Clubland TV has 16,000 viewers !!! this has to be the lowest ever figure i've seen for a music channel.
Although Clubland is quite weak at the moment and I haven't watched when there has been signal. |

Yes it's noise to my ears too , also that new tiesto song makes my ears want to bleed and matthew komas vocals on that track sound like they are female vocals yet his voice is fairly masculine.

Going by what you listed as Bad/Over rated - pretty much sums up how bad playlisting actually is these days its shocking, surprised that Clubland didn't throw in Tweedy to the mix with her new one! |

Yeah Clubland 9 is full of Pop but back then it was the cheesy pop dance that wasn't really seen as cool to listen to. Now Clubland relies on chart hits

Well at least I can say I am pretty spot on with the MTV Dance/Base playlists (at times) its just the same songs apart from minor changes All these channels have completely lost their ways, there is no real thought going into any music at all its pathetic really |

I hate to say it but all types of music these days are going up creek without a paddle

Well at least I can say I am pretty spot on with the MTV Dance/Base playlists (at times) its just the same songs apart from minor changes All these channels have completely lost their ways, there is no real thought going into any music at all its pathetic really LIKE Dance music over the past 2 years has slowly become a tiny bit better and featuring less rappers and more actual vocals or no vocals at all. From around 2005 to 2012 every dance track featured AKON, Jay Z, Pitbull, Chris Brown etc and it was awful. DISLIKE For me it's become way too mainstream. Everyone is listening to dance music and more and more artists are dipping their feet into the water such as Cold Play, Ellie Goulding and Demi Lovato plus a lot of the dance beats sound the same. The likes of Martin Garrix and Avicii seem to be getting so popular that the quality of their songs seems to be falling and older artists like Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren etc seem to be getting worse and worse. The fact that dance has become so mainstream means that it is played so much on the chart channels and radio stations that it is no longer worth watching on a dance orientated tv channel or radio station. The broadcasters seem to be scared to play classics (other than the usual ones) and lesser know hits because they seem to think that the British public only want to hear/see what is 'Trending'. |

If they all want to tackle dance then do it differently but they all on some sort of same beat bandwagon, I initally thought artists go through phases ie be R&B then dance then revert back but to some its just stick to dance (why??) I agree that channels/radio stations are scared to play more classics its like as if some hits we made back in the day or shall we say misses barely get play! I wouldn't mind more unknowns being played as it would be a laugh (in a good way bring back memories) but I doubt it will happen. Its much like asking VH1 to play "10 of the best from Simply Red" but they won't touch that with a barge pole! |

I agree with what you say but the likes of Pitbull/Chris Brown and even Enrique Iglesias have got in the habit of "dance" - maybe its a start that dance music is featuring less rappers on them but on the other hand its them that are now the new "dance" music (which I have got no real idea how thats possible)

Paramore are a rock band who were played on Scuzz and Kerrang but now they've changed to become pure pop and are played on the chart channels. It just doesn't work for them. I think I might stick to online radio sites like di.fm if I want to listen to dance music. The UK has no dance radio stations left as Capital and Heart have taken over everything. |

I take a strong dislike to Martin Garrix and Avicii mainly down to their style in music it's not really something that is deemed 'Listener Friendly' its mostly for 'Drunken Chavs at the Clubs who like this shit' it's the same with Armin van Buuren and Tiesto I used to really look upto these guys back in my teenage years they introduced me into a music scene i follow to this present day... respect for that but they have sold out and abandoned their true loyal fans and opted for a more commercialist crowd. Commercial crowd never stay loyal anyway by the time the EDM trend ends they'll have no one to turn to as both will be gone , I see this as their Career closer for retirement. |

I really don't know why artists feel the need to stray away from their original genre. They always end up being terrible.

The Vault has become such a boring channel now , time for a music format shake up. Stefanie Faleo must really have a narrow minded taste in music to play the same artists and songs all the time , sooner Sony takeover these channels the better , maybe then the favouristism of artists will end. Rihanna , Beyonce , Lady Gaga , Katy Perry , Usher , Justin Bieber , Taylor Swift , Ke$ha , Nelly/Kelly Rowland , Shakira , Black Eyed Peas , Fergie , Kanye West , Nicki Minaj are all I ever see whenever I flick to it.

You can't expect Clubland to be full of commercial trance when nobody is making it (or if they are nobody is listening to it). It's understandable that it has to feature the hits. Dance is in a better state than it was a few years ago when it was just David Guetta and Americans.
Is it meant to be the likes of Tiesto, Guetta, Avicii? Fine OK i'll stick to that but when its the likes of Flo-Rida etc now doing the "dance" it completely buggers me and my understanding to what I knew was dance and yet on the other side its "choreographed" dance again WTF is dance and what exactly is meant to be dance music?? |
