LOL company went bust a few times --- surely that was a sign to jump ship?? I did note Vintage is the only independent channel --- yet thats been going for years has it not?? I recognised it more of a SKY channel than a Virgin channel (unusual move to have it on Virgin but I like it - puts VH1 to shame most of the time)
. These days it's mainly music videos but they delve quite deep into the archives. A few weeks ago they had a chillout type show at 2am and they were playing a Bjork video that I'd never seen before.

Vintage launched in around 2010 and they mainly had music videos that they made from clips of the year the song was made so a song from 1960s would have 60s things

I never knew that I thought it had been launched say between 2003-6 surprised me there! I noticed a few months ago Vintage TV had played an "odd" video I think it was in the 80's that I would have thought VH1 would have say playlisted (but of course who we kidding right?) You mentioned a "chill out" show on Vintage is there any other channel out there that does that? MTV Dance did but don't now |

I wish just one of those many channels could play classical musical, choral or instrumental music.

Heat TV should be more like their radio station.
I actually find Heat TV to be a bit better than The Vault these days. They don't play the same videos at exactly the same time each day. Quote:

How did they edit him out? yet I am actually intrigued by this

I don't listen to Heat Radio, what do they play? Not Jessie J, Rita Ora or Rihanna I hope?

Yet they can play stuff like Fine Young Cannibals but yet I hardly see any of their songs on that channel - odd playlisting there! Play songs from 80's 90's and 00's on your station but yet your very selective on what to play "decade" wise ... you'll have stuff like Westlife/Five on all the time on the channel yet you won't play stuff like Ken Doh or Afroshock (as in music videos from the 90's) how weird is that? |

I don't watch the music channels much nowadays but I enjoyed the playlists on Heart TV tonight , I had it on whilst at my mate's earlier on this evening. It was decent many great dance tunes played like Chicane , iiO , Groove Armada , The Ones , Basement Jaxx , Daft Punk , Layo & Bushwacka! , Dirty Vegas , Junior Jack , Mylo much better than Clubland if you ask me and by far one of the strongest music channels out of the whole bunch
![]() As for Chartshow Dance it's poor , I particular find their small playlist and selection dull and bland and those R&B/Pop Remixes they play on the channel really are cheap and awful and not to mention to overplayed tracks from the last 3 years has been extremely mediocre to poor. As for MTV Dance , it's poor has been for years and will be until the end of it's days! CS Dance and MTV Dance are appalling, I agree. Quote:
Has anyone got a chart of the 31 music channels viewing figures please
http://www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-top-10? shows each individual channels rating - looking at it all the programmes we all moan about get the best figures

Clubland I will check out I would watch AKA but do they actually play "old skool" stuff such as LL Cool J by chance as if its all Kanye/Kimye I ain't going to think about it
Now - I would list that as a "hit and a miss" ![]() |

I don't watch AKA, but when i've landed on it, it's Eminem, Rihanna or some other mainstream - they've gone away from their roots.

Its with people mentioning the channel has gone "mainstream" makes me wonder if that is what they have on (even if you don't watch it) but I wouldn't be surprised really as if your set up to be a dance channel you play dance music but today's standards of what it is, is laughable
All desperate for viewers as viewing figures drop. |

Well if they are "straying" off maybe its time to close some down? This does apply to non music channels as well they too are in that same habit - time to get rid!
I'm not sure what Smash Hits' point is anymore. It has no direction at all. |

Mergers maybe.
I'm not sure what Smash Hits' point is anymore. It has no direction at all. Heat - I was hoping was going to be like its station but again the channel is too focused on the "now" and whats "trending" but then again I have said that too merge the channels but I doubt they don't want to lose out on their "teleshopping" income if they reduced their output - hmmm they will have to one way or another as it is really pathetic at 3am in the morning they decide to close up shop. Either provide programming/music or don't bother. I'll give Bauer credit it seems some of their channels on a friday/saturday night actually play music during the night but out of the whole lot I see Vintage is the only channel that actually stands for 24 hours! |

Smash Hits should really become a channel similar to Vintage - even if its from the 80's onwards

Heat broadcasts 24 hours now, all the Baeur, CSC and AATW got rid of Teleshopping ages ago. It's only MTV now which is silly as they're pay channels.

How weird since when did they make the change I now note its only 4Music that is running Teleshopping? ![]() As far as I knew all the Bauer channels did carry Teleshopping - so why the abandonment? Does Bauer see something that MTV isn't?? Again give them a bit of credit if they are at least abandoning Teleshopping its a start so why does MTV need it? Whenever I watch Heat its the bloomin scroller thing on and something about "the big reunion" or basically a "flashback" of Five

I do enjoy the classic pop but I'm bored of Big Reunion crap. Just play some other stuff.

They all changed at the same time around late January or early Feb. I remember going through every music channel I have at 3am and seeing Insanity simulcast on all the music channels except Starz, Heart, Capital and Vintage. Some of the channels have ditched adverts after 1am now too.

Or why not go further back play 2 Unlimited -Tribal Dance/Twilight Zone but typical if its 2 Unlimited its the obvious "No Limit" and one final example Culture Beat "Mr Vain" umm they did have more songs you know? "Anything" does that get airplay? God no but Mr Vain does so why the limitation on what to play?? |

Its good then they are dropping the ads .... pity that channel known as MTV Rocks ran that 120 minutes ... but of course silly me ... teleshopping is far more important at night! (I know it was on MTV Classic recently --- makes you question MTV's motives more)

It shocks me that a channel you have to pay for carries teleshopping, they should broadcast 24/7 and give you what you're paying for. The Vault often plays a few different Will Smith songs, not a fan of him though. They're also obsessed with playing PJ & Duncan's (Ant & Dick) discography. A similar thing happens with Haddaway, the music channels don't touch any song other than What Is Love. But Clubland does play at least 2 of his other songs. |

I've only seen The Vault and Chart Show without ads at 1am but I think Scuzz and Flava drop the ads for a bit after 2am sometimes.

I agree with you on the Teleshopping part - how can they get away with it? Thats why I will give Bauer a bit of credit if they are running without it -MTV says it all .... it needs it on all channels including its "entertainment" channel, Bauer only has it on 4Music MTV its on ALL (how surprising) yet this is meant to be the "one in the know" of all things (standards have well and truly slipped) Clubland plays 2 of his other songs?? Again its another network that knows MORE of an artist than MTV cares to delve into! What songs do they play of Will Smith out of curiousity?? Will Smith was a random artist being honest but still surprises me yet I hardly see him on or if he is on its Summertime/Boom Shake the Room OR Men In Black ... thats it ![]() Odd Vault hitting overload on Ant and Dec! lol |
