Yeah, i'd like to see some of the US shows return to VH1 UK. They did show some new episodes of Pop Up Video for a few months but only at midnight and there was no promotion for it. Sometimes they show a random episode of Behind The Music or Storytellers but at very odd times and again with no promotion.
At present VH1 UK and MTV Classic both seem to focus heavily on 90s/00s music and now VH1 has shifted away from the 80s there's an even bigger overlap between them. VH1 needs to go back to its roots, go back further from 70's onwards than as you mentioned heavily 90's to present music. I still think VH1 should run shows like a rock show/motown shows etc in between music/programming but with VH1 at moment mostly top 40 and playing music not much going for it. VH1 programming - oh I agree we need some even if it was more of the US music content on it then fine i'll be happy with it but come on MTV/Viacom get your fingers out and actually PROMOTE VH1 MTV Classic - can't judge it since I don't have it but from what was mentioned a while back the "future classics" was in my mind a wrong idea to do - basically beats the point if its a "classics" channel to play likes of Robin Thicke on it now, but of course it was probably done to see if anyone noticed |

Also whats up with all these constant blurring out certain things in a music video. Most cases I see them blurring out any logos on a t-shirt. It's very annoying, and it pretty much ruins a music video for me. Can they cut that crap out?
You'll also find smoking is often blurred out, and similarly you can't glamourise drinking alcohol (which resulted in most of Rita Ora's "How We Do" being cut out on TV) - I can remember Junior Senior's "Move Your Feet" having "Non alcoholic nut juice" or something appear on the screen when the squirrel does shots in the video ![]() On a different note - if CMT UK ever happened, I would happily pay a subscription - but it never will

I was visiting a friend in Birmingham this week and we went to a nightclub called Gatecrasher. It was a student night so only 2 rooms were available but in the main room the music they played was exactly the same as the music they play on Chart Show Dance/Dance Nation and the other room played R&B.
I thought they would've played proper dance but it was remixes of current songs and all the dance type songs that are out at the moment. Had a great time though ![]() Has anyone heard anymore news about Sony and the CSC channels? |

Apparently it's the norm in crappy clubs, sadly.

The people at the club that night were mainly chavs and typical students who danced to every song even when it was a Calvin Harris song ![]() But it's a shame that the dance channels seem to be aiming their playlists to appeal to the nightclub goers. What about the people who enjoy proper dance? |

10-15 years ago Gatecrasher was a club for those who enjoyed 'proper' dance (mainly trance). Although, at that time, trance was mainstream and the likes of Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten were having Top 40 hits so even back then it was appealing to the commercial side of the market.
Tiesto used to be quite good but his latest music is terrible especially that new one which is constantly played on the music channels. |

In America, CMT has followed MTV/VH1 and turned to reality shows. Swamp Porn, Tattoo Titans, Redneck Island and Fat Cops are just some of the current show titles.
Some of CMT's current shows are apparently going to be on TRUtv when it launches in August. |

CMT looks bloody terrible as does VH1 in America. I don't really know why people want CMT so much or why people want VH1 UK to be like the American version.

People want Cmt because they are wrongly under the illusion it is like it was in the 90s when it was on Sky (non stop country videos)

I don't see how a 100% country music channel would work in the UK. If there was enough demand for it then there would be one by now and CMT would still be around in the UK.

My only argument for that is having some shows not wall to wall reality ie documentaries as such appearing and the likes of "pop up video" which originally did air on VH1 here.
That said, there's also plenty of things on the VH1 US schedules like 'Dating Naked' which can stay in the US! |

Yes, there are some good music related shows from VH1 US which could be shown over here. VH1 UK was best when it included music related shows, documentaries, concerts, even films with a strong musical link rather than a handful of music video charts repeated constantly.
That said, there's also plenty of things on the VH1 US schedules like 'Dating Naked' which can stay in the US! ![]() So why priority in programming for one channel and not the other? I do agree that I would rather see documentaries/concerts and even specialist shows back on. The countdowns need to stop and they need to open more of their archive (similar to the MTV channels) I just find the advertising for MTV a bit too much for my own liking - as the ads also appear on VIVA and as far as I know out of the 3 "branded" channels MTV has bigger priority VIVA next (again shared promotion - MTV/VIVA - Tonight VIVA advertised Geordie Shore) whilst VH1 is well errr .... wall to wall MTV |

That also strikes me as rather odd - VH1 UK was no far following getting programming from VH1 US but then when it became wall to wall music/countdowns it stopped but look at MTV UK it basically gets the latest from MTV US

I watching Catfish: The TV Show before on VIVA and Geordie Shore was advertised at least 3 times per ad break. But luckily VIVA does advertise it's own programmes e.g. Spongebob and Scrubs.
Yeah I have seen their own ads for films and programmes like Scrubs but yet VH1 can't advertise a programme ie UK Top 40? But the MTV ads are every ad break, very strange in my book - you would expect to "connect" with your viewers but it seems obvious that watching VH1 we must switch to MTV(?)

The Vault has become such a boring channel now , time for a music format shake up. Stefanie Faleo must really have a narrow minded taste in music to play the same artists and songs all the time , sooner Sony takeover these channels the better , maybe then the favouristism of artists will end. Rihanna , Beyonce , Lady Gaga , Katy Perry , Usher , Justin Bieber , Taylor Swift , Ke$ha , Nelly/Kelly Rowland , Shakira , Black Eyed Peas , Fergie , Kanye West , Nicki Minaj are all I ever see whenever I flick to it.

Chart Show TV Channel Manager, Stefanie Faleo, says: “Here at Chart Show TV we thrive on keeping things current and believe our new show will do just that.”
The Vault should be a classic pop channel but it should play a mixture of chart hits from 1980 to Last year as well as videos that haven't been played for years and a mixture of Big Reunion/Cheesy pop.She doesn't have a clue about music and if you look at her twitter you'll see she obsesses over certain artists. |
