I agree its the only MTV "musically" in HD but its pathetic really ... UK has since abandoned its Nick HD content which had animation on ... now its music but most of the time it aint that different to the others - I always took MTV Live was a bit of a breather from their normal playlists but its fallen into the same ie Beyonce, Rihanna, Cole possibly 1D (err why??)

Got nothing against Paloma Faith listened to her album recently - pretty good and one track featured Pharrell (good too - puts Blurred Lines to shame!)

I have never seen Outhere Brothers on Bauer/MTV channels in ages as I say last time was the every #1 on VH1 about 6 years ago (they probably do get played maybe I miss it?) but the daytime output needs improving (why not put acts like them back on MTV Dance during the day than the usual Harris, Guetta?? Come on!)

Ice MC - I played the remix on Amazon - too fast for my liking the remix prefer the original if I am honest but that track gets played there? Oh what a surprise another station plays acts (sometimes) that MTV Dance should be playing but decide not too?

Am I missing something out on these channels it seems more like I am being phased out thats for sure, yet songs I look for appear on channels I don't have ie Clubland

I do agree that the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce should not be on Clubland it makes a mockery of what I knew of the brand and again its jumping the bandwagon that MTV/Bauer are following (hint stand out be different than follow but it won't happen)
MTV Live was great when it was in Poland. When it moved to the UK, they killed it.

Yeah, not a fan of Paloma, but she's one of the artists that hasn't sold herself.

MTV Dance is a weird one. They do play non Guetta/Harris but even on their moments away from them, it's strange dance.

What channels can you not get? Just go to aatw.com for Clubland (or was it you with no computer and just the phone....or was that cnbcwatcher?)

Clubland do play 90% dance, although they drift sometimes. They always have had this thing where they must play certain hits a certain amount of times a day over any requests - at the moment they have 6/7 songs they play every chance they get.

It's like airplay charts on any channel - all manipulated to play the songs they want to play, so when the airplay chart comes out, it's played again.

MTV Live - Poland please take over UK control please!!

Paloma - yeah she is alright can stand her at least

MTV Dance - LOL strange dance .... most definately is! Take your pick ... is it actually Dance, choreographed and well just basic pop dance? .... the choice is yours!

I think you maybe speaking of cnbcwatcher - I don't have Clubland on Virgin Media but I did not know that had site til you mentioned it

Clubland - 90% dance whats the other 10%? Chart/crap pop with bieber?? , I think that must apply to the other channels play certain tracks as much as possible once its been overplayed its chucked til a TOP 100 of year.....

I don't understand "airplay" charts its more to me of basically a top 40 on rota with a mix of old and new songs (old songs that should have went out that year but linger about but yet you will have a re-entry of a 1999(year is random) track and that will not appear in that chart or if it is recognised would it be glossed over?

Most UK towns have been taken over by Poland already.

Well, they have this new weird dance that is doing well in the charts - not even sure what genre it is.

Check the site out - you can watch Clubland, Planet Pop, AKA and one other I forget....Now? I think...

Clubland chuck in the odd Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Tulisa, Chris Brown but is is mainly dance of some sort. Certainly over 50% of their playlist no other channel touches.

As I say, Airplay charts are manipulated - pointless. Viewers Request charts, ok, but only Clubland do those charts, occasionally.

Yeah pity MTV UK can't hand over control of Live back to them

The dance you speak is its either Crossover or as I now call its basic noise

Clubland does what MTV Dance should be doing but doesn't ... how surprising ANOTHER channel doing what MTV done ORIGINALLY (rolls eyes)

Oh I agree but these charts they have on just about everyone is "shareholder" controlled (using them as a reference) than viewers having a say ... it maybe different on channels you have but where with me on VM I don't get to see all this but I will check sites

Now UK have it, it won't be going back.

It's just this new dance that's about Klangkarussell etc and even lesser knowns. Not my kind of thing, but it's popular so MTV Dance are cashing in on it's popularity. When it dies, they'll be back to Gaga etc

Yes, do check AATW - they aren't perfect, but I find them better than Bauer/MTV

Why does MTV UK get away with things it baffles me

Oh they have now grasped onto unknowns now? Oh it won't last its like if they promote new acts .... they'll either play them for so long and then sink into oblivion as you even mentioned they'll play Gaga again (not much new there!)

I'll def look into AATW give them a go and see if I find it any good - what channel out of their lot you recommend?

Clubland is possibly the best one, Followed by Channel AKA. But Planet Pop & Now Music TV show the same thing most of the time although Now sometimes has 80s and 90s music.

Here's SubTV Music that I've mentioned a few times. It's worth watching and recently got an Ofcom license so let's hope it launches soon.

360 Tunebox would be a good addition as well.

Clubland #1 by far if you like dance music

Planet Pop is all current stuff and charts of people they like

AKA - Not my thing - rap etc

Now - mixture, some 80's, some 90's, some 00's, some current

Probably go Clubland, Now and then whatever you are into...

Clubland have 'classic' and flashback stuff tomorrow - lots of Cascada with any luck - I know in the Eurodance flashback their are 3 songs on there.

I don't watch the music channels much nowadays but I enjoyed the playlists on Heart TV tonight , I had it on whilst at my mate's earlier on this evening. It was decent many great dance tunes played like Chicane , iiO , Groove Armada , The Ones , Basement Jaxx , Daft Punk , Layo & Bushwacka! , Dirty Vegas , Junior Jack , Mylo much better than Clubland if you ask me and by far one of the strongest music channels out of the whole bunch

As for Chartshow Dance it's poor , I particular find their small playlist and selection dull and bland and those R&B/Pop Remixes they play on the channel really are cheap and awful and not to mention to overplayed tracks from the last 3 years has been extremely mediocre to poor.

As for MTV Dance , it's poor has been for years and will be until the end of it's days!

Heart & Capital have destroyed British radio, but Heart TV is actually quite good.

Clubland I will check out I would watch AKA but do they actually play "old skool" stuff such as LL Cool J by chance as if its all Kanye/Kimye I ain't going to think about it

Now - I would list that as a "hit and a miss"

I had to LOL at one of your track listings (but I mean as in not been played in a lifetime), The Ones "flawless" yeah how often does MTV Dance let alone VH1 play that track these days? possibly zero, I do however wonder if the George Michael "flawless go to the city" is another I ain't seen played anywhere, yet I believe MTV Dance did put that on when it was released (yeah a first George Michael on MTV Dance), still I rather have him on there to the crap stars we have filling in the channel!

AKA used to be mainly 90% British unsigned acts and unknowns with a bit of mainstream but now it's 95% mainstream and by mainstream I mean Eminem, Kanye, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna on repeat.

What about Channel U? Does that still exist and is that too the same use to concentrate on UK unsigned acts and jumped the bandwagon

Why do all channels go for the "mainstream" I admit MTV was one that done BOTH unsigned/mainstream but these days its more of the mainstream than unsigned yet they speak about backing them (yeah ok)

The Box - was also another and again its the same story, the likes of MTV/VH1/The Box should concentrate on looking for fresh talent than stick to the same on rota but it won't improve thats for sure

Channel U and Fizz TV were renamed Channel AKA and Starz TV in 2009. They used to be sister channels but are now owned by completely different companies.

You can't blame that on Now TV - I think VH1 has played it a while ago or was it a Bauer station?

I didn't realise he was in that song wow .....

Channel U was a much better channel and even used to get mentioned in the songs of some rappers as the channel got them some exposure and often helped them make their music videos or allowed artists to send their videos in to be played on the channel. A lot of the urban artists today such as Dappy and Tulisa started off on Channel U. Back then it was a very cheap looking channel that would crash a lot whenever Fizz crashed. When they became AKA all that changed was the logo but it wasn't until 2011 that it started to focus less on unknowns.

The company who owned them went bust a few times and then they launched Lava TV (Which became GHTV, Greatest Hits and then Now Music). The owner, Mushroom TV went bust again in 2012 and AKA was sold to AATW who kept the channel as it was until a late last year, Starz was sold to a company called Cloud Television One who obviously went bust so they sold it to CSC Media who owns Chart Show and Greatest Hits was sold to a company called UltimateHits Limited which was probably owned by AATW as Now Music TV is an AATW channel.

The only independent music channel left is Vintage TV.

LOL company went bust a few times --- surely that was a sign to jump ship?? I did note Vintage is the only independent channel --- yet thats been going for years has it not?? I recognised it more of a SKY channel than a Virgin channel (unusual move to have it on Virgin but I like it - puts VH1 to shame most of the time)
