They're on the verge of failure and they obviously don't realise it.
Replace these people with people who know music and what people want and not hire people like Stefanie Faleo who change a channel to a trashy modern pop channel just because she's obsessed with trash like Beyonce, Rihanna and Jessie J. Work experience or people who are just starting a career in television would do a much a better job than the current idiots.
What would be your ideal channel?”
My ideal channel is at least a channel that operates 24 hours day WITHOUT teleshopping
A channel that covers all ranges of music and even decades (have different days devoted to a genre)
VH1 back in the 90's ran "artist(s) of the month" <<<< maybe start that again?
if it was a VH1/Vintage TV channel actually concentrate on music of yesteryear and up to a point of music of today
cut down on the "charts"
stop the stupid countdowns ie Guetta VS the world (uh huh OK)
channel playlists actually play music they are catered to, ie keep all the "pop" artists to say MTV Hits and whatever channel BUT not on every channel for the sake of it
viewer requests/interaction - ie MTV Select/Most Wanted
documentaries - Behind The Music (most of these have automatically went to MTV or VIVA - some still have never aired on VH1 - oh the irony!)
channel has an IDENTITY not the same generic type we see - ie VH1 is still barraged by MTV ads - why?? VH1 should be all things VH1 (or at least mix MTV ads in with VH1 ads not just MTV ONLY ads - they already alienate me still when I see those ads there - and I doubt people younger than I or older than I actually give a damn about someone's ex on a beach - lets get real!)
I know its a list again but thats what I would get rid of and make an ideal channel, but again why are we the ones needing to point out all that is wrong on todays "entertainment" / "music" channels? They know what they have done but I doubt they care
