Logo has not changed much.

Kerrang still has the oldest graphic set on music tv I believe they have used that set since 2006.

Looks like CSC Media has taken control of StarzTV just seen them running the same competitions as the CSC music channels.

They've used the same phone/text number for the competitions for some time, but only in the last couple of days have they had the same competitions and graphics/voiceovers as CSC.

There's one of the channels that plays the top 40 but the guy (think there's a woman too) talks over the end of the song or it just fades before the end of the song and then they blab about the next hit.
My daughter (now 18) is at the stage in her life where she doesn't follow the trend and listens to all sorts of music. She likes to listen to dance music but when we land on clubland, while going through the channels, She looks and then asks what song that is. Think we miss it when there's songs on that we've heard of.

Both MTV/Bauer channel charts have voiceovers on countdowns (wish they would just automate that as well)

I don't have Clubland but if I am being honest the whole range lack in any variety and even if they played something from 80/90's its up for a slagging, I like my R&B and dance music but since artists crossovering its ruined it for me, I'll still listen to likes of Tinie Tempah, Jason Derulo but lets get back to proper playlisting what songs/artists should be! There is no need in artists lets say playing on every channel who they kidding? It has gone out of control and they are killing themselves in the run

Vault played Beyonce - Drunk In Love, last night. They dug really deep for that one.

Heat's news today - they still managed to describe someone as a hottie when delivering the news that some guy (Chris Pine?) had been in court for drink driving. Such a shallow channel.

Hello,
is there still a televisionmusic channel on 28,2e that plays predominant 80īs music??

I remember last year Bliss had many songs on their playlist. But since they changed to 21st century Bliss most 80īs music disappeared.

VH1 Classic used to be mainly 80s music, but that stopped when it became MTV Classic. There's no UK channel which plays mostly 80s music now.

MTV Classics's Every Number One of the 90s/00s weekend was good, playing every track in order just like the old Number Ones Week on VH1. Although by 8pm last night they were only up to 2004 with DJ Casper's "Cha Cha Slide". Did they reach the end of 2009 by 3am?

Music channels are dead now and MTV will soon put more programs on the channels, South Park for MTV Classic in the evening and Shore catch up on MTV Base.

I am sure they done that before and I believe MTV Base had Run's House on at one point as well Jersey Shore on there! I mean WTF had that lot of Jersey Shore got to do with MTV Base?? (this lot are well out of touch with "reality")

That's what they used to do, with programmes like Pimp My Ride on Base and Jackass on MTV2. The MTV music channels stopped showing these kind of programmes by 2010 and I don't think they're coming back.

I agree but they could easily shut down some of the music channels instead for example a new Viacom line up could be:

Music:

MTV Music
MTV Classic
MTV Live
VH1
VIVA

Entertainment:

MTV Base > MTV Two next to MTV
MTV Hits > MTV Two +1
MTV Dance > Comedy Central 3
MTV Rocks > Comedy Central 3+1

I think VH1 will stay as it's been on air for years and they can play variety on it and allow MTV Classic to play more classic rock or older MTV shows.

Viacom struggle to fill Comedy Central and Extra as it is, CC has become Friends Central every weekend and Extra seems to be lost at times. CC3, please no!

MTV Two, what's it going to show that's different to MTV? If old skool Beavis and Butthead, Daria etc then cool (but doubtful of course).

I agree with the condensing of the MTV channels though! MTV Music is surely just the same as Hits and Base put together at times? I'd like to think MTV Rocks would stay though!

7 hours for 5 years - no chance.

Heat are in on the act now - a 1999 number 1 in their noughties playlist - it was a first for them that I saw, so all is forgiven - all they need to do now is take off celebrity news "He's fit" "She's amazing" all pretentious swollocks.

What we really need is a channel that plays Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry etc etc - oh wait, we already have 27 of them.

They are getting worse, if it's at all possible.

Typical of Box TV not to play Human League's 'Don't You Want Me' on UK Hot 40 because it's "old".

but yet they play it on Magic - what is wrong with these channels?? If its hit the charts and is in it play the video than say its "old" in 10 years or so no one will remember the Bieber anyway

I didn't know it was back in the chart, but I am not surprised.

Did they play 'We Built This City" when it was in the charts?

I know MTV played the whole version.

Clubland have a new X-Treme In The Booth programme or two - it's basically DJ's remixing other peoples songs but all you see on the screen for the full hour or two is a pair of arms and some decks etc.....i'm sure it would be great on radio, but on TV it just doesn't work..

BuzMuzik is closing on Thursday 3rd April at 6:00am. By the looks of it , it seems it will be replaced with a placeholder channel possibly True Entertainment +1 with a movie being shown in the early hours of 2:00am of Friday morning , I think the reason behind the closure of BuzMuzik could be that CSC now own and now operate StarzTV seeing as its been given a graphics refresh and the same competitions from the CSC music channels.

Well spotted. It seems that the company which owned Starz (Cloud Television One Ltd) was sold to CSC in December. It makes sense to close BuzMuzik, as Starz was always more popular.

Interesting that they're dropping the less-viewed but technically superior BuzMuzik - which, for instance, allows Facebook as well as SMS messaging - and on which they've previously withdrawn video voting, in favour of taking over a channel which still uses solely SMS and still has voting! Maybe they'll integrate some elements of BuzMuzik into Starz, mind.
Also notable that the chat matrix on Starz is on air longer in the day than that of Buz, and charges twice as much per message - perhaps that swayed the thinking? I'm guessing that in the run-up to the closure they'll try and sway the Buz viewers to swap to Starz, though I don't know if they'll all be happy to!
I'm also assuming an EPG reshuffle when Buz goes, presumably shifting CS Dance to 372 and shutting off 382 as it's a standalone channel further down the grid and so easier to get rid of.
One positive in this move is it does reduce the duplication in the guide, feeding two similar services into one and does free up a slot for CSC to do something else - and don't forget they've already got one placeholder, ?TV in the Lifestyle guide, which may see change given Sky's merging Entertainment and Lifestyle back together later in the year.
Not sure what the current Buz broadcast capacity will go to, mind, or where the 2am-4am block used for the new placeholder is coming from (the hours suggest, like ?TV, it'll be timeshared with an existing channel).

It seems to have been taken off today. I returned home about 15 minutes ago and it's gone. 372 on Sky is now not a channel number.
