My Nokia N95 8GB wont switch on now. It says Phone Start-up failed. Contact the retailer.

I've searched the internet for a solution. I have tried the GREEN KEY + * + 3 hard reset option and it still doesn't work.

The Nokia repair website states my nearest centre is a Carphone Warehouse Express Repair Centre. Should I take it there even though I got the phone from the Vodafone website. Or should I take it back to Vodafone (presumably would take longer to fix?)

Thanks,
David

You can choose where to have it repaired. You can even send it back to Nokia if you wish. Personally I would take the quickest route.

if you got it from a vodafone direct channel (internet, phone or store) you can go into a local voda store that will send it off, takes about 5 working days.

The Carphone Warehouse Express Repair Centre might be able to fix your phone in-store while you wait - definitely the quickest option.

an important difference is that vodafone, if they can't fix it will give you a referbed handset, where as CPW will give you a new one.

vodafone are only acting as a nokia repair centre like CPW. voda get paid for clearing a warranty claim the same as CPW do. unfortunately, at the moment, voda seem to do this by saying your phone is water damaged and sending it back in bits.

CPW will also give you a loaner for the duration if you ask.

the best repair centre is intercity mobile in birmingham. it's the top grade, where the phones get sent if cpw or the others can't fix them.

I called 3 today which was hard work.

But I need to go to CW to have my phone zapped? when i put my security code in it says its invalid.
I don't think the call person had a clue (it took 30 mins) but couple of questions. I take it there is no fee at CW, and what ID to I need to take.
