MTV Classic will become MTV Summer on 1st August.
Does it mean they will stop playing classics?

Oh wait...

I hope it doesn't become another current charts channel for the summer.

Bit late though isn't it? We're half way through summer.

Then by Halloween it'll be known as MTV Halloween followed by the predictable MTV Christmas aka MTV XMas (yawn)

Possibly MTV Classic is not pulling in the viewers so a temp name in place will bring in the viewers and I did wonder that too bit too late .... if it was say June at least then yes but August?? We're more closer to Autumn than we are Summer - what planet does the MTV Execs live - planet Neptune by chance?

MTV Classic was playing classics from 2007 I think today? Hardly watch the channel but easily to see its nothing like as good as VH1 Classic.

Again can't judge channel but I remember VH1 Classic - it did actually stand for what it was meant to be ... surprised its went downhill since it went under the MTV rebrand

In shock news, MTV Dance played Cascada at 6.03am today.

It's just a shame the rest of the day will be the same old nonsense.

Is on Clubland's top 25 from their new album are they avoiding Cascada? I've only seen the really terrible stuff from the CD in that chart.

I'd imagine it's only the more mainstream songs on the top 25.

It's number 24 on the 25 reasons to party chart, but they have loads of those '25' charts right now.

Number 1 on the The Vault's '10 Forgotten Tunes of Pop' is Tatu - All things she Said.

Somehow I highly doubt that's a forgotten song, It's probably a song that people will remember for years to come.

I could come up with a better forgotten tunes list for them if they need help because Stefanie Faleo has no clue.

You're right it's not a forgotten song it's on fairly regular on Heat , Magic , Heart , VH1 , MTV Classic and even Bliss the sister channel to The Vault which she also runs

One song that'll be on or all listed shows - Sisqo Thong Song/DJ Jazzy Jeff Summertime (predictable already! .... give it time the same countdowns will be repeated onto VH1)

There's 1000000s of obscure tracks but they can't be arsed to find them. It was more of cheesy pop top 10 so a much better chart would go like this:

10: Girls@Play - Airhead (Never seen this on the music channels)
9: Supersister - Coffee (Last time I saw this was on The Hits in 2006)
8: Chanelle Hayes - I Want It (Only ever played on B4 around 2007/8)
7: Upside Down - Never Found A Love... (Last seen on The Vault in 2007)
6: Northern Line - Love On The Northern Line (Only played because an ex band member was in the BB House in 2007 and hasn't been played since)
5: Mika - Lollipop (Only played for a few weeks in 2007)
4: Dance Nation - Move Your Love (Overplayed on Bubble Hits in 2007)
3: Robbie Williams - She's Madonna (Never seen on this on UKTV but it was on Music Box Italia in 2007)
2: Intenso Project ft Lisa Scott Lee - Get It On (Never seen this on the music channels)
1: Tatu - All About Us (Last seen on TMF)

That chart is probably a bit modern but I'm basing it on the fact that The Vault plays music from 1998-2013.

The people who run these channels need to realise that there are millions of songs out there that aren't Beyonce, Rihanna or Jessie J. If they gave the rarely played songs a chance then they might actually find that their viewing figures could change as chart music is on nearly every channel and it's driving people away.

Actually your top 10 is actually good! but its a valid point! Look at channels such as MTV Base/Dance - they have the ARCHIVE there use it MORE and as you say the overuse of Beyonce/Rihanna

Its weird in a way I seem to find some obscure tracks on the likes of BBC Radio 2 to guess who Heat (rollseyes) but the channels at time provide nothing new nor exciting its just same everyday and anything "special" is kept to late night or weekend play (again not much new there either!)

It's not the best example of a Top 10 but it annoys me how they avoid them because they're not defined as cool. They need to stop employing people who fill the playlists with music they obsess over e.g. Stefanie Faleo. If she really wants to hear the music she exclusively likes then she should create a spotify playlist or a youtube playlist.

Whoever is in charge of Clubland TV now seems to have forgotten their history and now they only play what they think is EDM. All the older videos in SteveAATW used to make Clubland TV the best music channel for that sort of music but gradually over time they moved away from their roots and now continue to go down hill. https://www.youtube.com/user/SteveAA...view=0&sort=da (Warning there's some really cheesy songs there)

I tend to listen to BBC Radio 2 a lot in the day lately and hear the same songs every day and I don't listen to Heat. Radio City is great on Friday/Saturday nights though.

There's nothing for the unsigned people anymore either. I remember when we had Rockworld TV, Tuune (Propeller), Lava TV, Channel U etc.

And I know it's not great but why are Clubland now avoiding Scooter? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzas5qr_t9o They don't even play their older stuff anymore.

But thats the problem its not "cool" to them that are in control ..... its like to me as if they are offended to play anything obscure or tracks they got lots of airplay back in the day (for the likes of The Box or better yet Smash Hits maybe get more archived material out??)

Radio 2 I think in a way it depends but I hear songs like The Three Degrees - Runner (this was played on Ken Bruce yesterday) - weird that I have never seen that song played ANYWHERE but with Radio 2 I think they do go the obscure route sometimes (depends really) .... as for Heat Radio it was them that I found Nakasaki/Ken Doh - need a lover tonight (again another song that has never been aired on MTV/The Box in ages yet the video is up on Youtube) to me in a way it seems like MTV is missing a trick compared to Bauer (in my opinion) yet that lot were more on the ball with all things music!

Heck I remember it was ALWAYS MTV/VH1 that had EXCLUSIVES first before The Box (The Box was updated on a Friday with playlists), nowadays thats all gone and it seems the channels update automatically ie say MTV has the song first be on The Box later

Unsigned artists again both MTV/The Box played apart in doing that but now ... its like fool the unsigned artist(s) ... we back you up for so long (become commercialised then we will no longer support!) kinda of an odd setup there and again its the same with some artists!

Scooter - Clubland avoiding them?? Wow I wonder if its an "age" thing yet all the channels played them ie The Box/MTV Dance I can't remember the last time I seen them on MTV Dance possibly it was "the logical song" on a countdown couple years ago! (again play most obvious song .... why not play "i'm raving" FFS!)

Clubland's '6 Hour 2010's Trance Anthems Party' is not Trance music as it's full of crap EDM and Cheesy remixes and they claim it's uplifting , there's no melodies or harmonies to the songs they are playing , They really think Martin Garrix is Trance ? lol

Give it up Clubland , Trance hasn't existed in the mainstream since 2006!

The people behind this channel really have no clue what so ever what is trance and what isn't .

The thing is, there are too many record companies and people with fingers in pies hence the lack of unsigned acts getting anywhere and newcomers on smallish labels not getting recognition.

Honestly no one is really watching the music channels apart from Vintage TV because they disrespect the audience.

I wonder how many songs will be featured and repeated in everyone of those shows listed??
Expect - Beyonce - Rihanna - Olly Murs (obviously) - 1D .... MTV Classic this summer will make you feel like your watching MTV Hits!

MTV Classic actually know the year 1997?? Possibly some songs will come from '96 and '98 I expect

I used to like Rihanna now I am bored of her. She's everywhere and looks a right tart. The record labels have too much power and with all the underhand deals, this is why all the music channels are crap.

The days of a fair, democratic system have long gone.

Even her older stuff is ignored by the channels these days.

If It's Lovin That You Want
Unfaithful
Shut Up & Drive
Take a Bow
Wait Your Turn

Are probably her least trash music videos and they just don't bother with them

Clubland is having a 'Free For All Weekend' where it's just the usual countdowns with selections for 15 minutes in between and they claim 'It's a day full of surprises' I highly doubt that.
