These mistakes are becoming very common sadly. VH1 is the worst affected, playlist errors are rife at the moment. Tonight from 10pm, there's also the new "Saturday" Night 00s Disco.

I'm not sure what could be the cause.. poor attention to detail? Resources stretched to breaking point as programmers have to work on multiple channels?

Yeah, that is ridiculous.

As I say, it's a case of if the face fits - if that was Perry/Gaga/Rihanna/Beyonce/Pink etc they'd play it.

Talking of Beyonce, they love her so much MTV Hits are currently playing her on Ultimate Party Hits From The Boys - something they aren't telling us?
Aaah so even MTV Hits can't get their programming right! Wow MTV is dumber than I first thought oh well not long now

I'm pretty sure Meredith Brooks "Bitch" will now be censored since us in the 90's heard it in full

Its like songs such as Scream/Shout and work from Britney they may as well let bitch through seems now an everyday word surprised no one has released songs calling someone a slut or slapper or even a bastard lol

But guaranteed you will hear all that language on MTV or if your a Geordie they'll use their terms and it'll get through without much issue ie "i'll be slamming her " (just an example )

Nominated songs for censorship: Ginuwine - Pony / Salt n Pepa - Giddy up / push it (would not surprise me since as mentioned Fairytale of New York has now been hacked to death....)

They played Katy Perry too, although it seems to be back on boys now.

I'd imagine it's just laziness. Simple errors happen, but they are hapenning almost daily.

Meredith Brooks i've not heard for a while - will they ever play it again?

Vault played JC Chasez - All Day Long I Dream About Sex, recently, which surprised me - it was all the way through as well, they couldn't exactly edit it.

Knowing the way these channels run its probably locked in an archive won't see light of day (can see Vintage TV playing it) but other than that .... no , I am pretty sure HeatRadio played it sometime last year either it was them or BBC Radio 2 , it be a laugh if they played Madonna Erotica in full (before 9pm)

I just read about you mentioned another error - it is laziness and surely its not hard to notice a song being played wrongly (oh wait they no longer use "fade" now on vids do they unless its rushing through the top 40 - but that programme has been edited to fit in within the time)

If this is a FIRST on MTV Hits (we could let this pass but comparing this to the sorry state of VH1 its terrible)

EDIT: Another song that avoided the censors of the 90's and I hope it does not get touched ---- chumbawumba - Tubthumpin' -- lyric "pissing the night away ..... pissing the night away .... I get knocked down I get up again" (how the heck we miss that one back in the day?? - or did both radio/TV think it was intitally "missing the night away......" lol

Heart may play it at some point....

This MTV ultimate Party Hits From The Boys is a mix - on screen it says boys as well as SKY EPG...

MTV make a lot of mistakes these days.

About the skipping/early ending of songs - Britney's 'Work' often gets ended early on Bauer and noticed Timberlake gets cut off alot. They even cut off Everyday I'm Shuffling about 5 seconds from the end. MTV's Official Charts often cut songs off.

Bauer have had some charts lately 99 Big Juicy........ whatever - Will Best presents - they play a song and then they tell you what's at (for example) 82 and 81 and don't play them, but then play 80, but not 79, play 78, not play 77,76 etc etc - pointless - it's not even an official chart, so why even bother doing a chart of 99 when they won't play over half the songs? If they have to show one of their numerous pointless charts, just do a top 40?

Barely tune into those "themes" on MTV hits etc ... find them boring lol, i'll agree it seems to be on charts they will cut off songs but remember these are "manually" done and is not "automated" really

Bauer and the big juicy list - I hate that show especially when they give clues on "coming up" and then SKIP the track .... why?? just play the FULL 100 or whatever, but then again they have done that a few times on Top 40 as well ... was it the Arctic Monkeys last year and it was the lot at Bauer had said something like .... we aint gonna play them .... pretty sure MTV still does but again I can be wrong

Also MTV should NOT be making mistakes be on a daily basis - back in the day there was rarely a mistake I seen, if there was pretty sure an apology would be made - now again its automated but they should know what they are PLAYING and what the TITLE of the programme is ... not throwing on random songs from the 00's to go into a 80's disco WTF? That is not mistakes (as its happened more than ONCE) that is either being done purposely or they have basically got staff who have no real clue on music - but they probably be more clued up on MTV's waste of space....

Wow thats a mood killer - VH1 has hit a new low how much lower can this channel get? It in desperation stage now yet those who run MTV UK don't give a flying fig what us viewers think! So it must be more obvious than ever they are out to basically taint the VH1 UK brand, any chance of closing it down now or getting a new controller with knowledge on music or what? (forget the upgrade now just get rid - its in a sad state now.....VH1 UK RIP 2014)

I don't dislike VH1 - they do play songs that not even Magic/Bliss will touch - Dido last year, Gabriel Aplin's current song (not a fan of either artist) - they just get alot of dates wrong, which is not good, but not a tragedy either - sometimes baffling and amusing...

I don't know how many channels show dates these days in their graphics (not including countdowns) but i'd imagine the MTV Channels would get alot wrong. Premium channels apparently.

Planet Pop recently have started calling Miley Cyrus, Miley Circus - how do you even make that mistake?

Lots of Dappy and Lee Ryan stuff around at the moment - aren't they on Big Brother? How to promote a couple of twits.....that said, they still promote Chris 'punch in the face' Brown and all the druggies, so why not Dappy and Lee Ryan.

It can look amusing i'll agree but in another way it should not be funny - this is from a commerical broadcaster that should know its own music not take the p out of it - and again they can tell you the names of people on their reality shows but can't tell musically? weird that is what they are catered to provide other than their crap shows!

I'll agree they are quick to play artists such as Chris Brown but its double standards really musically - artists we knew could be "deleted" forgotten about for incidents happened in the past (ok the Michael Jackson is debatable) but you think something as serious like the Rihanna incident with Chris Brown you would expect a ban but obviously not (Tulisa is another I can name - noticed she was on a Hotmix on 4Music recently)

Vintage TV at it now Tune in to 1993... "Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Sting "All For Love" first entered UK chart 1994.

Tune in to 1988 - "Mike & The Mechanics "The Living Years" entered UK Charts January 1989.

Tune in to 1989 - The La's "There She Goes" first entered chart 1988 peaked in 1990.

At least Vintage have an email facility to complain to.

At least look at it differently they are are only one or two years out of the year focusing on ... compared to VH1 its an 80's disco but we feature songs from 2000! (wtf has songs from another 2 decades got to do with 80s??) - give Vintage at least some credit there but compare them to VH1, at least its a better job!

That vid has never seen the light of day on MTV Dance (I believe that'll be a fact - prove me wrong ) - MTV Dance always play One More Time and barely the other songs come to think about it from this anime (MTV UK scared or something???)

Basically pointing out how "dumbed down" VH1 has now become and has Steve has said VH1 has became a shadow of its former self and the music videos that will never see the light of day

If you can't point out bizarre playlist errors on music channels in a thread about music channels, then where can you?

It a rule you can't .... you must praise the channels no matter (but no network is perfect anyway .... but then again MTV I do beg to differ now...)
