Surely it will be whoever is attached to the Sony Record Label and it's smaller branches that will be played the most?

Clubland TV is so boring these days, i'm not surprised by this album.

Same artists, same songs inc Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and all the new crap that all sounds the same.

They still have Liz McClarnon, Woman In Love, on one of the programs and it's a ballad with no dance beat or mix at all.
there is a hidden beat in there somewhere .... I was a bit surprised at the Clubland album with its listing the only one that struck me was Afrika Bambataa (another artist you barely see on MTV Dance let alone VHfriggin1!

It's got to be an "ageist" thing really if your possibly above the age of 25+ you could go f..k yourselves but yet have those very people in reality shows make complete fools of themselves and be "role models" yeah I beg to differ!

Chart Show Tv is to be investigated by Ofcom during them showing the uk top 40 I don't what they have done wrong but its got 5 complaints.
Being investigated for playing a decent song for a change?

Yeah, the one where I smack the TV

Afrika isn't even on Clubland? And they usually overplay songs from their Clubland CD's.

Bring back The Classics.

Chart Show TV don't skip songs their Top 40 so it wouldn't surprise me if people who watch The Box UKHot40 decided to complain because they aren't used to seeing the full chart.

Luckily their album obsession only lasts a week or 2.

I miss the days when Clubland was made up of zones and played a lot more obscure videos.
- Wake Up In Clubland
- Am2Pm
- Clubland (Non-stop dance and cheesy pop dance)
- Mania (Slightly different to Clubland but with more Cascada)
- Classix (The same as Clubland but with a few more older classics and forgotten videos)
- Blue Zone (A mixture of cheesy dance and R&B with a bit of chill thrown in as well as some cheesy pop from Zig & Zag and Daz Sampson)

Looks like Starz has got rid of Starz Unsigned at 3am now as it was Biggest Hits On Stars last night in full screen with the usual playlist. Doesn't really surprise me though as Starz Unsigned had the same playlist for 2 years but did have a few gems like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKS59rzBOIU

I understand that but look at the state of it really - a channel known as MTV Dance features the likes of Chris Brown/Jason Derulo on the channel (sure as fate give it time they'll be on the Clubland channel or album), what is dance music these days as I am getting ever confused by the day!

Is it meant to be the likes of Tiesto, Guetta, Avicii? Fine OK i'll stick to that but when its the likes of Flo-Rida etc now doing the "dance" it completely buggers me and my understanding to what I knew was dance and yet on the other side its "choreographed" dance again WTF is dance and what exactly is meant to be dance music??
It's anything that you'd hear in a nightclub isn't it? Dance has always been quite broad a genre. I'd like to go back to the 90s too but it's not going to happen.

I can't really think of any video with sexual material. There is one with a heat camera and they're in a shower but it doesn't really show anything or it could be Turn Down For What which isn't exactly in the charts at the moment. It's probably Beyonce or Rihanna the trashiest women in music.

I'm surprised that 5 people took time out their lives to complain about a small music channel.

Was Faleo fawning over some boyband again?

Noticed CSC channels are sharing more content than ever.

Bauer are doing the same now - Box programs on Smash Hits and vice versa.

When Clubland first launched they didn't have adverts for about 3 months (they did but they were rare) and they would play explicit videos like Pizza Man during the day. It was a truly amazing channel back in those days.

If Sony sack Faleo then I fear she might find another job on TV as she's got the experience now. Oh no

Flava's Urban Chart is on Chart Show and Chart Show Top 40 is on Bliss

Smash Hits has been a mess for a while and it's an exact copy of the Box

I have a feeling it could be Freeview viewers who complained but it's only available after 10pm so explicit stuff shouldn't have to be investigated.

Maybe it was a rival broadcaster who complained.

Clubland did breach Ofcom rules I remember when they showed that Pizza Man video pre-watershed.

I agree with you I rather go back ... hell last time I went out to a nightclub roughly with friends was about 12-15 years ago, yet nightclubs back then played a variety of hits from actual dance to rnb to rock ... god help us what it sounds like now

Hold on .... so Afrika Bambataa has not been played on that channel but is featured on an album? There was me thinking a channel actually played someone half decent but is not listed ..... double standards there!

Yeah I agree bring back the classics but actually be more open with the archive than have the same ones stuck on rotation - example Corona rather than keep playing "rhythm of the night" (just for the sake Bastille covered it) why not play Try Me Out/I Don't Wanna Be A Star PLAY THEM!! or for Culture Beat than the usual Mr Vain - play the other songs such as Anything (don't have other songs to hand/think of) but you get what I mean

Right now Clubland's #ClublandApproved video is We Found Love by Calvin Harris and Rihanna.

I don't understand why they feel the need to play Rihanna so much

I remeber Clubland tv had a second Ofcom breach when they showed a scooter video which had topless dancers during the daytime

Last year Greatest Hits became Summer Hits (with that 'Summer Hits' whisper) but since it's been rebranded as the awful Now Music TV I don't think it will become Now Summer.
