tellshoping is takeover the musichannels at night why?
Teleshopping on the "music" channels has been going on for a good few years now ..... why they carry it? I don't know but some will probably will tell you its at least income to the channels - however what they invest in I have got no clue - well you probably can tell by MTV UK/Viacom invest mostly in but the Bauer channels no real idea!

Should have mentioned as well 4Music is now running PhoneShop on there.....

Bauer are advertising New Years parties on all channels from 4pm, but one of them is 22 songs into a top 150....about to find out what happens....another has about 12 songs left on a chart...

I'll add more to the list

NELLY FURTADO - MANEATER (2006)
PINK - DON'T LET ME GET ME (2002)

have to add isn't the whitney and onerepublic songs "slow" songs? They sure ain't songs that make you wanna party thats one thing!

Tonight on VH1 80s Disco, all the best 80s party anthems including

will.i.am - Heartbreaker (2008)
Rihanna - Disturbia (2008)
Whitney Houston & Enrique Iglesias - Could I Have This Kiss Forever (2000)
OneRepublic - Apologize (2007)
Lady Gaga - Papparazi (2009)

Notice on MTV Rocks that on all MTV UK music digital channels from 7 pm (8 pm CET) will be music slot without any adverts

As they mention in their stop a liitle gift from MTV to US

I wonder if they will have the same rotation of the same clips on all channels

Or perhaps in 2014 they will hire music programmer dedicated to each music channel ?

here is spot from MTV, looks great. Still adore MTV, even if it's sometimes dissapointing

http://youtu.be/tgerq0utMdU
Bauer are mean to have an ad free party on all channels from 4pm today - we'll see - two of their channels are currently showing charts even though it's meant to be new year parties

Music Television officially died the day that M2 / MTV2 ceased.

Download your own videos from iTunes or use PooTube.

I voted already with remote .... got heatradio on instead and thats "party" music not ad free oddly! (they use to on new years hopefully they will after their 200 party anthems countdown)

I lost faith in Music Television when it became the channel for idiots (coughs reality sh..te!) and now the standards have been passed down the lines onto VH1, no hope left in it - just Vintage TV is the only one keeping it proper "old skool/classics" the way its meant to be!

They probably will after a certain time

We won't have this crap on for long (Bauer seem to be playing 'charts' this evening) their NYE no ads is actually true, but they haven't advertised that The Box are playing top 100 of 2013, Smash Hits Top 100 Airplay 2013 etc etc - Dull!

Still, come 8pm the kids have invited their friends and some of their parents around and we'll stick some CD's in! Not that I will get to hear much of it having to host

I don't get the point in countdowns especially on New Years .... just play some damn music UNINTERRUPTED (i will give Heat credit radiowise as mostly at weekends from 4pm they are ad free well 1 or 2 ads) but TV is a joke now but I think in new year I doubt i'll be tuning in unless they have revamped VH1 in new year but I aint holding out hope in that department either.....maybe new year more CLOSURES? (yeah I am looking at you MTV/Bauer get rid and also rename MTV Rocks back to MTV2 please as well as sack the controllers of VH1 would be great!)

I just briefly put it on as I was anticipating a new look for VH1 and it seems we are back at square 1 (green logo returns) .... VH1 is pretty much dead by the looks of things - how long do we reckon its going to last?? I doubt even VH1 UK will get an HD channel since there seems little effort coming from MTV UK/Viacom, but as our european counterparts have been saying seems VH1 (Europe) seems to be promoting a new look etc so why is VH1 UK not doing anything? (other than advertise the garbage over on MTV UK)

Still no change?
In Vh1 Europe appear new promos with new graphics old+new, i wonder if Vh1 Europe will change soon, Vh1 Poland still looks the same ;/ and still no Vh1 news on Vh1 UK?

This year VH1 UK will have 20 years, Viacom could put some refesh on the channel for f**k sake!

Do you think MTV will throw a party to celebrate VH1 at 20? Doubt it, but pretty sure they would allow their "reality stars" to have one though.

I was kind of expecting a new look of some sort since we spoke about it on this thread as was mentioned due to Christmas maybe the change will happen but guess not. The only promos you ever see on VH1 is that of MTV stuff its beyond a joke and who cares really whats happening on MTV if your a VH1 viewer?

I did take note and sorry if its slightly off topic but Comedy Central too was now advertising MTV's Stop the Domestic Abuse campaign (don't get me wrong on that but again its another MTV UK promo on another channel - is all these MTV promos put on these channels on purpose or what? Give it time or unless they have done so MTV programming promos will appear there next....)

There will be come a time when you see trailers for programs on MTV on Nick Jr and Nickelodeon, Trailers between Peppa Pig as the shows are not getting a audience. Not tight now but if they appearing on Comedy Central. They may end up on the kids channel soon.

That's correct, new promos featuring new graphics are now being shown on VH1 European. I think it's just a matter of time 'til all VH1 feeds in Europe get a "visual refresh" - although the actual contents will probably stay the same.

February, maybe?

MTV Not So Classic
It looks like the whole hour is dedicated to songs in the last year.

MTV Not So Classic indeed....or MTV Hits 2 or.....well, if this is a warning of the way they are about to go....

As if thats what the viewers really want..... its bloomin bad enough MTV Live HD has evolved into another MTV Hits .... may as well rename them this way

MTV Hits - no change
MTV LIVE - MTV HITS 2
MTV MUSIC - MTV HITS 3
MTV CLASSIC - MTV HITS 4
VH1 - MTV HITS 5 .... (not you) but as if its bad enough that the playlists are just about the same (just throw in the odd tune within last 5 years ... its complete!)

Curious question since I bloomin seen the ad for Geordie Shore from the beginning crap..... I see its advertised on all their channels on the right .... do they really think people that are into "rock" and even "dance" want to go and tune into this lot?, its bad enough VH1 advertising the crap need they advertise it more?? Give it time the advertising will possibly backfire....

Let me guess February Europe gets a new look whilst UK in February stays the same (rolls eyes), why is VH1 the most delayed channel on getting a makeover? (to say its to work out the bugs ..... it took MTV a week to fix the minor bugs of its titles .... I still think VH1 should have updated as same time of the new looks to MTV stations. It seems from the offset that VH1 Europe seems to be more taken of (correct me here if I am wrong) but VH1 UK is well left to rot (with mistakes and the heavy advertising of MTV shows, yet no advertising for their own station)

I don't think I would bother complementing VH1 Europe too much. Musically, the channel has really gone down the pan over the last few years. You can have swish new graphics yes, but if the content isn't any good what's the point? The channel now solely focuses on the 'biggest and newest hits', which means Rhianna, Katy Perry, Beyonce etc on heavy rotation alongside the usual predictable 'classics'. Additionally, the channel is on autopilot most of the time. The days of someone taking care to manually programme the videos are long gone. It has been this way since the Polish MTV office closed and programming went back to Camden.

AAH so it seems all VH1's UK/Europe are heading or headed the "dumbed down" route - why are they scared to go deeper into the archives is something I don't get! You all ball your heads off to slag them off but yet music of today is "the best" as they would say .... yeah how long til they will take the piss out of Pharrell "happy" next? (10 years from now ... they will end up listing that as a bad song.....) yet you lot friggin played it!, so basically these channels are nothing more than hypocrites i'll take it? (what a shocker)

Regarding programming to the UK - why the hell they doing that? I can understand London being capital but it ain't that great in creativity programming thats for sure!

I do think MTV Live has really lost its way .... Bieber was on today! Seriously? As I say I thought MTV Live was meant to be a breather of all music of today but its quickly turned into another MTV Hits and oh look they too advertise on top right "Geordie Shore on MTV...." - the only channel you thought would never say a thing like that has!

ADD: so I will take it too that all their channels have no "identities" now and even VH1, its basically the one and only identity they all are is MTV

VH1 European used to be excellent and certainly much more interesting to watch than its UK counterpart until a couple of years ago... but unfortunately that's no longer the case.

At some point in 2012, the UK gained back control of the channel and decided(?) to turn it into a carbon copy of MTV Hits, with a very limited selection of current, teen-oriented American pop releases repeated every hour or so, day in and day out. No more variety, no effort put into ANY of their programming, nothing left from their previous music policy!
