It seems that The Box, 4Music, Kiss, Smash Hits, Magic, heat and Kerrang have all tweaked their graphics to move everything to the edges at some point today (was still 4:3 safe this morning)

Interesting.

The Kerrang graphics have been the same since 2008 making them the oldest set of all the music channels.

That goes back to the EMAP days.

VH1's current graphics are also from 2008. The new logo has been on the MTV website since last October but still hasn't changed on air. I've heard the European version will go widescreen on 28th May but I bet they just stretch the old graphics like the UK version.

I saw a show on Showcase2 last night called NUsic TV. I think it was basically like Propeller's old show 'Tuune' which played unsigned artists.

What music channels do you watch most?

I watch Clubland, Scuzz, The Vault and Chart Show the most. Used to watch Bliss but CSC have murdered it.

Has anyone noticed that Heat has become a copy of The Vault now? They used to play current chart music like The Box, Kiss and Smash Hits but now they play cheesy pop. I think it's quite good though as there's been some videos I've never seen before.

I noted today that Viva's DOG is odd have they adjusted the aspect ratio? the MTV channels at moment remain unaffected (same with VH1) anyone notice?

Is Planet Pop closing down?

They've been removed from the Freesat EPG and haven't updated Twitter or Facebook since April.

I noticed it now, VIVA isn't a music channel mostly these days.

Thats true - why the sudden change in adjusting its logo? (don't like it if I am honest its too far in!) - Viva is going "in picture" whilst Bauer channels have now gone to the "corners" whats next VH1/MTV channels to be "in picture" next? (you all probably know the ratio's better than me lol)

I misread this as VH1 the other day as I'm used to seeing you post about that channel haha

Yes Viva is much smaller and nearly in the middle of the screen. It would look better if it was nearer the side though.

I hope I have read this correct - are you saying all these "international" MTV channels in Europe are now getting our UK versions? If this is true even European versions are now finally sinking and scraping barrels now .... there goes different music cultures out the window! I wonder what the next step for VH1 in europe that too to come from UK?

Why the long delay - they just recently add VH1 News (basically MTV News just with voiceover like they do on Viva)

The logo your correct with that - why update it on your website but not the channel - MTV UK channels have had that many "rebrands" (adjusting logo, graphics etc) whilst VH1 is still in 2008 - about time MTV UK got its fingers out and either update the channel with a new revamp or just call time on the channel, its bad enough when you stop on VH1 your seeing MTV ads appearing (can't avoid them really as they appear on their sister channels and advertised on top right hand side - how does MTV get away with advertising that much for their shows??)

I apologise really on VH1 - I am just fed up on waiting on its revamp if I am honest lol but I guess its not much rated to the MTV staff nowadays - MTV is #1 and priority no matter it seems

yeah I noticed Viva's logo, I prefer the logos being near the corners (like most UK channels as far as I am aware of again if wrong correct me) but I personally don't like it, its shrunk, surprised there has been no rebrand on there to accomodate the change, just looks odd

When I was a lot younger, I used to watch these channels all the time. I must tune in again to see how these channels have changed.

International MTV Dance , MTV Rocks and MTV Hits with Czech license

Released: May 15, 2014 , 13:44 | Author: editor

Prague Society MTV Networks Ltd. received from the Czech Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting ( RRTV ) satellite license for the operation of three international versions of music television MTV Rocks , MTV Dance and MTV Hits .

Satellite licenses for International MTV Rocks , MTV Dance MTV Hits International and International valid for 12 years . MTV Rocks International will bring the program to the world's rock and alternative production , 24 hours a day in English. MTV Dance International will offer a musical program focused on the worldwide music production , especially in dance music for a young audience , 24 hours a day in English. MTV Hits International is a musical program focused on the biggest international hits of popular music , 24 hours a day in English.

The one problem is though our UK versions are umm how should I say NOT 24 hours - stops at 3am-6am for the wonderful world of "teleshopping" - I wish the European channels just kept their own feed to save grace but going to link up with the UK versions is going to be a major disaster. MTV Live is an example originally broadcast from Poland (I believe) since UK control its crap really and is the only MTV channel in UK that is 24 hours

Europe now has its own versions of MTV Hits/Dance/Rocks. They used to get the UK versions with all the British adverts, teleshopping and annoying Geordie Shore promos!

AAH thanks omnidirectional - bit of confusion here - so Europe has "left" UK versions for their own version now - GREAT!! , Really? Wow thats good of MTV UK to heavily promote Geordie Shore to the rest of Europe - I just think since MTV UK (was OK when it started) but more recently in standards why the need for teleshopping/bombarding the viewers to go to MTV for I have no real idea - why do they not concentrate on giving their sister stations a bit of identity AWAY from the MTV main channel is that not the point?

Watching VH1 - we tell our viewer please go check latest on MTV I assumed that VH1 was a channel for us born between the 70's onwards but their advertising demographic is off balance - MTV UK please actually cater to all your viewers needs than just ONE

Anybody else miss the 80's music on music channels? I don't mean the odd bit of cheesy pop on Heart from that era but remember all the music The Hits use to play on classic hits weekend? Dire straits to Aha?

I'm surprised they don't play them as songs like 'Take on me' will be around forever.

I'm confused. What's the announcement then?

When I was in Italy they had a completely different version of MTV Hits, their own version. Same with France. What's changing?

You picked the only 2 countries in Europe that already have separate versions of MTV Hits (actually, it's called MTV Idol in France).
The UK version is available everywhere else - not for long, though!

No I don't but I miss the 90's music.

21st Century Bliss is the worst music channel ever. I don't know what they were thinking when they came up with the idea to change a good music channel with a varied playlist and good presentation to a horrible piece of crap that only plays the latest chart music and constant 1D countdowns. The graphics and logo are terrible too.

Agree awful channel.

Might as well call it Chart Show Xtra !!

Chart Show Dance i don't think will be with us for very long either as it's still using the old chart show logo and graphic set while Chart Show TV is using a new Headphones logo and graphics. You'd think they would have rebranded it as the same time as MTV do when they rebrand their 'branded' channels.

Chart Show Party would be a better name for Chart Show Dance if you ask me because 99% of their output is Up Tempo Pop or Cheesy Pop Remixes !

Chart Show's new look is one of the best I've seen. Wish they would sack Stephanie Faleo though as she seems to hate proper music.

I have a feeling that SubTV Music is coming soon as it was licensed by ofcom last month (I posted on the previous page) so maybe it could replace CS Dance or Planet Pop.

It's actually a decent offering it shows some indie music and early 00's better than cheesy pop on The Vault. That said it replaced a good channel under Sky days Bliss was a decent channel. The channel as it is now offers more than many other channels but I do agree graphics are rubbish.
