Quite possibly. For these channels to stop showing teleshopping at the same time, and at the start of the month, suggests some sort of contract hasn't been renewed.

There can't have been a lot of people buying a steam cleaner after seeing an advert on Scuzz or Channel AKA at 4am, especially as most of the other music channels were showing the same/similar teleshopping too.

Has Teleshopping definitely stopped?

The only difference it will make to me is at 6am, but for my eldest who need less sleep than me, they are going to be delighted!

Just looked on MTV UK site and "randomly" chose days and channels but according to them Teleshopping is still on

Possibly we were living on high hopes of it going back to the good ol days but guess we still have to put up with that crap

My Sky guide is showing all channels as being on from 3am bar the MTV ones - the MTV ones being pay ones too.

Teleshopping is still on MTV channels and 4Music. It has gone from all the other music channels.

I'm guessing it stays on 4Music as it has a greater reach than Bauer's other channels.

It will probably be the same music as throughout the day, but an improvement on teleshopping.

Surely if these are subscription channels there really is no need for this and why has the likes of Sky told these channels off?? Being honest teleshopping should not be even on these channels lets be honest - you either do a full 24 hours of "music" or whatever they choose to be or basically CLOSE at night, why should these channels rely on an "income" in this recession whilst your working person sluggers out for a wage? (but the likes of MTV throws its money on wannabes - something wrong with this picture!)

We aren't in a recession.

Yes, I'm sure that we aren't in recession. What a strange question. Also, yes I do see a small recovery.

Anyway back on topic. I wonder if MTV Base has a new controller? They are playing lots of new videos that no one else is playing. I'm discovering quite a lot of new music because of that channel, it's good to see.

Its not a strange question - well why do these channels need teleshopping?? MTV and the alike use to run 24 hours a day without the teleshopping so why now? (income issues I presume?) Sorry but from where I live I hardly see any "recovery" find that more dead in the water. MTV Base varies from time to time but their playlisting at times is just similar to MTV Hits or MTV Dance (not much new there)

VH1 90s Disco was a lot better last night, with no mistakes or love songs spotted. Annie Lennox - Little Bird was an unusual surprise.

A recession is two consecutive quarters of falling gdp, gdp has risen for the last four quarters which means the recession ended over a year ago.

Personal feelings do not count as long as gdp is rising then we are not in a recession.

OK so lets turn this back around then ... the likes of MTV should not have teleshopping running on their channels if the economy has picked up (correct?)

But how does personal feelings not count? (not having a go at you steven) but I fail to understand that and who is feeling this so called "difference" as it ain't me and pretty damn sure there is alot out there not feeling we have picked up at all (if we have it probably not as much)

EDIT: as far as we know facts/figures could be made up as far as anyone knows (or as I will say read between the lines)

I presume its took them over 6 months to rectify the mistakes (lets give them a clap) - I do wonder if someone new may have came in or have they actually been taking complaints on board?

Of course your personal feelings count. But all I was getting at was that we aren't in a recession so it's not right to say that we are. The figures won't be made up it's pretty hard to falsify the GDP of a country. As for who is seeing the difference? Well one thing I've noticed in the surrounding towns and villages here is that there's less empty shops and cafés and restaurants are absolutely packed again. Of course it depends on where you live, things in the North East aren't so great for example.

The fact that there is teleshopping on these channels might not be linked to the performance of our economy. It could be that viewing figures for that type of channel have declined over the last few years. There's more music channels now than there used to be so the audience will be more spread out too.

I agree with you on the first part but I believe the further you go out of London there is probably little difference, I am in North East Scotland and I don't see any signs of recovery and all I hear is jobs are coming yet that has been said for more than a year now and no change (apologies if its went off topic)

That maybe true that decline in viewers may have caused this but surely your doing yourselves more harm than good and what good is "teleshopping" to the viewer?? Yeah basic switch off, I live in the STV area and I have now got to contend with The Nightshift a programme full of recycled clips and nothing more (a text number and a show which was on for 3 days a week and has just from tonight been extended to run now for a whole week (fair enough it aint teleshopping but its beyond pathetic now), you either just close after a certain time then resume, they done that in analogue days (OK MTV/THE BOX/VH1 were 24 hours but now they aint)

Regarding "music" wise of these channels - most of them are just basically catering to the same songs on every channel, you may on the odd occasion will get something different but the playlists now are "safe". There is lack of any variety what you see say on MTV Hits will be on MTV Music or even Live, VH1 is just basically MTV Hits and yet made mistakes. But all these channels care for is that we all tune into MTV and its crummy shows yet music is more like second in my opinion

Loving Bliss' 00's countdown.

It's just a shame most of them are from the 10's (and i'm not really loving it, i'm just amused)

Is there any further news on this? They seemed to be gearing up for a new look a few weeks ago when VH1 News and some new chart bumpers appeared, but I haven't seen either since.

The music on VH1 definitely seems better recently, with no obvious errors and some more unusual tracks.

VH1 UK (and Europe) aren't using new graphics yet.

I saw VH1 News on the UK channel earlier this month, but only once. Perhaps they'll show it more often when the new look launches.

Seen it tonight on VH1 UK yet the new graphics in the news do not go along with the old logo (hurry up MTV and update this dated channel!)

Apparently there are problems with the new graphics, so there has been a delay.
