap and dance but I don't think it is even right to "alienate" a genre especially on these "channels" - they are basically shooting themselves in the foot on that!

I am sure both Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon are played on Kerrang, but as you mentioned if the song makes the chart it should be played.

4music is very shallow. Cares too much about the fad acts like Miley Cyprus, 1D and queen bitch Beyonce and who is super duper fit etc. Thing is, everything is dictated to by the labels and by a bunch of people who have no clue what people really like. Money rules sadly.

Its a shame Freeview has two craps so called music channels.
