MTV Classic are showing 'Should Have Been Noughties Number 1's' - seems to be a some 90's tracks are being played - Best things in life are free' Vandross/Jackson isn't 00's?

Those viewing figures are sliding even further now Bliss is at 44,000 the lowest audience ever recorded also record lows for CS Dance , Flava , these channels arent going to be with us for much longer , I imagine Sony will want to close these down once they completely take over CSC.

The viewing figures are low for Bliss because it's turned into a current chart hits channel.

What's it like now? Mine seems to be doing ok.

What do you mean off the EPG? You mean through 'added channels'?

I saw Dannii Minogue - All I Wanna Do, yesterday, on MTV CLassic - not seen that in donkeys years.

It was in some kind of 90's chart I think.

It seems OK right now.

That new song by Cold Play is an attempt at dance and a pathetic one at that. Doesn't really surprise me that it's on the dance music channels though.

Yeah, the other channels list where you can add channels that aren't on the EPG. Starz changed transponder but when it was testing they were an hour behind, the last time they changed transponder they were showing a test with a video from 6 months earlier.

It is definately a 90's track and was a #2 in Aug 1992 .... its from Mo Money with Damon Wayans (you probably knew that), but of course this is MTV not got a friggin clue (kinda reminds you the way VH1 was going doesn't it??) - where the heck they get the idea it "should have been a 00's #1" thing all about maybe it should be retitled 90's then yes but this is just lazy research does anyone in MTV UK towers actually care about MUSIC anymore or is it just aimed at reality?? MTV needs a reality check

I haven't watched any of the music channels for about a week now. Mainly because I have bad signal on Clubland, Capital and Heart but also because the CSC channels have actually become so tedious.

Come on Sony! Fix the damage that certain people have done and sack that X Factor reject.

With abit of luck hopefully they will !

If there was an award for Worst TV Presenter Jake Quickenden would get that

Just wondering if we'll ever see HD channels for all these music channels. MTV, Channel 4 has so many music channels yet none of those have hd version. It's 2014. How does these channels have no HD channels when music videos on these channels are shot in HD format.

Also whats up with all these constant blurring out certain things in a music video. Most cases I see them blurring out any logos on a t-shirt. It's very annoying, and it pretty much ruins a music video for me. Can they cut that crap out?

It's strange, Stefanie 'Fangirl' Faleo interviewed him after he left the X Factor judges houses for Chart Show Chat and then a few months later he gets to present Ibiza Summer on Chart Show Dance. Soon after that he's suddenly presenting on both Chart Show and CS Dance, interviewing people who got the fame he will never have. Must be depressing for him but they send him to Ibiza and America all the time so that probably cheers the poor guy up.

I wonder if Sony will change get new people to control the CSC channels.

MTV Live is in HD, mostly live performances but it does show music videos too.

I don't think there'll be any others in the near future, it's not worth the expense as the ratings for music channels are so low now.

Which there's loads of already.

Bliss isn't known for a new hits channel anyway viewers have been mostly loyal to Bauers brands over the years.

CSC music channels are doomed for closure however even if they shut Bauer are FTA so there's still plenty of choice.

No there isn't. Kerrang doesn't play proper rock music, Magic is bland with constant charts from 2007 and Kiss just plays urban chart hits. The rest just play current chart hits.

Sony could improve the music channels which you don't have to hate anymore because CSC Media Group are probably going to disappear which is what you've been hoping for a long time. Scuzz, Chart Show, Flava and Starz are the only Sony music channels that don't bore me. The others were fine until Stefanie Faleo decided that they needed to rely on current chart hits and Big Reunion crap.

I was a big fan of CSC channels until they shut NME TV and Dance Nation and changed Bliss from an 80's channel. They were bought out mid 00's and down hill and turned mostly into pop music channels. I rarely watch music tv. I still watch music videos mostly Youtube which you can get on the tv anyway.

I would be amazed if anybody missed CSC channels or any music channel there's no good ones like the old days of music tv. They are all cloned pop channels and only three or four don't play pop music. I remember when Classic FM TV was on air, great picture quality and catered for something different.

Yet the money they probably plow in from Teleshopping could possibly have given each channel an HD variant apart from MTV/MTV Live HD (yet US has a VH1 HD), it beggars belief what does MTV UK actually blows it money on?? It seems to be dross to me

Eventually I can see Viacom wanting to phase out MTV Live HD for MTV Music HD instead.

If they want to save further more money then close more channels down and just have the ONE HD channel then - better yet scrap the MTV of now and get all this content back on ... and voila MTV (Music Television) HD and VH1 HD (also)

It would be a laugh say in a decades time MTV does REVERT back

MTV Live HD - has became one of the worst channels which I liked before UK control (may have felt alot different as it was in Poland control but since UK its crap and again is another channel being used as a vehicle for all things MTV (main channel)

I wouldn't count on that , i can see MTV becoming just an Internet based network in the not too distant future.

I am predicting that they will want to close down some of their Music channel spin off's in the next 2 years i'm looking at MTV Rocks and MTV Dance as the first channels to dissapear.

VIVA i can see moving out of the music section into the Entertainment section to be like the modern day 'Trouble TV' as a Comedy & Youth channel.

That would be fantastic, VIVA is one of my favourite channels and adding more shows or rebranding it to Paramount Channel would be a good move. I can see 5* being replaced by VIVA+1 now that Viacom own C5.

VIVA is not bad just wish they'd introduce the same logo as the polish and german counterparts though , it just looks out of place and i have no idea why it isn't the same.

I can see a Likely move that Viacom will close down 5* and that slot will be replaced for a timeshifted VIVA

5USA im hoping will become SpikeTV

If that happens they can move the main channel over to online then, as for their spin offs I welcome that more cut it down its the same crap day in/day out not much catered to us older folks who grew up with them.

VH1 may as well go as they have just now realised that VH1 needs some content ... what took you lot so long to know that - ie Behind The Music (VH1 originally ran these shows but powers let be moved it over to MTV whilst VH1 was playing music videos)

VIVA is exactly that an Entertainment channel it only plays music mostly weekends and is one of the longest of the MTV family carrying teleshopping from 3-9am!

I don't quite get VIVA really these days its slowly morphing into MTV2 with repeats from MTV ie Teen Mom - how long before the likes of repeats of The Valleys/Geordie Shore will appear?

VH1 UK would have nothing to show in HD, unless they go back to showing programmes and films like the American version.

This is what's on in America: http://www.locatetv.com/listings/vh1-hd

Did you hear that VIVA Germany is being cut to a daytime only channel? From September it will only be on air until 5pm each day, then Comedy Central will take over.

I wouldn't say VH1 UK go the full version of US but come on - where is new "pop up video", surely they can invest in VH1 like I mentioned Behind The Music/Storytellers are VH1 content, they are not "MTV" content but MTV UK thinks differently and classes them as exactly that.

As for the HD think of it this way, if the US counterpart has managed to get an HD variant to its SD sister why can't the UK? Was not that long ago VH1 UK was following VH1 US in style of programming but its like here they have given up but with the exception of MTV buy content and do some homegrown programming - what does VH1 get? A long overdue makeover and still nothing else to show for it but wait for it ... still with the bombardment of MTV ads! (where is VH1's own ads??)

If MTV UK/Viacom like MTV that much then close down other channels, maybe it is time to close VH1? But again they need the advertising income as well as the "teleshopping" income to keep them afloat, but it is getting tedious now to watch something on these channels

Yeah, i'd like to see some of the US shows return to VH1 UK. They did show some new episodes of Pop Up Video for a few months but only at midnight and there was no promotion for it. Sometimes they show a random episode of Behind The Music or Storytellers but at very odd times and again with no promotion.

At present VH1 UK and MTV Classic both seem to focus heavily on 90s/00s music and now VH1 has shifted away from the 80s there's an even bigger overlap between them.
