LOL, I only have Freeview

What did you think of it?
Only caught a very bit of it. Didn't sound my sort of thing, but would near to hear more of it than I did.

What channels do you get on Freeview? Just Viva and 4Music?

Yep

Viva is the Fresh Prince channel. I feel I am back in 1993. It's 20+ yrs old ffs..let it die. Plus programmes about slaggy teens who can't keep their legs shut.

4Music - Needs to be done under the Trades Description Act

The bonus is the radio channels....I only find Heat, Magic and Absolute bearable.

Yep It works on my Mum's TV. Unfortunately, I've a basic Freeview box and do not have broadband. These posts are through a mobile phone and a dongle.

I've had a few posts like that. I'm a bit of typing whizz lol

Thing is, it would cost me hundreds to get a phone line put in and landlord does not allow dishes so therefore I'm somewhat limited.

That's a bummer.

To go with a phoneline, you'd need a PC etc etc, so it would add up. I've only got a fairly basic PC and normal SKY and all of the basic things cost enough without HD and all the extras.

Hopefully one day you can get something a bit more, Most be very frustrating with just Viva and 4Music

I have a laptop which I use my dongle for, but that's only for banks and a good session online with forums.

I was hoping to improve things with an inheritance, but I got less than I expected which will basically pay for a holiday and a bit of furniture.

It is sadly, as some of the Freesat channels such as Starz and Clubland (despite an over-realiance on Nicki Minaj) are good music channels.

I guess that can cost though? Dongles aren't cheap are they?

Balancing act. I guess furniture is kind of important

Hopefully more will go freeview within time. They may have to so they gain more viewers.

Gifgaff offers 3gb of top-up for £12.50 a month. That's enough, but you can't hammer it by being on Youtube constantly. My mobile contract has unlimited data for £15 a month but the 3g signal can be poor in my flat during the day due to a faulty transmitter

Apparently, it's a cost issue...a bit like everything in the UK. Surely Starz and Clubland (AATW) have the funds to join?

Not too bad, but my ISP is £10.31 a month unlimited, so I would be frustrated with the amount my household uses - probably more than 3GB a day.

I don't know how it works to be honest. They are on SKY so what happens? Sky pays them or they pay Sky?

I'm not sure it's at MTV Base as of yet, but it's somewhere in-between.

I'm not sure MTV even know what dance music is.
I don't think MTV knows what music actually is and how to "categorise" the artists!

I guess the money is being spent on keeping the tossers from The Valleys and Geordie Shore in fake tan
LOL .... I wouldn't be at all surprised - just look at VH1 .... not a revamp in sight, yet the sister stations are bang up to date

4Music Fresh countdown needs to realise if a song has or is number one it is not fresh.

How do the people who run these channels get jobs?

That's true.

This Friday countdown on 4Music, why is it always Beyonce-robot, Rita Oral, Calvin and Ellie everytime? Surely there are other tracks to play?

It appears to be groundhog day on smashhits in the mornings. Noticed it a few times this week while channel surfing but just had a look in the EPG and "Official UK Airplay: Top 20" is on every weekday morning at 8am - last week, this week and next week.

I guess they are not music people first and foremost

Doesn't surprise me. Lack of invention is a common theme.

Pretty sure people will be sick of seeing that on everyday .... shows you where "creativity" has gone in these channels

I loved this when it was shown on Trouble/BBC back in the day (glad I have the DVD's as well) but your right it is also on that channel MTV as well ..... VIVA is really MTV2 ... your basically have described whats happened to MTV

as for 4Music - may as well be renamed kardashian central, i admit i may on the occasion watch fonejacker/8 out of 10 cats but channel in general does NOTHING for me just like VIVA, investing hasn't gone far as I can see

Kiss have just started a top 100 Dance sellers of the 21st Century.

Get ready for loads of Urban dance by the sounds of things - starting with Guetta feat Usher - Little Bad Girl

Actually, it's Ludacris and Taio Cruz, those massive dance artists.
