Is there a music tv programme that let's you know what the new singles are out this week or next week
Sadly not, although The Box does have one show (forget the name) which has future hits and has a date in the bottom right hand corner.

Check here > http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-...-02-2014-2296/ < for new releases.

Clubland playing a top 60 tonight. A top 60 that started with number 64. Impressive.

I'm glad I don't watch music channels much if atall these days. Use Youtube.

Bliss seems to dip into the alternative/indie chart music makes you wonder why NME TV ever shut down.

Try The Upfront Chart (on as I type and dates are on there) may also be on any program with 'upfront' in it.

The Voice BG did a 90s only edition of "Party" yesterday.
Alongside the very predictable tunes that MTV is playing too, they played some unexpected ones like:

Coldcut/Lisa Stansfield - people hold on
The Shamen - boss drum / phorever people
Rollo Goes Mystic - love love love here i come
Sven Väth - face it
Yello/Stina Nordenstam - to the sea

The graphics on MTV channels seem to have been moved slightly to place them back in the 4:3 safe zone.

Chartshow Dance will not doubt be replaced at some point of this year with those abysmal ratings they have had over the last 6 months , having it replaced Scuzz on freesat hasn't benefited the slightest in terms of viewing.

Not much surprised - they may as well just become a complete entertainment channel or why not just be another extension to Comedy Central?

Can't predict anything but one would be is VH1 gets its long awaited rebrand maybe all the music channels (if we can call them that?) actually stick to playing music they are meant to lay than the run of the mill playlist and actually start delving more into their archives?

I do think some channels need to go and merge as it is getting too much now .... ie Bauer channels close Smash Hits OR Heat (More Smash Hits I think)

MTV Channels - close MTV Music and merge MTV Dance and Base (again the way I say theses channels is playlisting) - MTV Music is basically MTV Hits (2) MTV Live moves away from being such a "poppy" channel and actually varies it playlists (how many times do you need to see Girls Aloud on MTV Live??)

MTV Base is still much improved since the start of the year. Lots of good stuff on the playlist that no one else is playing.

Merging MTV Base and Dance would be a bad idea. I don't understand where this view that people who like hip hop and R&B would also definitely like dance music. I don't! Vice versa also.

Looks like they plan to keep CSC Dance despite its poor performance.

Yet MTV Dance features some of these same artists ie Jason Derulo Flo-Rida (just a couple), supposedly MTV Dance/Base were back in the start of the 00's under MTV Base so it has been done.

Regarding people who like hip hop r&b and dance (technically I do fall under that) but the playlists the last time I looked at times come across as similar (whether its changed is news to me)

Checked MTV Dance/Base playlist: Tinie Tempah, Flo-rida, Enrique Iglesias Justin Bieber

Ok lets put this into more context what has Flo-rida/Tinie Tempah really got to do with MTV Dance surely they should be more MTV Base??
Enrique Iglesias and Justin Bieber - seriously Justin Bieber on MTV Base?? WTF? Your basically saying its still alright to put up Cheryl Tweedy Cole on that channel too!
Enrique Iglesias - I am a bit confused why he is even on MTV Dance (yes he has had a few "dancy" tracks but thats not the point), the channels need a major overhaul on all their playlists and start from scratch and actually stick to what their "identity" really are as if you look at Flo-rida/Tinie Tempah blantly obvious they will be played on both channels but MTV Dance should be exactly that Dance and Base same Hip Hop and R&B none of this bieber crap on!

They have gone a long way from the great logos of the 80's and 90's. The Chart Show revamp was always a must see - these look so dull and forumlated.

I can see the logic of putting Bieber on Base if he has a rapper in the song also, same with Enrique, Pitbull is in his latest song so I don't find it too offensive that it is on Base.

MTV Dance strays away from what it should be much more than Base does.

Lots of the current pop-urban-dance crossovers are suitable for both Dance and Base.

Both channels are playing DVBBS - Tsunami, which started as a Dutch dance track before being given vocals from Tinie Tempah for its UK release. Disclosure ft. Mary J Blige is another which appears on both channels.

These tracks are much closer to dance music compared to the likes of Eminem and 50Cent who used to feature on MTV Dance a lot.

So lets put his song with a "rapper" to be featured on Base? I am guessing that the highlight is to feature the "rapper" still it puts me off MTV Base - all these channels are really become too "poppy" for my own liking.

I'll agree with you on the MTV Dance side but surely they should know what Dance actually is??

Again that maybe true but whats the point in featuring them on BOTH channels (logically speaking), I initally thought that these channels were more separate musically but at times to me it comes across as whats the point of having the channels?

Its like saying in regards to MTV Hits and MTV Music - seems the same playlists yet may have random shows on ie borrowed from MTV Live again get rid of MTV Music and if need be then if you want to "simulcast" shows then use MTV Hits instead? I just find these channels are lacking in any variety - what you see on VH1 will appear on MTV Hits, what you see on MTV Dance will appear on MTV Base or oddly enough appear on MTV Rocks (Bastille??)

Bliss has been renamed 21st Century Bliss, with new song graphics too.
Not sure if this is permanent or temporary.

Bliss seems to be my most watched music channel recently - am a country fan and they've had a few tracks that never get played on any other channels, and am liking the mix of Indie/Rock mixed in too.
