Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but Chart Show TV have a new look.

The graphics remind me of Smash Hits/KISS previous graphics sets, a little. An improvement in my view anyway!

Chart Show is also launching on Freeview next week, but only from 10pm-6am.

I may have to take my comments back about the graphics - just now there was a "DON'T MISS" graphic that came up across the whole of the screen advertising a countdown tonight :O

It's actually very good. Must be preparing it for the Freeview launch?

Bliss looks a photo shop job though and the low bitrates tell. CSC channels look flat and washed out.

The Vault had similar hours when it was Video Vault on Sky years ago.

Clearly the fact they never went for early morning slots means they must have intensions of taking it into a 24 hour slot in the future. Always Bid TV/Price drop capacity?

Freeview might just save CSC from there viewing figure disaster. Chart Show TV is viable it's been owned by others in the past. The string of terrible pop channels is another question though.

So can I safely say that this is an actual music channel?? - no non programming on channel? ... its a miracle but hell at least it has a start/finish time (freeview only)

I predicted that these channels could come years ago in a part time basis. Finally it's happened Freeview space must be cheap these days.

They are already doing that - give it time they will all convert to "entertainment" channels, what you missed on MTV will next appear on MTV Base

and as with errors VH1 use to be good at that as well - surprised that no research is done - how can no one spot errors?

If this can be applied to VM I will be happy - does this channel play arrange of chart hits ie from 70s to present or is it just music of today??

I think with freeview maybe they see an initative behind it?

MTV channels sometimes promote Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and BET, so they probably will start cross promoting Channel 5, but not for a few months.

The only thing I watched on Channel 5 was NCIS - gone off it with them broadcasting it, however I use to watch Archer but Channel 5 took the p out of that show and unsure if it will be aired again but Channel 5 does nothing for me - just like MTV/VIVA does, Viacom may invest in Channel 5 in next few months but I aint holding out on hope

Define "quality" content?? All we see is the never ending Valleys/Shores on MTV - VH1 whats happened to its needed update? That too still has MTV ads on it when it shouldn't, Channel 5 will just be used as another base to cross promote MTV but yet will we see any promotion telling the viewer to check out VH1? I doubt it but I can see Channel 5 ads appearing on VH1 again I ask, if Viacom is investing in the now Channel 5 as well as MTV where is the investment in VH1 it desperately needs?

Channel 5 is classed as a main channel and VH1 is a nothing channel.

Weird way in working it (was not having a go at you hyperstarsponge) - just baffled as what stands for "quality" these days

that is a good one Ch 5 classed as main whilst VH1 is "nothing" yet its them the owners that are running VH1 into the ground, in regards with Channel 5 either it will pick up or that too will be dragged into the ground like VH1, I can't see Viacom really doing much investing in it - what can they really bring to Channel 5? VIVA is basically MTV2 (with crap) Channel 5 - MTV3 - more crap

Ironically VH1 UK made a few music documentary shows for Channel 5 about 10 years ago. I think one of them was about Abba.

Well they said they are boosting the program budget of Channel 5 every year, They won't be allowed to do a VIVA to Channel 5 because of PSB objections.

Mind you in saying that Channel 5 at the moment is aiming at the lowest common denominator anyway (well most of them are), can't really see any big difference to Channel 5 under Viacom

This is an IF and only IF Viacom is able to turn round Channel 5 then why can that not be applied to VH1? So I will take it Viacom UK's priority is MTV/Channel 5 now - yep VH1 is out the window thats for sure!

I assume the reason for repeat is short on programming - surprised they did not repeat the UK Hot 40
