I don't bother listening to much UK radio anymore due to Heart & Capital taking over everything and f**king radio up. Radio City 96.7 and Juice FM are my favourites even though I shouldn't receive them due to being in North Wales but they seem to reach here I usually just do a search on TuneIn and end up listening to some Finnish Power Metal station or an extreme dance radio station from France.

@east_boy_16 what was that video you saw?

CSC's music channels still use their old 'Flashing Warning' logos from over 6 years ago. Reminds me of when they were brilliant channels Scuzz will sometimes use the metal warning or the plain white one and The Vault uses still uses the plain white one. They must be stuck on the videos.

My ideal music channels would be;

A channel that plays dance, eurodance, trance, EDM, dubstep, drum and bass, trap, chill and more. It doesn't play crappy remixes or uptempo R&B and relies on viewer requests and also people can suggest videos to be added the channel. There are no countdowns or shows featuring people from Made In Chelsea and it would be the only place on UKTV that provides a 24/7 party on your TV.

A channel that plays classics from 1970s to 5 years ago. They rely on viewer requests and allow people to suggest videos. There are no countdowns.

A channel that offers an alternative to the rest. It would play rock, dance, indie and more plus allow new talent to be seen. It wouldn't ignore certain artists just because they aren't Jessie J or Rihanna.

A pop channel that plays music from 1990-2009. It's a mixture of chart hits and chart misses so if a video only reached number 200 when it was released then it will get the chance to be played on here. It's a bit like The Vault but with more variety

Have some more ideas but don't think this post can get any bigger.

You make valid points on your ideal channel as well

I am still surprised by the way Bauer runs some radio stations - 2 regional stations I could listen to are Tay FM and Forth 1 (listened to them one night and found it a bit too creepy they played the same song at same time - guess its simulcast and broadcast from Clyde?) As for Heat it plays some songs that they don't play on TV yet they lack in playing more "old skool" stuff from 70-90's and is only a selected few they have on rotation ie Aftershock - slave to the vibe/Nomad - devotion/Ken Doh - need a lover tonight and Jade - don't walk away (come on play more of this stuff its well suited for the station!)

Oh yeah Heat TV Tonight artist error - its Eternal ft BeBe Winans not BeBe Winas (you bunch of tits!! - update and fix!!)

VH1 has "guess the year" back on screens however its "21st century no.1's" - is it a sign??

Cher - Believe
Armin van Buuren - Burned with Desire
Armin van Buuren - Shivers
Agnelli & Nelson - Holding onto Nothing
Mel C - I Turn to You
Pizzaman - Trippin' on Sunshine

I have quite a few ideal channels but unfortunately they will never happen.

I'm staying in Edinburgh for a month at the end of July so I'll be listening to Forth 1, I remember listening to it the Gyle car park about 2002 and it was the first time I heard Sk8r Boi by Avril Lavigne for the first time

Speaking of artist errors, Clubland TV made one a few years ago with 'DJ Antoine'. They listed him as 'DJ Anotine' and it wasn't changed for at least a month.

I saw VH1 for the first time the other day (I don't have it on my TV) and it looks terrible compared to other versions. The song titles look cheap and programming is awful. Logo is cool though but I don't like the programme title in the box joined to the logo.

I admit when I was younger I would tune into Forth 1 than Tay FM possibly it was because the presenters were better to my own! Now the way they are ran there has been cutbacks, I know Tay AM seems to come mostly from the Clyde now, Tay FM still has some local (presume the same with Forth)

I was more surprised by Heat and that mistake yet they been playing that track since its debut on "The Box"

I like the new presentation - I do think the programming title is bigger than the VH1 logo itself, I would still say having those MTV ads on there cheapens the channel and is off putting for me

I know what you mean with the "roller" as I call it (I will partly agree on that one), but yet it took them nearly a year to make that change (compared to MTV's makeovers which were done every year)

Do Starz tv still air explicit videos after 10pm because I only watch a bit of it during the daytime.

Not sure what happened with my quoting, but to go back to Kezo's post - i've never heard of the BBC3 show but if Nick Grimshaw is on there, I refuse to watch.

Oh I highly recommend its a show to be missed! I admit I only watch BBC 3 for Fam Guy and American Dad - just getting into Barely Legal Drivers (hit and a miss on that lol), but if I compare it to the tosh we have on VIVA/MTV i'll stick to BBC on that one!

Meanwhile VH1 had made "year" errors but oh look at VH1 now they have now taken off the "year" of the songs now ..... oh well Vintage TV is the only one left to have kept it ... hmm do you think MTV takes us as thick??

MTV thinks we are all youngsters who are not very wise.

I see CS Dance have a countdown in the top left hand corner to let you know when they come back after the ads.

I've only landed on it when it's been less than a minute, but would be handy if it was for the whole adverts.

Chart Show has it too. Probably the only thing good about the CSC channels at the minute.

I do like the song graphics on CS Dance though.

Ah yes they was played often during the daytime back in the day's.

You don't see them playing much of his tracks on TV nowadays , 'Hear my Name' was another Flaunt played same with Touch your Toes and NYC Beat and Ski Hard , My My My is oftenly played on MTV Dance though.

No, they just have the same playlist from 8am to 3am which is all censored latest hits. Music from 3am to 8am is unsigned/unknown/ex playlist videos that haven't been updated since 2012 on weekdays and Dubstep/Drum & Bass/Urban at weekends.

None of the music channels other than Scuzz show explicit videos anymore. Turn Down For What is unedited after 9pm but that's about it. The days of 'Who's Your Daddy' & 'Smack My Bitch Up' uncensored are long gone

Oh of course - everything is aimed in that direction of course and yet possibly the same majority of the younger generation must look at the likes of MTV as basically that - car crash tv

I remember staying up late one night on MTV (this is way way back), when they ran a X Rated video zone , but your right those days are long gone ... yet irony of it all, most of the vids you see these days are uncensored even during the day!

Heck there was a dance video I seen last night on MTV Dance (can't remember the artists name) woman walking around in a bikini and what looks like a skimpy thong ... please explain what the hell is that sort of video doing on before 9pm?? (not you personally) and I know you can add stuff like Rihanna as well but come on ... You expect these sort of vids on after 9pm but they get airplay during the day?? There has to be a joke somewhere

Nothing explicit about a person walking around in a bikini. Rihanna's videos are just trashy though.

I don't know why they don't show explicit videos anymore. Channel U/AKA used to have XXX U with some very explicit videos and CSC used to play uncut videos on their channels after 10pm as did Clubland. Now there's not even the utter of the word 'shit'.

However this video is uncut after 10pm and then hacked to pieces before It's an amazing video and the daytime edit ruins it, there's nothing really explicit or unsuitable about it other than the wiggling boner in trousers bit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMUDVMiITOU

I think re: uncensored videos, its OFCOM and the Tories being complict with each other thats limited that scope. Perhaps after next year if we get a Labour government the rules will be relaxed and softer. Sadly, we have a few right-wing Christian cry babies who are spoiling it for everyone else..

VH1 now has text in the top right promoting a show, like MTV. Currently it's "Official UK Top 40: Today 5pm" so at least they aren't promoting the latest MTV reality shows.
