Vintage TV at it now Tune in to 1993... "Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Sting "All For Love" first entered UK chart 1994.

Tune in to 1988 - "Mike & The Mechanics "The Living Years" entered UK Charts January 1989.

Tune in to 1989 - The La's "There She Goes" first entered chart 1988 peaked in 1990.

At least Vintage have an email facility to complain to.
there is just a litte wrong with that. Only the year for The La's isnt correct, released in 1988 and again 1990. The other two tracks have the correct year - of their release. look at discogs.com

They didn't chart in the year therefore the were not hits in 1993 and 1988.

Try and put this to bed for you two according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_La%27s

The LA's charted "there she goes" in 1988 #53 (Ok it failed on that account) but in the "remix" in 1990 charted at #13 - don't point fingers at me now but maybe this will solve the case

It also helps that if these so called "music" channels got their info correct in first place and needs to be said so far VH1 is the worst offender of all!

Oh yeah need to highlight this caught the ad for 4Music whilst watching "ren and stimpy" (oh look an MTV/Nick show on there! - admit good seeing that back on) but in the ad its says UK'S #1 MUSIC CHANNEL - now correct me how can it be a #1 Music channel? it rarely plays music or should I say maybe 12 hours a day and weekends it possibly goes nearly 24 hours (teleshopping in between) but it ain't a music channel really?? The Box is a MUSIC CHANNEL but its like all the channels really same music day in day out anyway! - how the heck do they get away with it being "music" channels, just rename them entertainment or better yet Reality as thats what they mostly focus on than music (well researching has became that lazy there is hardly any effort being made unless its to do with todays current scene!)

VH1 has some minor schedule changes and new programme names from Saturday 1st February.

The new look will probably go live on that date, five months after appearing on the MTV website.

Wonder if they will have different people this time, I doubt it.

Its a 70's disco but we will play 90's music ... can you give us any info on these new programme names??

I wonder if they will cut the crap and stop bombarding the viewer all things MTV and we do get ads for the actual channel we are watching!

Have to say its pretty pathetic if true the new "changes" come into effect yet the MTV channels get new looks possibly every year without much issue

Small error by Heart

Time Tunnel 2000 - Fragma - Toca's Miracle - they played the later updated version from a couple of years ago and not the indoor football version.

All a bit picky though, it's the fist time i've seen a Heart error, although I can't say I tune in often.

Rise and Shine with VH1 becomes "Start Your Day the VH1 Way", and VH1 Shuffle becomes "Totally VH1". The themed Top 100 for that week is "Biggest Voices of All Time" which is something Magic has done recently.

80s/90s/00s Disco, Guess The Year and UK Top 40 are all left unchanged.

yyyyyeeeeeeppppp!!! - I won't hold my breath then .... expect more playlist errors (countdowns/themes), so other than that nothing new to bring apart from them eventually or possibly updating the long awaited graphics/logo --- may as well just close the pointless channel now save all the bother

I'll add "80/90/00's" disco really? - are they taking us for fools, they can't even keep to the DECADE they have in description and its been on a regularly basis, I seriously doubt that someone has got a kick up the ass and will playlist these correctly

VH1 Shuffle never hardly airs now at all, Its a shame because it will probably work better instead of the out of decade discos

Yeah thats all VH1 really does no matter the "theme" or countdown shown it already "shuffles" with errors in play.

Maybe we should just ask VH1 just to play songs within the last 4 years and keep that in rota since playing "decades" is too hard for them to stick with.

VH1 in general needs a major overhaul in programming really from all these "discos" "shuffles" and "themes" as well as that is hire people who actually have knowledge in MUSIC or better yet just revamp it and become another MTV clone altogether as that is what it looks like from the outset (less care whats being played more of MTV cack programming in your face ... really? Not all of us in the UK really care - either advertise some VH1 programming or nothing at all as MTV does nothing for me!) - must be obvious people who run these channels and management must have IQ's the size of a peanut and believe all things "reality" is the key to life - who they trying to kid here? Us or themselves? Out of the whole viacom/MTV UK family - the channels I believe have fell the same way as VH1, MTV (really), MTV LIVE, MTV Dance, Base, Rocks, VIVA and even Comedy Central seems like since the rebranding of most of these channels its gone straight downhill nothing exactly "exciting" to watch, the schedules are just stale now - and for the likes of Comedy Central I would not mind some classic comedies on CC Extra but again its basically CC all over again but under Extra - this lot at MTV UK have no real clue and basically lack any imagination into anything but if its "reality" that gets more of a priority to anything else going! (sorry if I went slightly off topic but if your wanting honesty on the Viacom/MTV UK network it covers it all)

90s Disco

Aqua - Turn Back Time
Michael Bolton - How Am I Supposed to Live Without You
Boyz II Men - End of The Road
Beverly Craven - Promise Me

Quite a nice selection of laid back love songs, but certainly not disco music. I think they must be doing this for fun, surely they can't make so many mistakes!

Your probably right - as mentioned previous - we can assume that before broadcast that nothing is checked before and as you mentioned these are more like "love" songs than "disco" - so who the hell is running this show and why the hell no one has no real knowledge on music?

They call these "discos" a decade yet they can't stick to that and there seems little care in "genre" they are covering.

If its for "fun" it ain't funny and those that are running these programmes think it is, its a low depth for them to think, but hey its obvious if your a viewer of VH1 MTV blantly ignores your "comments" as I still have not had a response from them. If this is VH1 UK as of now what will it be in the future? Or are we looking at VH1 going completely MTV next (as if not already) and become MTV2?

If you can't point out bizarre playlist errors on music channels in a thread about music channels, then where can you?
But that's *all* you guys now talk about. Who cares whether a song came out in 1988 or 1989?

It's usually not as trivial as that. For example there was an "80s Disco" full of Pink, Rihanna etc. Chris Rea appeared in a chart of supposedly dead musicians. MTV and VH1 as the premium, pay music channels shouldn't really be making errors like that on such a regular, almost daily basis.

and might I ask what exactly have you "contributed" to this thread then?

Its not just about when a song came out its how stupid they put certain songs or artists into their themed countdowns its ridiculous!

also read back on certain "disco" themes that have been posted up and you will get the jest of what we mean

Does anybody know how UKHot40 is worked out and if it has changed lately?

Lots of songs from early 2013 in it still after they had left UK Hot 40 some time ago - Britney and Will I Am at number 19 and it's not even been in the Official Top 100 for months. Surely it hasn't had that much airplay lately?

I thought that show was based on sales and airplay?

I've noticed the top 10's are both the same though?

Bizarre how certain songs have come back after so much time.

NOW Music is 'now' streaming online at www.nowmusic.com/watch

Update: All the AATW channels are available to watch at http://www.aatw.com/

I think all the free music channels are streaming now except the Chartshow group, who don't seem to do websites.

Are the UKHot40 and UK Hot 40 different charts or just different ways of writing them?

Bizarre in this day and age

Just me writing them differently for some reason.

BigTop40 is something else again.

The only one that you can really take notice of is The Official UK Top 40, although I stopped taking much note of that some time ago.

So what do you mean both charts are the same? Which charts?
